Upon hearing Xiao Wanqing's name, Zhou Xiaoran frowned, nodded, and said somewhat unhappily, "I wonder what kind of bewitching potion she's given Gu Qingyan!"

The doctor pointed him in a direction, and Gu Qingyan nodded with a gloomy face and walked in that direction.
After exchanging only two sentences, the doctor felt a chill run down his spine. He thought to himself, "No wonder the patient's friend begged him not to mention the child. This guy doesn't seem like a considerate husband at all."
The doctor shook his head; he couldn't handle the household chores, and went off to attend to his own business.
Gu Qingyan walked to the door of the ward and saw Shen Zhi Qiu sleeping peacefully, with Zhou Xiao Ran sitting beside her on a stool. He looked up and saw that there was no one else in the ward, and his expression softened a little.
Before she could ask Si Mingyu where he had gone, Gu Qingyan heard footsteps approaching from afar.
He gently closed the door and turned to see Si Mingyu. Si Mingyu looked at him calmly. Gu Qingyan lowered his head slightly and saw the basin of water and towel in his hand, raising an eyebrow. "These shouldn't be what you're doing."
"You weren't here just now, and the doctor said to get some warm water to wipe Zhi Qiu down; it will make her feel more comfortable," Si Mingyu explained gently, ignoring his provocative words.
"I'm back now, you can give them to me now." Gu Qingyan reached out her hand, wanting to take the basin of water and towel from Si Mingyu's hand.
Si Mingyu handed it to him with a normal expression, "Then I won't disturb you any longer." After saying that, he turned around and was about to leave when he suddenly remembered something. He turned back and looked at Gu Qingyan steadily, saying, "Qingyan, don't let Miss Xiao hurt Zhi Qiu."
Gu Qingyan frowned and said coldly, "Mingyu, I am grateful to you for saving Zhi Qiu, but this matter has nothing to do with you."
Si Mingyu met his gaze and saw the anger in his eyes, but simply said, "Anything related to Zhi Qiu is related to me."
"Si Mingyu," Gu Qingyan said through gritted teeth, "from the moment she married me, she had nothing to do with you anymore."
“As a friend of many years, I cannot let you hurt Zhi Qiu.” Si Mingyu did not meet his anger, but simply said calmly.
Gu Qingyan sneered, "Since when can so-called good friends interfere in other people's marriages? Aren't you afraid of being laughed at if word gets out?"
“Miss Xiao isn’t afraid, and neither am I,” Si Mingyu retorted. “Besides, I’m not the same as Miss Xiao; I’m upright and have nothing to fear.”
"What do you mean by that?" Gu Qingyan frowned and gave him a disapproving look.
"Qingyan, let me be frank. I haven't seen with my own eyes how you've treated Miss Xiao all these years, but the social circle is so small, I've heard a bit about it."
Even if you haven't explicitly stated your relationship with her, everyone assumes she's the person you care about most. You protect her and pamper her, and everyone can see that.

Shen Zhi Qiu was still unconscious, and Zhou Xiao Ran gently held her hand. Hearing a noise, Zhou Xiao Ran turned around and saw Gu Qing Yan, dressed in a black suit, holding a pink basin of water, which looked very incongruous.
