Chapter 401 I can't accomplish anything

Lin Zhigang was struck by the long knife that Hua Mi threw to him.

It hurt terribly from being struck by that heavy longsword.

He hurriedly grabbed the long sword Hua Mi had given him, carefully avoiding the sharp blade, and looked at Hua Mi with some panic.

What Hua Mi meant was that she would never escort him the entire way.

Lin Zhigang felt a deep sense of loss.

But why would someone with a husband and children be driven the entire way?

To be honest, the fact that Hua Mi was able to send him out of Xiangcheng and protect him, fighting his way from the center of D City all the way to the back gate of D City, was already a great favor to Lin Zhigang.

Lin Zhigang shouldn't ask for too much.

He nodded heavily, a resolute look in his eyes.

"I've been calling my dad for the past few days. At first, no one answered his phone, and now it's switched off."

“Something must have happened to my dad; he’s never been like this before.”

"I definitely have to go back."

He made no vows to Hua Mi.

Because in the end times, any vows spoken aloud will seem utterly empty.

Lin Zhigang can simply express his determination through his actions; he wants to go back, he absolutely must go back.

Hua Mi nodded, turned around, took one last look at the small safe zone in D City, and was the first to fight her way out.

Guo Se took two steps forward, watching Hua Mi's retreating figure. He raised his hand and patted Lin Zhigang on the shoulder.

"Don't push yourself. I wasn't very good at killing zombies at first either, but it got better over time."

"After all, this is a new era. While we specialize in our own fields, we should also become experts at killing zombies."

After saying that, Guo Se followed Hua Mi and charged out.

The three fought their way out of D City and headed east. E City was located to the east of the Xiangcheng base.

After fighting until late at night, almost four hours had passed, and they were about to leave D City.

Guo Se stopped in her tracks, looking at Hua Mi without saying a word.

Hua Mi brandished her long sword, turned to look at Guo Se, raised an eyebrow and asked:

"Are you still not leaving D City?"

Guo Se nodded.

She knew that perhaps leaving D City would allow her to escape the zombie horde, and perhaps leaving D City would give her a different start in life.

But ever since she and Ni Shuiwen broke up in D City, Guo Se's life seemed to have stopped there.

She didn't feel particularly sad, and even when she was killing zombies in D City, she rarely thought of Ni Shuiwen.

However, if you ask Guo Se to leave D City and go somewhere else, she seems to get stuck and refuses to step out of D City's territory.

No matter how difficult life is in D City, or even the entire D City, it has now become a small point in the zombie horde.

There are no survivors at all who come to D City to kill zombies.

Guo Se simply refused to leave D City.

Given this situation, Hua Mi slightly opened her mouth, but she still said:

“I respect your choice. With your current abilities, you don’t actually need to stay in D City, and you won’t lack any living supplies or food.”

"If one day you want to leave D City, just tell me, and I'll set off firecrackers to pick you up."

The greater a person's abilities, the better their life will be compared to that of the average person.

Guo Se may not be as adept at killing zombies as Hua Mi, but she can now move freely through hordes of zombies on her own.

This is also a very important skill.

Guo Se smiled and nodded, then waved to Hua Mi and Lin Zhigang.

Lin Zhigang looked behind Guo Se, at D City, where zombies were howling.

He originally wanted to say something to Guo Se, but after opening his mouth, Lin Zhigang realized that there didn't seem to be anything to say.

Life is too hard in this world now; no one knows who will die or where.

Maybe one day they'll have a chance to meet again, maybe one day they'll just end up like this.

Perhaps this is his final farewell to Guo Se.

"Let's go!"

Hua Mi stepped forward, holding the knife in her hand.

Lin Zhigang took one last look at Guo Se, then followed behind Hua Mi, fighting his way through the zombies.

Guo Se stood at the boundary of D City, watching their backs from afar, and waved.

Once the two zombie-killing figures were no longer visible, Guo Se turned around and headed alone towards the safe zone in D City to commit suicide.

Hua Mi, along with Lin Zhigang, killed for another half hour.

They entered a ruin located in the suburbs.

As soon as I entered, the zombies behind me immediately surrounded the ruins.

Looking at the dark ruins, Hua Mi pointed to a large pile of electric grids and a bunch of [Energy Drops] mixed with jelly stones in the corner, and said to Lin Zhigang...

"I need to go back to take care of the kids now. You'll have to stay here by yourself."

"This is the power grid, and there are also [Energy Droplets], enough for you to use for more than half a month."

"You seal these electric fences in the doors and windows of the ruins, and in all the gaps."

There was a hint of panic in Lin Zhigang's eyes.

Are you leaving too? Are you leaving me here all alone?

There was also a teleportation point here, which surprised Lin Zhigang greatly.

But in his current state of mind, he couldn't think of anything else.

He suddenly felt extremely scared, standing in the ruins, looking pitifully at Hua Mi.

Lin Zhigang had never felt so lonely and afraid before.

Because of his good family background and good education, Lin Zhigang was very popular from a young age, and he was always surrounded by a large group of friends.
