It was late at night, and Gu Qingyan still hadn't found Shen Zhi Qiu's whereabouts. He repeatedly turned on his phone screen, hoping to receive a message from her.
Huang Lin's words kept flashing through his mind: "Young Master, we have checked all the surveillance footage. The last place the young mistress appeared was at the hospital entrance, but she has disappeared since then."
We've deployed our top technical staff, but he still can't find any trace of the young mistress. He's certain that her traces were deliberately erased to prevent us from tracking her down.
Gu Qingyan fell into deep thought. Since marrying him, Shen Zhi Qiu had only had limited contact with people, so it was impossible for her to have such a skilled hacker friend. Even if the Shen family intervened, they couldn't possibly hire a more capable technician than their own. Besides, he had already subtly inquired, and the Shen family didn't know Shen Zhi Qiu's whereabouts.
So, Shen Zhi Qiu really did disappear right at the hospital entrance.
The doctor instructed her to rest in bed for a few days. She was up until the early hours of last night and then disappeared this morning; her body must be exhausted. He felt a growing unease.
"Qingyan." Seeing Gu Qingyan's preoccupied look, Xiao Wanqing gently called his name.
"What's wrong?" Gu Qingyan hurriedly got up and asked with concern, "Are you feeling unwell? I'll call the doctor."
"No, I just called you. You seemed preoccupied. Is something wrong?"
"No. You can rest assured. There's something at the company that I need to take care of." Gu Qingyan didn't tell the truth in order to calm her down.
"If you need to go, then go ahead, don't overwork yourself," Xiao Wanqing said understandingly. Gu Qingyan staying here to take care of her already showed his attitude. As long as she knew that she was still the most important person in his heart, she was at ease.
"Okay, I'll come see you again after I've taken care of things," Gu Qingyan replied, then looked at Zhang Ma, "Zhang Ma, you stay and take good care of Wanqing. If you need anything, just call Huang Lin, and he'll take care of it."
After explaining everything, Gu Qingyan drove straight to Lanling Residential Area.
"Bang, bang, bang," the urgent knocking sounded, startling Zhou Xiaoran.
Having learned from her experience that morning, she walked to the door and asked in a low voice, "Who is it?"
"It's me, Gu Qingyan," a slightly weary voice came.
Zhou Xiaoran frowned, but did not open the door. She said coldly, "President Gu, please leave. Zhi Qiu is not here."
"Could you please open the door for me? I promise I won't make things difficult for you." Gu Qingyan's voice sounded very anxious.
Zhou Xiaoran was a little annoyed. She flung open the door and snapped at him, "Why does President Gu have time to come here to see Zhi Qiu? You've already driven Zhi Qiu away, what are you doing here? Don't you need to take care of Miss Xiao?"
"She stormed off? You know where she went, right? You know, don't you? She's not fully recovered yet, what if something happens to her?" Gu Qingyan suddenly grabbed Zhou Xiaoran's arm and asked anxiously.
"What's the point of asking her where she went now? Mr. Gu, Zhi Qiu is my best friend, but she was afraid you would come to my house and interrogate her about her whereabouts, so she didn't even tell me and just left." Zhou Xiaoran felt very sorry for the pregnant Shen Zhi Qiu, and her eyes reddened. "She has had such a hard time all by herself, and it's all your fault. You have no heart. In the end, Zhi Qiu is your wife, but you made her suffer so much because of Xiao Wanqing."
"Last night was an accident. Wanqing cut her wrists because she was in a bad mood," Gu Qingyan explained in a hoarse voice.
"Mr. Gu, put your hand on your heart and tell me. Is it really enough for Zhi Qiu to run away from home just because of what happened last night? Putting aside what happened before Miss Xiao came back, since she came back, have you ever chosen Zhi Qiu over her?"
Seeing that Gu Qingyan wanted to refute, Zhou Xiaoran interrupted him directly, "If Zhi Qiu hadn't fainted last night and the situation hadn't been urgent, you wouldn't have abandoned Miss Xiao, would you?"
Besides, I heard about what happened at the hospital in the early hours of the morning. When Miss Xiao pressured you to divorce her, you didn't say anything, did you? Mr. Gu, please leave. I don't know Zhi Qiu's whereabouts, and even if I did, I wouldn't tell you.”
After saying that, Zhou Xiaoran closed the door. Normally, she would never dare to talk back to Gu Qingyan like that, but now that Shen Zhi Qiu was missing, she truly hated the instigator in front of her.
Gu Qingyan lowered her head, unable to refute. Seeing the door close, she walked downstairs wearily.
He drove straight back to the Gu family villa.
The house was pitch black and felt very deserted at night.
Upon hearing the sound of brakes, Butler Chen quickly came out. After seeing who it was, he whispered, "Young Master."
"Hmm." Gu Qingyan got out of the car with a cold face and walked towards the stairs.
As if suddenly remembering something, he turned around and called out to Uncle Chen, "Has Shen Zhi Qiu come back today?"
"No, I've been here all day, but the young mistress hasn't come back," Uncle Chen replied respectfully.
Gu Qingyan didn't say anything and went straight upstairs.
In the bedroom.
Gu Qingyan looked at the neatly made bed sheets and walked in with somewhat heavy steps.
He sat on the edge of the bed, took out his phone, and made a call.
"Hello." A deep voice came from the other end.
"Has Zhi Qiu come looking for you?" Gu Qingyan hesitated for a second before finally asking.
"Zhi Qiu is your wife, and you're asking me this in the middle of the night?" the other party said rudely.
“I thought she would look for…” Gu Qingyan suddenly stopped, “Never mind, I don’t think she’ll look for you.”
"Qingyan, I reminded you last night, but you didn't listen. I know Zhi Qiu is missing, and you're looking for her."
