Chapter 154 Fair Competition

That afternoon, Shen Zhi Qiu had just woken up from her nap. She put on her home clothes and walked to the corner of the stairs when she saw Rong Mo leisurely drinking hot tea with Lu Jia in the living room.

Upon seeing Shen Zhi Qiu appear at the stairwell, Lu Jia immediately stood up and strode towards Shen Zhi Qiu.

"How did you get down by yourself? The doctor advised that you need to be extra careful when walking because your belly is so big."

Lu Jia helped Shen Zhi Qiu downstairs, but couldn't help but scold her softly.

"Okay, okay. I'll call you next time, okay?" Shen Zhi Qiu scratched her head a little embarrassedly.

Sitting on the sofa, Shen Zhi Qiu yawned, still feeling a bit groggy. Leaning back, she looked at Rong Mo and said, "Brother, what brings you here?"

"I've picked out a few of the best postpartum care centers for you, take a look." After Rong Mo finished speaking, he handed a stack of documents to Shen Zhi Qiu as if presenting a treasure.

Shen Zhi Qiu took the document and browsed through it, discovering that each postpartum care center cost over 1 million yuan. She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow; were postpartum care centers really that profitable?

As Shen Zhi Qiu flipped through the pages, she discovered that Rong Mo had thoughtfully marked the advantages and disadvantages of each company in red and blue, so she only needed to focus on the important points.

“Lu Jia and I have just discussed it. No matter which company you choose, we will send an extra nutritionist and two nannies to take care of you in all aspects.”

"Okay, thank you, brother." Shen Zhi Qiu didn't refuse. Although she felt a little pain when she thought about the price, she knew it was her brother's good intention, so she nodded.

"Alright, stop looking, it'll hurt your eyes." Rong Mo smiled and snatched the documents from Shen Zhi Qiu's hands, urging, "Go change your clothes, let's go out for dinner, there's a nice new restaurant."

An hour later, the car stopped in front of a two-story detached villa.

As Shen Zhi Qiu stepped out of the car, her eyes lit up.

The white villa features large areas of floor-to-ceiling windows, through which the natural wood dining table and black leather chairs complement each other perfectly, creating a sophisticated and elegant look for the dining room.

Lu Jia helped Shen Zhi Qiu walk inside, where various art murals and European retro fireplace designs were dazzling.

"Our second-floor terrace is also beautiful. Would you like to dine outdoors?"

A waiter wearing a black bow tie asked with a smile.

"Let's go take a look," Rong Mo said.

Passing through the arched French doorway, they arrived at the beautifully landscaped terrace garden.

Pure white orchids are arranged at varying heights in the middle of the terrace, surrounded by twinkling string lights, creating a wonderful atmosphere.

"Isn't it open for business yet? How come there's no one here?" Shen Zhi Qiu looked around after sitting down. "Did we arrive too early?"

Rong Mo smiled and poured her a glass of warm water. "I've already bought this restaurant. Zhi Qiu, this is a gift from your brother."

"What?" Shen Zhi Qiu stared wide-eyed in shock, her face filled with disbelief.

"It won't officially open for another two days, but I'm showing you around today. Do you like it?" Rong Mo said with a smile.

"I like it. Thank you, brother." Shen Zhi Qiu was a little touched and murmured, "I never thought my family would be so good to me."

Upon hearing this, Rong Mo's expression changed, and he recalled Wei Qiao's earlier mention of how the Shen family had mistreated Shen Zhi Qiu.

Shen Zhi Qiu suddenly realized that her words had upset Rong Mo, so she quickly changed the subject, "Brother, what's the signature dish here? I want to try it."

“Okay, let’s give it a try.” Rong Mo adjusted his state and began to introduce it to Shen Zhi Qiu.

After finishing her meal, Shen Zhi Qiu suggested that she go pick out a crib for the baby and take a walk to digest her food.

Rong Mo took them to a high-end shopping mall in the city.

As Shen Zhi Qiu listened intently to the sales assistant explaining the materials of the crib in front of her, she suddenly smelled a refreshing fragrance.

She frowned; it was him.

As soon as Shen Zhi Qiu raised her head, she met a pair of surprised eyes.

"Zhi Qiu, it really is you!"

Shen Zhi Qiu nodded calmly and said softly, "Hello, Brother Ming Yu. I didn't expect to meet you here."

Si Mingyu glanced at Lu Jia beside her and nodded politely.

“Mr. Rong, hello. I am Zhi Qiu’s good friend, Si Mingyu.” Si Mingyu extended his hand to Rong Mo.

Rong Mo was somewhat surprised. Looking at Shen Zhi Qiu's indifferent attitude, he began to have doubts about this so-called "friend".

He sized up Si Mingyu and saw that he was wearing an expensive dark blue suit, exuding an aristocratic and scholarly air. His speech and behavior were also proper and generous, and it was obvious that he came from a wealthy family.

Noticing that Si Mingyu's eyes seemed to be fixed on Shen Zhi Qiu, Rong Mo coughed lightly and, out of respect for Zhi Qiu, extended his hand to shake hers politely, saying indifferently, "Rong Mo."

"What brings Mr. Si to the capital? What a refined taste to be shopping alone in the maternity and baby section of a mall?" Rong Mo raised an eyebrow and asked casually.

Si Mingyu withdrew his gaze and said gently, "I was eating at the restaurant downstairs when I suddenly saw a figure that looked a lot like Zhi Qiu, so I came up to check. I didn't expect it to really be her."

Rong Mo felt the atmosphere was a bit strange, so he suggested that they sit down in the nearby coffee shop for a drink and to find out more about Si Mingyu.

Shen Zhi Qiu nodded and touched her stomach. "Standing for a long time does make me a little tired now."

Upon hearing this, Lu Jia's expression changed, and he immediately stepped forward to help Shen Zhi Qiu.

Unexpectedly, another hand reached out at the same inopportune moment.

Shen Zhi Qiu was taken aback, then smiled politely and declined, "Thank you, Brother Ming Yu."

Si Mingyu showed no embarrassment at being rejected, nodding as if nothing had happened, and said in a low voice, "Then watch your step."

Rong Mo observed Si Mingyu silently, seemingly lost in thought.

Inside the coffee shop.

As always, Lu Jia placed a cup of hot milk next to Shen Zhi Qiu, her movements practiced and natural.

Shen Zhi Qiu smiled at him, and they remained silent in tacit agreement.

Si Mingyu's brows furrowed, and a trace of sadness flashed in his eyes.

He stared blankly at Shen Zhi Qiu; to be honest, he hadn't seen her in a long time.

She is no longer the little girl who used to follow him around.

Seemingly sensing that the gaze on her had lingered for a long time, Shen Zhi Qiu looked up, and their eyes met. Si Ming Yu's eyes were gentle as water.

"I heard that you and Qingyan are getting a divorce."

Si Mingyu used a declarative sentence. He looked at her, waiting for her reply.

Shen Zhi Qiu nodded, not surprised. After all, it wouldn't be difficult for Si Ming Yu to find out about this.

"Can I compete fairly with Mr. Lu?" Si Mingyu tilted his head to look at Lu Jia, a smile unconsciously spreading across his lips.
