Seeing Lu Jia's expression, Shen Zhi Qiu asked in confusion, "Who is it? What's wrong?"
Lu Jia didn't speak, but pursed her lips, gesturing for Shen Zhi Qiu to take a look herself.
Shen Zhi Qiu stared blankly at the phone screen for a moment.
She picked up her phone and walked quickly towards the garden, only answering the call after closing the door.
"Hello, Mom."
"Zhiqiu, Mom wants to ask you a question." Mu Ziqi hesitated, thinking about how to put her words into words.
“Mom, I know where Gu Qingyan is,” Shen Zhi Qiu said directly.
"Huh?" Mu Ziqi was taken aback by Shen Zhiqi's directness and was momentarily speechless.
"Mom, Gu Qingyan angered Dad so much that he had a heart attack." Shen Zhi Qiu frowned and sighed helplessly.
Mu Ziqi's voice suddenly rose on the other end of the phone: "What?" Her voice was filled with shock and disbelief. "Zhiqiu, are you serious? It was my Gu Qingyan who did it? How is your father now?"
Shen Zhi Qiu had a headache and couldn't help but press her temples. "I'm still recovering. I just went to the hospital for a check-up today, so I won't see him until I get home later."
"So, Qingyan, he..." Mu Ziqi was a little embarrassed about how to continue the question.
"He was locked up by my brother."
Shen Zhi Qiu didn't hide anything and told Mu Zi Qi directly, but fearing they would worry, she added, "But it won't harm his life."
The other side remained silent.
Just as Shen Zhiqi thought Mu Ziqi was going to settle scores with her, a roar came from the other side.
"He deserves to be taught a lesson!" Mu Ziqi shouted angrily. Her voice was filled with heartache and disappointment.
Shen Zhi Qiu clenched her hands, a weight lifted from her heart, but she couldn't help but sigh, "Mom, I'm so sorry. My brother locked him up, but he won't harm him." Her tone was somewhat helpless, "I know you and Dad have always treated me like your own daughter, so I've always tolerated Qing Yan's mistakes. But this time he really went too far. We'll teach him a lesson and let him know his mistake."
“Zhiqiu, I know you are a kind child.” Mu Ziqi’s voice softened a little, and she sighed deeply. “I know that asking you to forgive him is too much to ask. Qingyan went too far this time. You should let him get the punishment he deserves, but I beg you, please don’t hurt him.”
Shen Zhi Qiu was silent for a moment. "Mom, I know." Her voice became more firm. "But don't worry too much. My brother just wants him to reflect on his actions; he won't really hurt him."
"That's good." Mu Ziqi breathed a sigh of relief. "I'll tell Qingyan's father too. He's so worried because he can't get in touch with Qingyan."
Shen Zhi Qiu sighed, "Mom, don't worry. I'll handle it. You and Dad should also take care of yourselves and not worry too much."
After hanging up the phone, Shen Zhi Qiu sighed helplessly. She knew she had to handle this matter as soon as possible, after all, she couldn't let her parents worry too much.
When Shen Zhi Qiu returned to the living room, she found Rong Mo looking at her with a worried expression.
She gave Rong Mo a reassuring look before walking over to Lu Jia and pulling her to sit on the other side of her grandmother.
"Grandma," Shen Zhi Qiu called softly.
"Who are you?" Grandma tilted her head, carefully examining Shen Zhi Qiu. She looked at her with some doubt, then at Rong Mo, whom Shen Zhi Qiu was pulling, and muttered, "You two look quite alike. I remember my granddaughter looks a lot like you."
“Grandma,” Shen Zhi Qiu smiled, stepped forward and took her grandmother’s hand, gently holding it in her palm, and said softly, “Do I look like your granddaughter?”
"Zhi Qiu?" Grandma frowned slightly, as if searching for Shen Zhi Qiu's face in her mind.
After several seconds, she looked up as if suddenly realizing something, and said with a smile, "I knew it! You look so familiar. You're my granddaughter, Zhi Qiu!"
Shen Zhi Qiu and Rong Mo exchanged a glance, and both saw helplessness in each other's eyes.
“Then,” Shen Zhi Qiu said, pulling Lu Jia over so that his grandmother could look at him, “Grandma, do you still remember him?”
Grandma frowned; the face looked somewhat familiar.
"Grandma, I'm Lu Jia." Lu Jia smiled gently and asked her to speak.
"Lu Jia?" Grandma murmured, "Lu Jia? Lu Xiaoyu."
Then, with a sudden realization, he smiled and said, "I know, you're Lu Xiaoyu's father!"
Grandma smiled smugly, as if waiting for everyone to praise her for having a good memory.
Shen Zhi Qiu burst into laughter, then clutched her stomach and collapsed onto the sofa.
"Grandma, I'm Lu Xiaoyu's brother, not his father." Lu Jia's face was full of black lines, but she was helpless.
"Oh, oh," Grandma nodded, "Then it seems I haven't seen you in so long, I must have misremembered."
"Grandma, are you tired? Would you like some strawberries?" Rong Mo suppressed a laugh and tried to distract his grandmother.
Grandma smiled and nodded, saying like a child, "Then you should eat something sweeter."
"Okay, it'll definitely be sweet." Rong Mo smiled as he stood up, rolled up his sleeves, and prepared to go to the kitchen to wash the fruit.
"Brother, I'll go." Shen Zhi Qiu pursed her lips. She seemed to have never seen Rong Mo do housework or wash fruit before, and she felt a little embarrassed.
Lu Jia had already stood up. "I'll go."
"Just sit still and keep Zhi Qiu's grandmother company. It's important to make the old lady happy," Rong Mo said in a low voice.
He gently patted Lu Jia on the shoulder, gesturing for him to sit back down on the sofa.
Shen Zhi Qiu gave Rong Mo a grateful look.
Rong Mo smiled as he looked at her, affectionately patting Shen Zhi Qiu's hair. "Aunt Zhao has stewed your favorite bird's nest milk soup. I'll serve you a bowl later," Rong Mo said softly, his voice full of tenderness and concern.
Shen Zhi Qiu smiled and nodded.
Grandma overheard their conversation and, smiling, asked, "Then I want a bowl too."
"Alright, alright, two bowls." Rong Mo replied with a smile.
He turned and walked toward the kitchen.
Through the glass door, Shen Zhi Qiu watched Rong Mo's busy figure in the kitchen, her heart filled with happiness and emotion.
This was Rong Mo's first time meeting his grandmother, but he was very kind to her, patiently chatting with her, and even willing to go to the kitchen to help her spend more time with him.
A warm feeling welled up in Shen Zhi Qiu's heart. Lu Jia took her hand at the right moment and gestured with his eyes that he understood what she was thinking.
Shen Zhi Qiu pursed her lips, and seeing her grandmother's happy expression, she couldn't help but show a satisfied smile as well.
