"Hmm?" Shen Zhi Qiu narrowed his eyes and turned to look at her.
"I want you to torture Gu Qingyan properly!" Gu Ningning roared through gritted teeth when Gu Qingyan was mentioned.
Shen Zhi Qiu didn't speak, scrutinizing her face, trying to see what she wanted to say.
"I've already given you the ruby necklace, so I have nothing left to give you." Gu Ningning looked at her and pursed her lips. "But I hope you can teach him a lesson!"
"Why?" Shen Zhi Qiu asked, intrigued and somewhat puzzled.
"I hate him!" Gu Ningning's eyes flashed with intense hatred. "He sent me to the training camp and made me suffer so much for you. Later, when your brother drove me to the brink of despair, he actually used me to blackmail my father..."
Gu Ningning took a deep breath. "Forget it, his crimes are too numerous to mention. Just thinking about him annoys me."
"What do you want me to do?" Shen Zhi Qiu's lips curled into a mocking smile.
"Beating him is fine, locking him up until he dies is fine too," Gu Ningning said bitterly. "That way, it won't be a waste of my time returning the necklace to you."
“It has nothing to do with the necklace.” Shen Zhi Qiu’s expression was somewhat indifferent. “It was originally bought by Gu Qing Yan and given to me. You just took it, it doesn’t really belong to you. Besides, how I treat Gu Qing Yan has nothing to do with the necklace.”
Gu Ningning frowned, about to say something, when she heard arguing coming from the doorway.
Rong Mo, who was standing at the door, opened the ward door and walked out.
"What's going on?" Rong Mo had just asked when he saw Si Mingyu standing in front of him.
"Hello, Mr. Rong." Si Mingyu was using crutches and appeared to be undergoing rehabilitation training.
"I heard arguing just now, and the voices sounded a bit like Ningning, so I came to check. I didn't expect to find you here," Si Mingyu said directly. "What happened to Gu Qingyan?"
"He's unconscious." Rong Mo frowned, somewhat unwilling to say more.
"Brother, what's wrong?" Shen Zhi Qiu also came out, and was stunned when she saw Si Ming Yu.
Si Mingyu had lost a lot of weight, and his hair had grown quite a bit due to his hospitalization. His face remained handsome and resolute, with a youthful air about him. Although he was using crutches, his posture remained upright, and his aura had not diminished in the slightest.
"Brother Mingyu." Shen Zhi Qiu looked at him, feeling a sense of guilt as she gazed at the cane in his hand.
"Zhiqiu, it's been a long time. How have you been?" Si Mingyu asked gently, his smile still warm, as if nothing had happened.
"It's fine." Shen Zhi Qiu gave a wry smile, unable to tell him what had happened to her.
"That's good." Si Mingyu smiled gently. "Take good care of yourself."
“Yes.” Shen Zhi Qiu nodded. “You too.”
“Zhi Qiu, I know that from my perspective I shouldn’t say too much, but,” Si Mingyu hesitated, considering how to begin.
"Hmm?" Shen Zhi Qiu looked up at him.
"It's best not to go too far with Qingyan's matter," Si Mingyu finally spoke up. "Even for the sake of Gu Jia's parents, don't go too far. They only have this one son. Besides, he is still the father of your child. Although you are divorced, you should let him off the hook for the sake of your past relationship. At least, don't let it escalate to the point of death."
"Gu Qingyan fell down the stairs and hit her head." Shen Zhi Qiu gave a wry smile. "You think I had someone beat her up?"
Seeing the suspicious look in Si Mingyu's eyes.
Shen Zhi Qiu continued, "He had an argument with Gu Ningning, Gu Ningning fell from the building, he rushed downstairs to check on her, but he fell and hit his head, causing a concussion. I didn't have someone hit him."
"I'm sorry, I was just making assumptions," Si Mingyu said apologetically.
"I'm just a little worried that you might do something irreversible," Si Mingyu continued.
"Yes, I know." Shen Zhi Qiu nodded knowingly, without saying anything more.
Seeing that he couldn't be of any help here, Si Mingyu turned around to say goodbye.
"Brother Mingyu." Shen Zhi Qiu suddenly called out to him.
"What's wrong?" Si Mingyu turned around with some surprise.
There's something I want to ask you.
"you say."
"Can you keep Gu Qingyan's matter a secret for now?" Shen Zhi Qiu frowned. "I didn't expect it to turn out like this. Gu's parents are getting old, and I don't want them to worry. I plan to arrange for someone to send Gu Qingyan back to Nancheng once he recovers."
“Okay.” Si Mingyu agreed without hesitation.
"Thank you, Brother Mingyu," Shen Zhi Qiu said gratefully.
“There’s no need for such formality between us.” Si Mingyu’s eyes held a hint of melancholy. He and Shen Zhiqi had become increasingly polite to each other, which was not what he wanted.
Seeing that Shen Zhi Qiu remained silent, Si Ming Yu smiled knowingly and said, "Then I'll go back to my room first."
Watching Si Mingyu's retreating figure, Rong Mo said in a low voice, "The overseas medical team has been trying to find a solution, but Si Mingyu's leg may really not be able to recover to what it was before."
"What?" Shen Zhi Qiu looked up in surprise. "I thought he..."
“I didn’t want you to worry before, but you’ll find out about this sooner or later.” Rong Mo nodded.
"In the end, it's all my fault." Shen Zhi Qiu looked at Si Ming Yu's back and felt extremely guilty.
Lu Jia came out, patted Shen Zhi Qiu on the shoulder, and gently comforted her.
"I will have the medical team do their best, so don't feel too much pressure," Rong Mo said.
