Chapter 199 The Child is Born

At the entrance of the Rong family villa.

Wei Qiao drove straight to the hospital at breakneck speed.

A taxi not far from the intersection immediately followed.

Soon, Wei Qiao parked his car in front of a private hospital, jumped out, and ran straight into the building.

Seeing this, Si Mingyu told the taxi driver to quickly pull over and stop. He got out of the car and followed Wei Qiao at a distance.

After seeing Wei Qiao enter the elevator, Si Mingyu hid and waited outside in the corridor.

Seeing that the elevator had stopped at the 23rd floor, Si Mingyu quickly stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for the 23rd floor.

As Wei Qiao stepped out of the elevator, the operating room door opened.

Rong Mo waited at the door until he saw the nurse bring the baby out, then immediately went over to her.

Lu Jia, who was originally sitting, also rushed forward.

"Congratulations! You have both a son and a daughter! You now have a perfect family!" The nurse smiled and showed them the baby in the swaddle.

"Where is the child's mother? How is she?"

"Where's Mom? Why hasn't she come out yet?"

The two people who had been waiting at the door for a long time had no time to pay attention to the child. They looked at the nurse in unison and asked, their eyes full of anxiety.

The nurse was taken aback; the two people in front of her hadn't even glanced at the child. She pursed her lips in confusion. "The child's mother is still inside; she won't come out until the wound is stitched up. Would you like to see the child first?"

"How is the child's mother? Has the heavy bleeding stopped? Is her condition stable?" Rong Mo was extremely anxious. Before understanding Shen Zhi Qiu's situation, he had no intention of listening to her talk about these things, so he frowned and interrupted her impatiently.

“The doctor said the mother was having severe postpartum hemorrhage, so we were very anxious and worried about the safety of the baby’s mother,” Lu Jia added, looking at her anxiously.

The nurse then realized what was happening and immediately said, "It's stopped. The mother's condition is stable, both mother and child are safe, and they'll be out soon, so don't worry."

Rong Mo and Lu Jia finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Rong Mo calmed down and realized his lapse in composure. He said in a low voice, "I'm sorry, I wasn't very nice just now. My younger sister is inside. I was really worried about her safety, so I spoke in a hurry."

The nurse nodded and said with a smile, "It's alright. It's my fault for not informing you beforehand. I thought you already knew."

Rong Mo then lowered his head and looked at the child who had slowly opened his eyes.

The two children had their round, bright eyes wide open, blinking like the luster of gemstones. They stretched out their chubby little hands and waved them in the air with great effort.

When they saw Rong Mo's face appear above them, the two children paused for a moment, then smiled sweetly, waving their chubby little hands even more enthusiastically in the air.

Rong Mo couldn't help but smile. His eyes reddened slightly, and he subconsciously stretched out a finger. The two children stared with their round eyes as they followed his finger. Then, the two babies simultaneously stretched out a chubby little hand and grasped Rong Mo's finger.

"They've caught me?!"

Rong Mo was overjoyed and tears welled up in her eyes. Her panic from before completely disappeared. She looked at the two children and liked them more and more. She excitedly said, "Look, they're both holding my hands!"

He quickly called Lu Jia, who was still standing there in a daze, to come and see.

"Wait a minute, isn't that right? Aren't babies supposed to cry loudly when they're born? Why aren't they crying at all? They're laughing so happily." Lu Jia leaned closer to take a look.

The two children's skin was still a bit wrinkled, but you could tell that their skin was very fair.

"You were crying your eyes out in the delivery room just now?" the nurse said with a smile. "But you've stopped crying now that you see me!" She then looked at Lu Jia and asked, "Daddy, would you like to hold the baby?"

Since that was the older brother, this must be the husband, right? So the nurse asked directly.

Lu Jia was stunned for a moment, unsure how to respond.

Shen Zhi Qiu has indeed divorced Gu Qing Yan, and they are now together, but is he the father of the child?

Is he considered a stepfather?

But Shen Zhi Qiu and he hadn't registered their marriage, and the timing wasn't right yet. He'd thought about it countless times, even dreamed about marrying Shen Zhi Qiu, and had imagined the wedding scene many times, but it hadn't happened yet...

Shen Zhi Qiu has just gone through a failed marriage and is certainly not ready yet.

So he wasn't in a hurry, and besides, so many years had passed, he wasn't in a rush to get a result. He wanted to wait for Shen Zhi Qiu to recover so that the two of them could spend more time together, even if it meant waiting a few more years. As long as Shen Zhi Qiu was happy, he was fine with it.

"Daddy, are you really not going to hug me?" the nurse teased, noticing he was lost in thought.

Lu Jia pursed her lips, her fingers curling unnaturally.

"What? Are you so happy you've gone mad?" Rong Mo's right hand was still being held by the baby, and he was reluctant to let go, so he let the child hold it. Then he patted the dazed Lu Jia with his left hand. "You're asking me to hold you, so you're holding me! If you won't, I will!" As he spoke, he lowered his head to look at them. "How about Uncle holds you? Do you like that?"

Upon hearing Rong Mo's words, a look of surprise flashed across Lu Jia's face. He hurriedly reached out to hold the baby in his arms, but having never held a child before, he appeared somewhat flustered.

Seeing Lu Jia's somewhat clumsy appearance, the nurse couldn't help but laugh, and then began to teach him how to hold the baby.

Looking at the child in her arms, Lu Jia couldn't help but sniffle, tears almost falling. The baby looked at Lu Jia, seemingly delighted, moving its little legs and waving its little arms, its fingers loosening Rong Mo's hand as if trying to grab Lu Jia's hair.

Seeing the words "Shen Zhi Qiu's baby" on the bracelet, Lu Jia's heart was touched, and he lowered his head, wanting to kiss the baby.

But the nurse immediately stopped him. Seeing their puzzled looks, the nurse explained, "Newborn babies are very fragile and shouldn't be kissed. Adults may carry some viruses."

Rong Mo and Lu Jia nodded in sudden realization, quickly moving their heads away, but keeping their eyes fixed on the child.

"Okay, we need to take the baby away now; we still need to take the baby for a check-up." The nurse smiled and tried to take the baby from Lu Jia's arms. Lu Jia was a little reluctant and asked in confusion, "What kind of check-up is needed? The baby is perfectly fine; he seems very healthy."

“You’re probably overwhelmed with joy,” Rong Mo laughed. “Newborn babies definitely need to have checkups.”

Lu Jia then returned the child to the nurse, feeling embarrassed.

"Which of you will come with us?" the nurse asked, looking at the two of them.
