Chapter 4 Grandpa Stands Up for Her

Shen Zhi Qiu casually chose a limited edition item from this spring, and then carefully selected a round pearl necklace to match her black dress.

She let her long, black hair fall casually over her shoulders and touched up her makeup with the loose strands in front of the mirror.

"Knock, knock, knock," Shen Zhi Qiu heard someone knocking on the door. She asked in confusion, "What is it?"

"Young Madam, the master's driver is already waiting for you at the door. Please get ready and come downstairs."

"Okay, I understand, Aunt Zhang." Shen Zhi Qiu picked up her bag and opened the door.

As soon as she came downstairs, she saw that annoying figure sitting on the sofa in the living room, her eyes filled with undisguised jealousy as she watched Shen Zhi Qiu come down.

Shen Zhi Qiu completely ignored her and walked straight towards the entrance.

She had intended to wear high heels, but after thinking about the baby in her belly, Shen Zhi Qiu chose to change into a pair of exquisite flat shoes instead.

Pushing open the door, Shen Zhi Qiu was stunned for a moment; Gu Qing Yan was also standing at the door.

Hearing the sound, Gu Qingyan turned around and glanced at her.

One glance was all it took to make me unable to look away.

What catches the eye is a delicate face, with skin as smooth and lustrous as jade, gentle eyebrows and eyes that sparkle like stars, clear and bright, and slightly parted cherry lips. Strands of black hair gently brush against her cheeks in the wind, adding a touch of charm.

She wore a black dress today, revealing her beautiful shoulders and neck. Her fair skin looked even more radiant and translucent under the black dress, and the white pearls and diamonds adorning the hem of the dress made her look even more noble and elegant.

Although Gu Qingyan never said it, he always liked Shen Zhi Qiu's simple and natural look. She only needed a little makeup to be captivating.

Shen Zhi Qiu accurately caught the fleeting look of amazement in Gu Qing Yan's eyes.

In the past, she would have been shy and secretly pleased, but things are different now.

She asked somewhat coldly, "What are you doing here?"

Gu Qingyan was annoyed by her coldness. "Shen Zhi Qiu, you have to know your limits when you're being unreasonable! I've spoiled you too much all the time."

Shen Zhi Qiu curled her lips slightly. "Oh? Mr. Gu spoils me a lot? How come I didn't know that?"

"Shen Zhi Qiu, take a good look at your entire outfit. Your bag is a limited edition I photographed for you when I was on a business trip in France; it's worth over a million. And this pearl necklace is also quite valuable..."

Gu Qingyan loosened his tie impatiently and said with a frown.

Shen Zhi Qiu smiled and said sarcastically, "So, Mr. Gu's so-called pampering me means buying me luxury goods? You're so shallow."

This was the first time Gu Qingyan had been called superficial, and she was immediately displeased. With a cold face, she opened the car door and got in.

"Uncle Zhang, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting." Shen Zhi Qiu smiled at the driver, Uncle Zhang, her expression softening.

"Young Madam, please get in the car." Uncle Zhang bowed slightly and opened the car door for Shen Zhi Qiu.

Shen Zhi Qiu sat down, deliberately maintaining a certain social distance from Gu Qing Yan.

"Don't talk nonsense in front of Grandpa." Gu Qingyan resumed his aloof and noble demeanor, as if he wasn't the one who had been a little emotional just now.

"What? You dare to do it but not take responsibility? Is the president of Gu's Group so irresponsible?" Shen Zhi Qiu chuckled.

"What's wrong with you? Are you on your period? You're so irritable." Gu Qingyan looked at her with a probing gaze.

"Heh," Shen Zhi Qiu rolled her eyes at him, annoyed. What he was saying meant he had no idea when her period was.

"Alright, stop fooling around in front of outsiders. That's enough." Gu Qingyan leaned closer and whispered in her ear. He didn't want the driver to gossip to his grandfather.

"Then you should agree to my suggestion from last night. It's better for everyone," Shen Zhi Qiu said softly.

"Don't even think about it! You'd better give up on that idea as soon as possible!" Gu Qingyan's eyes darkened as he coldly replied.

Shen Zhi Qiu looked up and saw that the driver, Uncle Zhang, was looking at the two of them through the rearview mirror. Afraid that her grandfather would worry, Shen Zhi Qiu didn't say anything and turned her head to look out the window.

The car soon arrived at Grandpa's place.

As soon as the car came to a stop, Gu Qingyan opened the door and got out.

Shen Zhi Qiu sighed. As expected, she didn't want to be in the same space as her.

"Young Madam, please get out of the car." Before she could react, Uncle Zhang had already opened the car door for her.

Shen Zhi Qiu carefully stepped out of the car and walked towards the living room of the villa.

From afar, she saw Gu Qingyan sitting on the sofa, his long legs casually crossed, his custom-made high-end suit outlining his strong figure. He turned his head to look out the window, the curve of his chin deep and perfect.

Shen Zhi Qiu was somewhat lost in thought. She imagined in her mind that if the child in her belly was a son, he would be very handsome if he looked like his father, and if it was a daughter, she would be very beautiful.

"Zhiqiu!" Grandpa's hearty laughter came from behind.

Shen Zhi Qiu turned around and saw an elderly man with gray hair walking briskly down the stairs. He stood up straight, his voice was loud and clear, and he exuded a calm and dignified aura.

He walked over with a smile and invited Shen Zhi Qiu to sit down next to him.

"Zhiqiu, you've arrived so quickly. Tell Grandpa what you'd like to eat, and Grandpa will arrange it." The old man stroked his bronze chin and thick beard, his eyes practically sparkling with laughter.

"It's alright, Grandpa. I'm here to keep you company. I'll eat anything." Shen Zhi Qiu replied obediently.

Grandpa glanced at Gu Qingyan, his smile vanished, and he suppressed his anger as he said to him, "Come out with me."

Turning around, she resumed her gentle and kind demeanor. "Zhi Qiu, why don't you sit here and rest for a while? Sitting is tiring. I need to talk to Qing Yan about something."
