"No, no!"
Ge Chuling cried as she watched Wu Shigao's retreating figure disappear into the rain.
She wanted to call Wu Shigao back, but at this moment, she dared not make a sound.
The daughter in his arms started crying loudly because of the gunshot.
She dared not linger, fearing that the group that hijacked the supplies might be so ruthless as to not even spare the children.
Sobbing, Ge Chuling glanced in the direction she was going, then grabbed her child and ran towards City B. She thought that at least she could stay alive and send a message to Miss Hua.
Behind her, Wu Shigao joined the battle, but this did not change much the current one-sided massacre situation.
However, he was much more agile than the elderly clearing team, and he carried the wounded Ikegawa, his seventh aunt's husband, his eighth aunt's husband, his tenth uncle, and others back on his back.
The air was thick with the smell of blood. The clearing team consisted of 12 people, plus a newborn baby, and ten people from Ikegawa's small gang of smugglers, who were transporting oranges in ten trucks.
In the end, only Wu Shigao and Ge Chuling were not hit by bullets, plus the baby in Ge Chuling's arms.
All the survivors around had run away. Wu Shigao ran back, took out the medicine kit from Hua Mifa, took out the hemostatic gel, and applied it to the bullet holes of his companions one by one.
The rain was pouring down, but he had no time to worry about anything else; he was focused solely on saving lives.
The road remained quiet for a long time. Ikegawa and the others, enduring the pain, lay sprawled on the roadside.
Several men who had been shot climbed out from the roadside, and one of them pointed a gun at Wu Shigao's forehead.
"There's a survivor here!"
Some people said in a cold tone that they thought they had killed the clearing team and all of Ikegawa's supply transport team.
“Kill him.”
Another person said in a low voice.
In the rain, Wu Shigao resignedly closed his eyes.
Just as the man pointing the gun at him was about to pull the trigger, Ikekawa, who should have been dead on the ground, suddenly jumped up and tackled the man with the gun.
"Wu Shigao, run! Run!"
Chi Chuan shouted. He actually had no strength left. The only reason he was still holding on was because Wu Shigao had squeezed out a large amount of hemostatic gel for him.
The bullet was inside his body, but the feeling was very strange, as if a lump of iron was stuck in his shoulder blade. However, the cool hemostatic gel also penetrated his body and actually plugged the bullet hole.
Damaged blood vessels inside the body also become clotted.
It hurts, the gunshot wound hurts terribly.
But to say there's any danger to life, that's not the case.
The man who had been tackled to the ground pointed his gun at Ikegawa's stomach and fired several more shots.
The sound of "pat, pat!" echoed through the rainy night.
Hua Mi, who was heading towards the Xiang B Expressway, suddenly stopped.
She cursed under her breath, "Damn it," and hurriedly ran forward.
A flash of lightning streaked across the sky, revealing several men standing in the rain ahead, ten trucks loaded with oranges, and corpses scattered along the roadside.
There was also Wu Shigao kneeling on the ground.
You scum, how dare you touch her people!
Hua Mi took out an AK47, held it in her hand, and without even looking, started firing wildly at the people in the rain.
She used the AK47 like a machine gun, rat-a-tat-tat!
Tang You and his men, who were rushing over from not far away, listened carefully in the rainy night and realized that the gunfire from the garrison had just started, but now someone was launching a counterattack with AK47s.
A garrison officer whispered to Tang You,
"This guy must be crazy."
Who wastes bullets like that these days? It's like they're free.
Whether they were garrisoned or civilians who obtained a firearm through illegitimate means, they all regarded the weapon in their hands as extremely precious.
At this point, everyone knows that a bullet is a life. Although human life is becoming less and less valuable, precisely because of this, more and more people are risking their lives.
A single bullet can do so many things.
For example, right now, 20 bullets can be exchanged for 10 large truckloads of oranges.
Hua Mi, armed with an AK47, riddled the five robbers who stole the oranges with bullets.
She rushed over and fired a shot at one of the robbers who was still breathing.
Seeing this, Wu Shigao lay on the ground, too terrified to utter a sound.
"Are you alright?"
Hua Mi walked over with a gun, bent down and looked at Wu Shigao on the ground.
He quickly scrambled out of the rain and wiped the water off his face.
"I...I'm fine, Miss Hua, I'm fine."
This was the first time Wu Shigao had ever seen a murder so swift and decisive; Hua Mi's stance as she fired the gun resembled that of firing a BB gun.
It lacked the ruthlessness and severity of the group from before.
Yes, Wu Shigao finally noticed something amiss about Hua Mi.
She felt it was easy to kill, even as if human life was worthless.
This is chilling, because nowadays, if someone wants to do evil, they must go through a very painful psychological struggle.
Not everyone is born with the evil in their heart; it must be due to some kind of opportunity or inducement that they reveal their evil in its fullest extent.
In transitioning from a civilized and courteous environment to the current one, even wicked people will go through a less-than-pleasant process of liberation.
Even if it's a robbery, it's not a pleasant one.
There has never been a pleasant way to kill.
But Hua Mi is different. You can still see a very beautiful side to her. In fact, most of the time, she is more sunny and hopeful than anyone else.
