After seeing Yu Guanglin off, Gong Yi called Hua Mi.
It was quite quiet on her end; all you could hear was the sound of rain.
"Where are you?" Gong Yi frowned. "Where have you run off to again?"
"I'll go to City B to solve your problem."
Hua Mi answered decisively. There was another patch of mud ahead, and the car definitely couldn't get through. She had no choice but to get out of the car and continue collecting the mud into the garbage station.
She stopped and started countless times along the way.
Gong Yi's brows furrowed even more deeply.
"What problem can you solve? Hurry up and come back."
He paused, then, holding his gun, asked again incredulously:
How did you get out of the city?
He locked up the only road leading out of the city. How did Hua Mi get out of the city?
"Go through the landfill and then take the national highway."
Hua Mi collected the mountain of mud in front of her and put it into the garbage station, then turned back and continued driving towards City B.
"Alright, I'm not talking to you anymore. I'm so busy here, I'm busy clearing obstacles."
After saying that, she hung up Gong Yi's phone impatiently.
This man is great in every way, except that despite being a career-driven person, he's a bit of a nag.
After hanging up with Gong Yi, Hua Mi called Chi Chuan again.
"Chuanzi, where are you?"
In the drizzle, Chi Chuan and his friends, each carrying a large bag of banknotes, were struggling to make their way to the Xiang B Expressway, using mountain bikes to carry several sacks of banknotes.
"We're almost at the Xiang B Expressway, just a few kilometers away. My goodness, this road is really difficult to travel."
Chi Chuan shouted at the top of his lungs, which he found strange, as their cell phone signal had been completely lost during their trek.
Why is Sister Hua's voice so clear when she calls now?
"Don't go back to Xiangcheng. I'm on my way to B City. Go to B City and help me sell oranges and water."
Hua Mi briefly explained her plan.
Anyway, Chi Chuan and his friends can't get back to Xiangcheng now, as the entire Xiang B Expressway is blocked and the road conditions are quite complicated.
Selling supplies in City A is no different from selling supplies in City B.
Ikegawa readily agreed, turned around, his eyes squinting from the rain, and could only speak to his companions dragging sacks behind him.
"Sister Hua told us to go to City B. She took oranges and water to City B to sell. We're going to City B."
The group immediately pulled out a wet map, gathered together, determined their location, and then turned around and headed straight for City B.
From their location, it's closer to City B than to go directly to the Xiang B Expressway.
But Hua Mi arrived in City B before them.
She drove her van into City B, a city even more desolate than Xiang City.
In Xiangcheng, a few stubborn buildings can still be seen standing tall, while B City was completely shattered by the earthquake.
There wasn't a single intact house.
There were also cars on the road, driving out of the city here and there, heading towards Xiangcheng.
Hua Mi casually parked the car next to a pile of ruins and waited for Chi Chuan and the others in the van.
The rain was pattering against the car window. Hua Mi tied her shoulder-length hair up and clipped it on top of her head with a large clip. She got up and cooked some noodles in the car's kitchen area.
After thinking for a moment, she added two eggs to the noodles.
She ate noodles, and her two children each had an egg.
On the muddy road outside the window, cars from City B, battered and dented from the earthquake, stubbornly continued to pass by her car one after another.
Hua Mi wasn't in a hurry. After she finished eating, she had a nice nap in the nanny van.
A few hours later, Chi Chuan and the others appeared outside Hua Mi's nanny van, covered in mud and water.
Work has begun!
Hua Mi got up and stood at the door of the van. The moment she opened the door, a whole van full of oranges rushed out from behind her and hit Chi Chuan all over.
"We have too many oranges. Sell as many as you can."
Hua Mi smiled, looking somewhat embarrassed at Chi Chuan, who had almost been tackled by Ju Lang.
The oranges were still rolling out, and behind Chi Chuan, his disheveled friends stared wide-eyed in shock.
Someone secretly picked one up, not caring whether there was mud on the orange peel, and broke it open to eat it.
I was so touched. They hadn't had a proper meal in City A, and after trekking through mountains and rivers, they were so thirsty they could only drink rainwater.
I couldn't be happier to have such sweet and juicy oranges to eat now.
Before everyone could finish being moved, a car stopped by the roadside, seemingly to observe the van and the oranges scattered all over the ground beside it.
A man got out of the car, hesitated, and looked at the bright orange tangerines on the ground.
"You have so many oranges! Are they for sale?"
"Sell! Of course we'll sell!"
Ikegawa realized what was happening and immediately set up shop with his friends to sell oranges.
The price is the same in both cities, 9.9 yuan each.
Because the oranges from Xiangcheng have become a hot topic online, everyone in B city knows the price: 9.9 yuan each. In Xiangcheng, you can get as many oranges as you want.
However, it was quite unexpected and touching to be able to buy oranges at this price at the entrance of City B without even going to Xiangcheng.
The man driving turned and ran back to the car, asking the woman in the passenger seat,
"Honey, how much savings do we have left?"
"Over a hundred thousand? What's wrong?"
The woman propped her head up with her hand, her eyes fixed on the nanny van outside the car.
The man pondered,
"Aren't we heading to Xiangcheng? Let's not go yet. Let's take out the money, buy tens of thousands of oranges, and sell them back in the city."
