Chapter 6 The Second Ray of Faith

Chapter 6 The Second Ray of Faith

Xi'er followed them and walked for about ten minutes using her floating steps. Then she saw a murky puddle that was about half an acre in size.

The puddle was covered with dense, yellowish-brown seaweed. Compared to the original form of the slender demons she had seen, they looked thin and lifeless, clearly indicating long-term malnutrition.

"Welcome to No. 37 Hongshiwan. This is our home. We are all able to survive thanks to the care of Granny Huang," said Girl 606, pointing to a large patch of seaweed in the center of the puddle.

This patch of seaweed looks more like kelp, but it's also the kind that's malnourished.

Even with her naked eye, Xi'er could see that a foul aura was emanating from this puddle.

Just by looking at how densely packed and cramped their living spaces are, one can imagine why there is such foul air.

Xi'er grew up in the Holy Witch Clan's territory, where she sowed seeds and cultivated vegetables and fruits with her mother and the clansmen.

She knew that plants shouldn't be planted too densely, otherwise their roots would become entangled underground and compete for nutrients.

Seedlings that have sprouted from the ground will also shade each other and not get enough sunlight, which will cause the plants to suffer from malnutrition.

Moreover, excessive density will result in a high concentration of exhaust gas, forming the polluted air she sees before her.

"606, why do you live in such a small place? Aren't there any other bodies of water where you can live?" Xi'er asked.

“There’s none left nearby,” Grandma Huang said. “A long, long time ago there were very spacious bodies of water, but unfortunately, it stopped raining, and they all turned into these shallow bays.” A glimmer of light flashed in 606’s eyes, and she sadly lowered her head.

The other children were also a little sad, but they quickly started laughing again.

Xi'er couldn't laugh. She simply couldn't imagine how so many children could survive, crammed together in this murky puddle.

Suddenly, a thought flashed through her mind: if this puddle turned into a clean puddle, would things be better for 606 and the others?

Xi'er is a decisive person; she does what she thinks of.

She raised her hands, quickly forming hand seals while chanting incantations.

A group of demon children saw her body begin to emit a bright light.

Unlike the dim yellow light emanating from them, her light was colorless and transparent, just like the rays of the sun.

Xi'er cast a purification hand seal, and as she activated the seal, the light surrounding her body spread out toward the puddle.

The children of the Fine Demon Clan could not see the foul air floating on the puddle, but they could feel that the surrounding air seemed to have become much fresher.

Everyone couldn't help but gasp for breath.

Colorless light spread into the puddle, and the entire puddle slowly became clear, making the roots of the Little Demon Clan embedded in the crevices of the pebbles deep within the puddle clearly visible.

"My God! Our bay is so clean! Is this still No. 37 Red Stone Bay? I almost don't recognize it!" 606 exclaimed excitedly.

"Someone pinch me? I must be dreaming!" the little boy asked, looking completely bewildered.

The seaweed in the center of the puddle suddenly twisted and turned into a human shape, standing on the water's surface.

Then, with a light-footed movement, she appeared before the children in the blink of an eye.

"Grandma Huang, you're awake?" 606 smiled, her eyes crinkling.

Xi'er was focused on releasing the purification hand seals when she caught a glimpse of a frail old woman in the distance. She didn't stop and continued to finish her work.

Grandma Huang gestured for the children to be quiet, then waited quietly for Xi'er to unleash her magic.

Unlike the children, she possessed a higher level of cultivation, which is why she sensed the air above the puddle becoming pure even in her sleep.

She woke up with a start and saw that the water in the puddle was slowly becoming clear, and the murky matter had condensed into black balls, neatly stacked on the bank.

She had lived for hundreds of years and had never even heard of such a spell, let alone seen it with her own eyes!

This is divine magic; it must be a divine intervention!

When Granny Huang realized this, she immediately scanned her surroundings with her divine sense and saw Xi'er casting a spell on the shore.

She is not a member of the Fairy Demon Clan!

Grandma Huang recognized it at first glance.

So, is she the divine messenger sent by the heavens to save their Demon Clan?

Granny Huang floated in front of Xi'er, staring intently at her as she completed the spell.

Then she immediately knelt down and prostrated herself at her feet:

"Honorable divine messenger, thank you for visiting our barren land and purifying our water source."

From this moment forward, I, your humble servant, vow to be your most devoted servant, serving you faithfully for the rest of my life.

Her performance stunned the children.

They couldn't understand how the passerby who had just been chatting and laughing with them had suddenly become the most honored divine messenger.

They didn't actually understand what a divine messenger meant, but Granny Huang was their most respected elder, and her words were practically like imperial edicts to them.

Since Grandma Huang is kneeling and bowing, they should follow suit; that can't be wrong!

Xi'er saw a group of people kneeling down in a rush. She had been feeling a bit weak from using the purification seal, but now, as a wisp of golden light of faith emanated from Granny Huang's body, she felt much more energetic.

This was the second ray of faith she received.

The first course was given by the high priest.

These children of the Little Demon Clan did not have this; they simply knelt and worshipped along with Granny Huang.

In their eyes, Xi'er was just a newly acquainted friend; where did this light of faith come from?

The high priest, who had been hiding in the shadows, could no longer hide. If he didn't show up soon, the little master would probably be kidnapped by this old woman.
