"Mr. Gu, you'd better come back with us obediently. You have nowhere to run."
The bodyguard walked up the stairs with a cold smile and spoke to Gu Qingyan, who was standing on the edge of the roof railing.
Gu Qingyan stood by the railing on the rooftop, looking down at the scenery below. He was filled with hesitation and fear, but he knew he had to face the predicament before him. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, but looking at the bodyguards outside, he felt a chill run down his spine.
Gu Qingyan stood on the rooftop, her heart filled with despair.
He knew that jumping from here would only mean certain death. However, he was truly unwilling to give up like this; he really didn't want to go back to the ward and live that life of imprisonment.
Suddenly, he noticed a platform on the floor below the rooftop, connected to a hospital room window. A thought struck him, and he immediately had an escape plan. He decided to use the platform to climb out of the window and then figure out how to get downstairs.
"Stop delaying, Mr. Gu. You have to accept your fate when the time comes. You can't just jump off like that!" The lead bodyguard shouted sarcastically at Gu Qingyan.
Gu Qingyan pursed her lips, trying her best to stall, "My legs are a little weak, wait a moment."
"Haha," the bodyguard laughed smugly, joining the others behind him in mocking, "Hey, you guys know what? I heard this guy is the president of some group, but it seems he's nothing special, a coward, not even as good as us!"
"Of course! If he were really capable, how could he have been imprisoned for so long without any ability to save himself? He's probably just a good-for-nothing!"
"Of course it is! Look at him, his legs are even weak, haha! What a spineless coward!"
"Yeah, he knew he couldn't escape but still tried to run away. I think it's because Brother Wei didn't hit him hard enough during the day, which is why he still had the energy to escape!"
"Next time I see Brother Wei, I must have a good talk with him and tell him to be ruthless!"
"Hahahaha, yes, yes, that's it!"
The mocking voices of the bodyguards outside kept reaching Gu Qingyan's ears.
Gu Qingyan frowned but didn't say anything. He tilted his head slightly and saw a narrow window sill on each side of the platform. He silently calculated that as long as he jumped onto the platform and tried to stand on tiptoe, he could reach the window of the ward.
Seeing that Gu Qingyan wouldn't be able to get out anytime soon, the man standing behind the lead bodyguard said, "Come on, brother, let's have a smoke first, and we'll talk about it when that Mr. Gu's legs have calmed down. Anyway, he can't escape now. As long as we guard this only exit, we'll be fine."
As he spoke, he lit a cigarette for the leading bodyguard.
"Yeah, he can't escape anyway, haha, let's have a smoke first." The lead bodyguard took the cigarette, chuckled, and started gossiping with them.
Gu Qingyan knew his chance had come. While they were chatting, he took a deep breath, then leaped onto the platform. Fortunately, he landed safely.
Gu Qingyan breathed a sigh of relief, then quickly ran to the windowsill on the right. He tried to stand on tiptoe, gripped the windowsill tightly with both hands, and slowly leaned forward.
Because he had been injured by Wei Qiao during the day, he felt pain throughout his chest. He calmed himself down and vigorously swung his legs, letting them swing in the air, searching for a foothold.
Finally, after repeated efforts, his left foot reached the frame of the ward window. He pushed off with all his might, straightening his body upwards at the same time, and in the next second, he successfully squeezed into the ward.
Fortunately, it was an empty hospital room, otherwise it would have been discovered.
Gu Qingyan was secretly delighted. He lay on the floor of the ward, panting heavily. He felt his heart pounding, and he knew he had already succeeded more than halfway.
After resting for a few seconds, he quickly stood up, walked to the ward door, pushed it open, and cautiously peeked out. He carefully observed the long corridor; it was very quiet, and there was no one there even in the middle of the night. He held his breath and walked along the corridor for a while until he finally saw the elevator. He quickly pressed the elevator button, and the elevator doors slowly opened. Fortunately, it was empty.
Gu Qingyan slipped into the elevator and pressed the button for the first floor. As the elevator descended, his emotions gradually calmed. He knew he had successfully escaped the hospital; his next task was to find the exit as quickly as possible and leave this dangerous place.
The elevator stopped on the first floor, and the doors slowly opened. Gu Qingyan stepped out of the elevator into a large lobby. He saw a door at the far end of the lobby with the words "Emergency Exit" written on it. Overjoyed, he rushed over and pushed the door open.
Outside the door was a dimly lit staircase leading directly to the underground parking lot. Gu Qingyan hurried down the stairs and saw a delivery person getting off his electric scooter, carrying the food to make deliveries.
He ran over and grabbed the delivery guy.
Before long, Gu Qingyan had put on a deliveryman's uniform and then rode away from the hospital on a deliveryman's electric scooter.
Once outside the parking lot, he drove along the road, taking a deep breath. He knew he had successfully escaped the hospital; all he needed to do now was find a safe place to rest.
Gu Qingyan searched for a long time before finally spotting a brightly lit late-night food stall.
He quickly parked his car and walked over, wanting to borrow someone's phone.
He looked around and walked to a table full of young girls.
With his handsome appearance, Gu Qingyan answered the phone without any trouble. He smiled and thanked them, then walked to the side and dialed a familiar number.
"Hey, this is Gu Qingyan. I have no choice but to ask you for help now!" Gu Qingyan said in a low voice.
"Qingyan?" The person who answered the phone was stunned for a moment before hurriedly asking, "Where are you? Give me your location, quickly."
"Let me take a look," Gu Qingyan frowned, then turned to look at the sign of the late-night snack shop and the street address written next to it, and then quickly reported it over.
“But this place is too conspicuous. I’ll wait for you in a darker spot nearby, and I’ll park a yellow electric scooter on the side of the road. When you see the scooter, stop and look for me. Remember, only you can come alone.” After saying that, Gu Qingyan hung up the phone.
