Boss Bao and Huo Jing arrived in D City fully armed.
They sat in the car, watching the few zombies wandering outside the teleportation point.
"what to do?"
Bao Zong adjusted his helmet, which was made of welded iron, and looked helplessly at Huo Jing, who was also wearing a welded iron helmet.
They brought it over in a large truck, the truck bed filled with rolls of barbed wire.
Huo Jing gritted his teeth. Because his face was covered by his helmet, his voice was muffled, but the gritted teeth were still audible.
"Charge!"
After saying that, he revved the engine and charged towards the two or three zombies that were approaching.
This was a good idea; at least Huo Jing and the foreman arrived safely at the temporary safe zone.
They crushed quite a few zombies along the way.
After a day, many survivors had gathered outside the temporary safe zone.
Most of them were rescued by garrison troops.
A few escaped from the zombie crisis in D City on their own.
These are the extremely lucky ones; as soon as they reach the outside of the safe zone, they burst into tears.
Ni Shuiwen also survived, covered in blood.
He and several other men sat blankly in the snow, looking completely lost.
With the intervention of the garrison, more and more zombies died, and more and more survivors emerged.
The situation was gradually brought under control.
People kept trying to enter the safe zone to return to Xiangcheng, but Hua Mi, along with Shi Caixia and Dafu and Xiaofu, drove them back.
The foreman and Huo Jing were seen dragging the electric fence off the truck, preparing to put up barbed wire around the area.
Some people said in a sarcastic tone,
"The garrison didn't say anything, so why can't we go back to Xiangcheng, even though I'm heavily pregnant?"
"Could it be that they're trying to embezzle our supplies?"
"Is this taking advantage of our misfortune, or is it just taking advantage of our misfortune? She's putting us in danger; what is she trying to do?"
Amidst a chorus of complaints, Hua Mi looked around and saw a group of survivors lying or sitting in front of her.
Someone approached Ni Shuiwen under the moonlight.
"Commander, aren't you going to say something?"
Ni Shuiwen staggered to his feet and, representing all the survivors, negotiated with Hua Mi.
"So much time has passed, you can't keep hoarding our supplies forever and not let us return to Xiangcheng, we really will die here."
Hua Mi looked at Ni Shuiwen, whose face was full of anger, and asked,
Where is your wife, Guo Se?
The man opposite him was stunned. He had survived a near-death experience and had never mentioned Guo Se.
Immediately, Ni Shuiwen frowned and said to Hua Mi,
“We’re talking about something else. You’ve been guarding us for so long, and now we want our supplies back. Is that alright?”
He knew Hua Mi was formidable, and now they were exhausted, cold, and penniless, so no one wanted to confront Hua Mi head-on.
What's strange is how this pregnant woman, with such a large belly, managed to endure and fight against them all day long.
Hua Mi continued to ask.
"Your wife might still be alive, aren't you going to save her?"
Ni Shuiwen looked furious and embarrassed, and growled in a low voice.
"What I'm talking to you about now is our supplies problem, so don't try to change the subject."
"Is this considered dodging the question?"
Hua Mi sneered.
"The group you formed, the zombies you blew up, your wife is in dire straits, you don't even know if she's dead or alive, and you're still thinking about leaving D City as soon as possible."
"Isn't the right thing to do, once you've made the necessary adjustments, immediately organize your people and see how many zombies they can kill, and then go and kill them?"
Under the moonlight, Ni Shuiwen stared at Hua Mi with an ugly expression.
"Shut up. I don't need you to teach me how to do things."
"Are you even a woman? You have no idea what we've been through. What right do you have to stand here and dictate what we should or shouldn't do?"
She has never experienced anything at all.
All you do is stand here and make sarcastic remarks.
Hua Mi turned around on the spot and ignored Ni Shuiwen.
After a while, Zhou Cheng returned with a garrison team and told Hua Mi and Shi Caixia to go and rest.
"The garrison here has been taken over. You all get some rest. Commander Gong is still fighting zombies in D City. Things should be stable soon."
Hua Mi nodded and glanced at Ni Shuiwen.
The fact that the garrison has stabilized the situation means that most of the survivors who needed to be rescued have already been rescued.
Therefore, Guo Se has not been contacted yet, and the prognosis is grim.
Ni Shuiwen didn't react at all; he just felt a headache coming on when he saw that the garrison had taken over the temporary safe zone.
This means they have to wait outside, and they won't be able to get their supplies back until 48 hours have passed.
He's in big trouble now because he was the one who organized the group, and his first time organizing a group has caused quite a stir.
The death toll is impossible to calculate; the survivors who manage to stay alive outside the safe zone are the ones who survive.
The quantity is less than one-third of the original.
This shows how many people died this time.
Those survivors who are still alive simply don't have time to investigate. Once they retrieve their supplies, they will definitely pursue this matter.
Ni Shuiwen was the first to be affected, after all, he was the one who formed the group.
Ni Shuiwen was eager to retrieve his supplies so he could leave D City as soon as possible.
After all, he and Guo Se had placed the zombie crystal cores they had collected over this period in their car.
Of course he wanted to get those crystal cores back.
For a man who has suffered such a huge blow, Ni Shuiwen really doesn't have the energy to care about Guo Se's situation.
