I had only taken two steps when the phone rang.
"Hello." Shen Zhi Qiu glanced at the phone, walked quickly outside, and then answered it, her tone distant.
"Zhiqiu, why don't you even call me Dad anymore? That's so rude." Shen Yanshan scolded immediately. "Never mind, did you mention what I told you last time to Gu Qingyan?"
“No. He won’t talk to me about business matters.” Shen Zhi Qiu lowered her voice.
"Then why can't you bring it up yourself? Didn't Dad get this land for you? If the Shen family makes money, won't you be able to stand taller in the Gu family?"
"I'll give it a try," Shen Zhi Qiu said dismissively.
"Alright then." Seeing that Shen Zhi Qiu had relented, Shen Yan Shan's tone softened as well. "Remember to take the medicine Dad gave you last time. That stuff is really effective. I'm your father, would I harm you?"
When Shen Zhi Qiu saw him bring up the matter again, she hurriedly said, "Dad, Qing Yan is calling me. I'll go over first."
After hanging up the phone, Shen Zhi Qiu sighed and turned to go back to the living room, only to bump into a solid chest.
"Oh? When did I call you?" Gu Qingyan lowered his head, looking at her with a playful expression.
"Get out of my way, you scumbag."
Shen Zhi Qiu said irritably.
"Who are you calling a scumbag?" Gu Qingyan's heart tightened, and she looked displeased.
"Anyone who cheats on their spouse is a scumbag."
"What evidence do you have that I cheated on you?" Gu Qingyan pursed her lips.
“Xiao Lvcha has already admitted it, Mr. Gu, what are you pretending for?” Shen Zhi Qiu raised her face, looking disdainful.
Upon hearing the term "Xiao the Green Tea," Gu Qingyan frowned. "Speak properly. You're supposed to be a lady from a respectable family. And let me say it again, there's nothing between me and Xiao Wanqing. You're overthinking it."
"Even a dead duck's beak isn't as hard as yours. Your mouth could be made of stainless steel! I should just throw the evidence in your face!" Shen Zhi Qiu was annoyed and turned to leave.
"What evidence? Explain yourself!" Gu Qingyan grabbed her wrist.
