Chapter 256 Yan Yan's identity is now clear

"Wei Qiao!" Chu Xia grabbed Wei Qiao, who was backing away, and cried out in grievance, "Even you won't help me? Am I that hateful?"

Wei Qiao stopped in her tracks, afraid that any sudden movement would reopen the wound that had just stopped bleeding. She shook her head helplessly. "Miss Chu Xia, you know that's not what I meant."

"Then why won't you help me?" Tears streamed down Chu Xia's face.

“Because it’s meaningless and useless,” Wei Qiao said calmly. “Miss Chu Xia, please let go. I can’t help you, please forgive me.”

"Then tell me, what exactly is going on between Rong Mo and Lu Wei..." Chu Xia's voice trembled slightly, her eyes were red, and tears were welling up.

Wei Qiao frowned, interrupting Chu Xia's question. A hint of helplessness flashed in his eyes. "Miss Chu Xia, do you know why President Rong is so angry?" Wei Qiao sighed and said softly.

Chu Xia was somewhat surprised. She looked up at Wei Qiao with a puzzled expression. She knew she had done many wrong things and hurt Rong Mo's heart, but she didn't know what else she didn't know.

“It’s not just that you betrayed him.” Wei Qiao pursed her lips. “Actually, I shouldn’t be telling you this, but I’ve been watching you and President Rong all this time, and you’ve really hurt President Rong too much. Moreover, after you did all sorts of things to hurt him, you even threw away the things that President Rong treasured in his apartment, and you even made those demands of President Rong for your fiancé.”

"Mr. Rong may not hold it against you, but you actually hit Miss Lu based on unfounded suspicions, and repeatedly made unreasonable demands and pressured him! You have greatly disappointed our Mr. Rong. He will only feel that he has misjudged, or rather, been blind, all these years."

Wei Qiao's words pierced Chu Xia's heart like needles.

"I'm sorry..." Chu Xia's voice was filled with regret and self-blame, "I didn't know things would turn out like this... I really regret it..."

Seeing Chu Xia's pained expression, Wei Qiao felt a pang of pity, but still reminded her, "Miss Chu Xia, it's too late for you to regret it now. President Rong has made his decision; he won't turn back."

Just as Chu Xia was about to argue, the bodyguard returned with medical staff.

Wei Qiao took a step back and said to the bodyguard, "Then I'll leave this to you. After Miss Chu Xia's hand is bandaged, you will personally escort her home."

After saying that, before Chu Xia could object, Wei Qiao turned and walked towards the ward.

He has more important things to do.

How exactly did Yan Yan disappear from the hospital room?

Could it be that they escaped through the window?

Wei Qiao stood by the window, carefully observing the marks around the window. There were indeed footprints.

However, the floors here are not low, and even a man would hardly have the courage to climb down through the window.

---------

Downstairs at the hospital.

Rong Mo walked quickly with a cold face.

Rong Mo slowed down when he reached the open space in the parking lot.

He took out a cigarette case from his coat and lit one.

He stood quietly beside the car, leaning against it, one hand in his pocket, the other holding a cigarette. His eyes were lost and forlorn, as if he were deep in thought.

Lu Wei looked at Rong Mo from afar. He was tall and upright, wearing a sharp suit that accentuated his extraordinary demeanor. However, at this moment, he appeared somewhat tired and helpless, as if all his energy had been drained.

Rong Mo took a deep drag of his cigarette and slowly exhaled. The smoke swirled around him, as if telling of his inner sorrow. His eyes were fixed on the distance, yet he seemed to see nothing at all.

Lu Wei sighed and slowly walked over, wanting to give Rong Mo more time to clear his mind.

"I'm sorry." As soon as Lu Wei walked up to Rong Mo, Rong Mo gave her a wry smile and apologized in a low voice.

"Huh?" Lu Wei didn't react for a moment.

“I’m sorry,” Rong Mo looked down at her earnestly, “If I hadn’t texted you, you wouldn’t have made the trip. It’s all my fault that you got beaten up for no reason.”

“Chu Xia was probably angry, so she lost all her rationality. I don’t blame her, let her calm down on her own.” Lu Wei sighed and shook her head helplessly.

"You are very considerate of others, but it's easy to make yourself suffer. Chu Xia is so lucky to have a good friend like you." Rong Mo looked at Lu Wei, admiring the girl's tolerance in his heart.

"I'm afraid it will be hard to go back to the way things were before." Lu Wei brushed her wind-blown hair aside and suddenly saw Lu Jia coming out of the building from earlier, looking anxious.

"Lu Jia?!" Lu Wei waved at Lu Jia and shouted loudly.

Lu Jia turned around, saw Lu Wei, and quickly ran over, her face looking very unwell.

"Are you alright?" Lu Jia ran over to their side, not even having time to greet them, and carefully looked at Lu Wei's face.

"Does it still hurt?" Lu Jia asked with concern. "I'm sorry, I was in a hurry to check the surveillance footage, so I just found out about this."

As she spoke, Lu Jia glanced at Rong Mo with a hint of reproach.

"It's nothing. It was just a misunderstanding. Chu Xia acted impulsively and couldn't control herself. I'm fine." Seeing Lu Jia's ashen face, Lu Wei couldn't help but try to comfort her.

"Don't always put others first in everything. You're a girl too." Lu Jia looked at Lu Wei with a pained expression.

"Okay," Lu Wei smiled and teased, "I had no idea you cared about me so much!"

Lu Jia glanced at her helplessly.

"I'm sorry, I didn't stop it in time, which led to Lu Wei being implicated." Rong Mo threw the cigarette butt on the ground and crushed it out, saying apologetically.

"What surveillance footage were you checking? Did something happen?" Lu Wei didn't want to dwell on the question anymore, so she deliberately changed the subject, shifting their attention to what Lu Jia had mentioned.

Lu Jia glanced at Rong Mo, unsure whether Rong Mo intended to let Lu Wei know about this, so she hesitated and didn't say anything.

“We’re investigating Yan Yan.” Rong Mo pursed his lips and looked at Lu Wei. “Lu Jia and I have some suspicions that Yan Yan is the person we’ve been looking for.”

"What do you mean?" Lu Wei was a little confused. "Yan Yan? Isn't she Zhi Qiu's nutritionist? What happened?"

"It's a long story, but she's disappeared from the ward. I suspect she climbed out the window and escaped through the pipes." Lu Jia's eyes sharpened as he recalled what had happened before.

"You mean Yan Yan? The Yan Yan I know? Can she fly over walls or something?" Lu Wei was even more surprised.
