Chapter 1 Deception
The ethereal celestial realm, the Cloud Palace, the Flying Feather Palace.
The Palace Master, Venerable Yusheng, was lazily leaning back on a soft couch, watching the dancers below gracefully perform. Two beautiful maids, one alluring and the other elegant, served him.
A beautiful maidservant bowed her head, intently brewing tea for him, while a seductive maidservant peeled the spirit fruit for him with her slender, jade-like fingers, feeding him as she smiled coquettishly at him with alluring eyes.
"Your Highness, I see that you don't seem to be very interested in their dance. How about I help you bathe in the spirit spring?"
Her voice trembled slightly at the end, as if it had a small hook. If it were a man with a slightly weak will, he probably wouldn't be able to resist and would end up taking advantage of her.
However, Venerable Yusheng seemed completely unmoved by her, instead frowning with disgust and saying, "Get out!"
The alluring maid was immediately terrified, her face turning ashen, and she silently bowed and retreated.
The maid, focused on brewing tea, let out a disdainful smile: "Another fool who doesn't know his own limits!"
"If it weren't for the fact that she happens to have the exact same nose as that person, with her wanton appearance, she wouldn't be worthy of serving the Palace Master at all!"
The tea-making maid was named Lu Feiyu. She was chosen to serve the palace master closely simply because her name contained the character "Yu".
The maids and servants of Feiyu Palace all secretly believed that she was the most favored person by the palace master, and even the name of Feiyu Palace was changed after she arrived.
But only Lu Feiyu herself knew that none of this had anything to do with her. She was only chosen because of that person's influence; one of the characters in that person's name was the same as hers.
However, from the day she became the Palace Master's personal maid, the first time the Palace Master called her, he called her Fei'er, not Fei Yu.
Later she learned that in the eyes of the palace master, she was not worthy of using the character "Yu".
Lu Feiyu was quite sensible and quickly realized her place. She took the initiative to find the manager and asked to change her name to Fei'er.
And although she was nominally a personal maid, she never took the initiative to "be close" to anyone.
She was a smart woman. No matter which man looked at her, she could tell from his eyes whether he felt "love" or "desire" for her.
Or perhaps, he has absolutely no interest in her.
The temple master's feelings for her clearly fell into this last category.
However, being able to stay by the Palace Master's side means she will naturally receive plenty of cultivation resources, and no one will dare to bully her.
Therefore, Fei'er cherishes this hard-won position.
Since the Palace Master has no interest in her, she will do her job well and take good care of the Palace Master's food, clothing, and shelter. She will not presume to approach him and make a fool of herself.
For example, if she had to serve someone, she would choose to make tea, as it is both safe and less annoying.
As for peeling fruit and feeding it to the palace master? It might seem like there's a chance to be embraced and kissed by the palace master at any time, but she has already seen at least a dozen maids who did this task get kicked out.
Amidst the melodious sounds of string and wind instruments, a loud "boom" suddenly echoed from the backyard of Feiyu Palace. A few breaths later, a servant came to report:
"Reporting to Your Highness! Steward Feng has sent me to report that a heavy object has suddenly fallen from the sky into Yingyu Lake..."
The next second, the attendant felt a blur before his eyes, and when he looked again, he found that the palace master had disappeared.
"Suspected to have been transferred from a long distance..." The servant blurted out the words before Fei'er covered his mouth.
The next second, she raised her hand and sprinkled a handful of incense, which bewitched all the dancers present.
"Sister Fei'er, what are you doing?" the servant asked in alarm.
"You'd better not reveal a single word about what happened today, otherwise..." Fei'er made a throat-slitting gesture.
"But this matter caused quite a stir; at least seven or eight servants and attendants in Feiyu Palace saw it," the attendant said dismissively.
"Didn't you notice that the Palace Master threw out the Heavenly Veil just before he left? That's a celestial artifact capable of concealing heavenly secrets!"
"The Palace Master even wants to conceal the secrets of Heaven, which shows how confidential today's events are. I can only pray that the Palace Master will remember our bond as master and servant and spare our lives," Fei'er said in a panic.
The servant then realized the seriousness of the situation and trembled with fear.
However, Feiyu Palace was so large, and they were all maids and servants who had signed slave contracts. Their lives were in the hands of the palace master. Not to mention that they couldn't escape, they didn't even dare to have the thought of escaping.
At the shore of Yingyu Lake, Venerable Yusheng, with a solemn expression, instructed Steward Feng, who was standing guard beside him:
"Immediately have the servants and menial laborers on the periphery spread the word that I, the Palace Master, am enjoying a boat ride on the lake at Feiyu Palace today with my singing and dancing girls."
On a whim, he drew a talisman in mid-air, but accidentally, the mountain-opening talisman exploded, instantly killing more than a dozen singers and dancers, and even killing or injuring countless spirit beasts in the lake.
"Yes, I will take care of it as soon as possible!" Steward Feng was shocked inside, but his expression remained calm.
Having served the Palace Master for over a hundred years, he has weathered all sorts of storms and trials.
Today's events clearly indicate that something was transmitted from afar, and it was an extremely heavy and large object.
However, the defensive array of Feiyu Palace is clearly very strong. Unless the other end of the teleportation array was originally set at the bottom of Yingyu Lake, it would be impossible for that big guy to pass through the defensive array unscathed and land at the bottom of Yingyu Lake.
So after the incident, he immediately stayed by the lake and sent his most trusted attendant to report it.
He didn't even dare to use his divine sense to investigate; any competent manager understands the adage that curiosity killed the cat.
As expected, the Palace Master arrived faster than he anticipated, and immediately sentenced the singers and dancers who had served him that day to death.
As for the fate of the other maids and servants who served closely, Steward Feng dared not predict; everything was up to the Palace Master's discretion.
When Steward Feng left the lakeside to run errands, he looked up and discovered that beneath the defensive array above Feiyu Palace, there was actually a very thin, transparent veil.
With his discerning eye, he naturally understood that this was the Palace Master's personal treasure, the Heavenly Veil, whose function was to conceal heavenly secrets.
At this moment, Manager Feng's heart was once again filled with turmoil!
It seems that the Palace Master is not only trying to keep today's events a secret from outsiders, but also from the Heavenly Dao!
Deceiving the Heavenly Dao is a mysterious and unpredictable matter, and could easily lead to a backlash from the Heavenly Dao. The secret that the Palace Master is willing to suffer the backlash from the Heavenly Dao to keep must be a shocking secret!
Manager Feng felt that not only were the songstresses and dancers out of commission today, but even his own life was in danger!
