Chapter 408 Shen Zhi Qiu Arrives at the Temple

"Lu Wei, where are you going?" Rong Mo frowned, somewhat worried.

"I want to go back to the beach and watch the search and rescue team work with my own eyes." Lu Wei's tone was firm. "No matter what, I must stay until the very end."

Upon hearing this, Shen Zhi Qiu glanced at Lu Wei, then instructed Wei Qiao, "Wei Qiao, arrange for someone to take Lu Wei there. Leave some people there to take care of her."

"Yes, Miss." Wei Qiao looked in Rong Mo's direction and saw Rong Mo nod in agreement, so he quickly replied.

"Thank you." Lu Wei did not refuse, but her eyes were downcast and she looked very lonely.

Soon, Wei Qiao made arrangements to come in and inform Lu Wei.

Shen Zhi Qiu held Lu Wei's hand, and the two looked at each other, encouraging one another. As long as they hadn't seen the body, they still held onto a sliver of hope.

"Zhiqiu, I'll go first," Lu Wei said solemnly. "No matter what, you must take good care of yourself."

After saying that, Lu Wei turned and walked towards the main gate, quickly got into the car and left.

“Brother, I have to go too. Otherwise it will be too late to climb the mountain today.” Shen Zhi Qiu checked the time and said to Rong Mo, “The masters in the temple are really effective. I have been searching online for a long time. Many families of missing people have gone to the masters for help. I believe that as long as I am sincere enough, I will definitely be able to find Lu Jia.”

“Alright,” Rong Mo gently stroked Shen Zhi Qiu’s hair, his heart heavy, but he still instructed Wei Qiao to prepare to depart.

"The car is ready, Miss, we can leave at any time," Wei Qiao said to Shen Zhi Qiu.

Shen Zhi Qiu nodded, indicating that she understood. She took a deep breath and turned to leave.

Rong Mo watched Shen Zhi Qiu's retreating figure, his heart filled with worry and helplessness. He knew Shen Zhi Qiu's feelings for Lu Jia were deep, and he understood her current feelings. However, he also knew that finding a missing person was no easy task.

He feared even more that what awaited Shen Zhi Qiu was deeper despair.

The car slowly drove out of the villa and headed towards a temple in the mountains outside the capital. Shen Zhi Qiu sat quietly in the car, her hands clasped together, her eyes closed in prayer. Her heart was filled with longing and worry for Lu Jia.

It wasn't until the afternoon that the car finally arrived at the temple gate.

"Miss, we've arrived." Wei Qiao opened the car door and said to Shen Zhi Qiu.

Shen Zhi Qiu stepped out of the car. The temple was very quiet and solemn, which made people feel peaceful and serene.

As soon as she reached the steps leading up the mountain, Shen Zhi Qiu knelt down devoutly, clasped her hands together, closed her eyes and kowtowed. Then she got up, climbed the next step, and knelt down to kowtow again.

"Young Miss!" The bodyguard who drove Shen Zhi Qiu here was stunned. He stepped forward to stop her, but Wei Qiao immediately stopped him and whispered, "Don't disturb Young Miss. You can all wait down the mountain. I'll accompany Young Miss to the meditation room."

Shen Zhi Qiu seemed not to hear them. She continued her ascent up the stone steps, bowing with each step. Though her movements were slow, they were filled with determination and devotion. She had only one wish: to ask the master to help her find Lu Jia and ensure his safety.

Wei Qiao silently followed behind Shen Zhi Qiu, watching her devout figure, his heart filled with respect and emotion. He understood her feelings. He decided to do his utmost to help Shen Zhi Qiu find Lu Jia and relieve her of her pain and torment.

When Shen Zhi Qiu finally reached the top of the stone steps and arrived at the temple at the summit, she was exhausted and covered in sweat. But she had no time to rest and quickly went inside. Seeing that the incense and candles in front of the Buddha statue were already lit and the smoke was rising, Shen Zhi Qiu suddenly felt as if she had seen hope.

She stepped forward, knelt on the prayer mat before the Buddha statue, reverently clasped her hands together in front of her chest, gently touched her forehead to the ground, and closed her eyes in prayer. Her face radiated reverence for the Buddha, and her lips trembled slightly, as if she were silently reciting her heartfelt wishes.

The last rays of the setting sun streamed through the half-open window, bathing the room in a shimmering glow of the incense and candles before the Buddha statue. The rising smoke mingled with the sunset's rays, creating a sacred and serene scene. Shen Zhi Qiu's prayers echoed within the room, gradually fading into the distance before disappearing completely.

At this moment, a white-bearded monk slowly walked out from behind. He had a kind smile on his face. Seeing Shen Zhi Qiu kneeling devoutly, he said softly, "Benefactor, it is already too late today. If you have any requests to Buddha, please go to the meditation room to rest first."

Hearing the voice, Shen Zhi Qiu slowly opened her eyes. She immediately recognized the white-bearded monk as the revered master. She said softly, "Thank you, Master. I will come back to seek your guidance again tomorrow morning."

The master nodded, and a young monk of about ten years old stepped forward, his face still bearing an innocent smile. He respectfully said to Shen Zhi Qiu, "Benefactor, please follow me." With that, he turned and led Shen Zhi Qiu and Wei Qiao toward the meditation room.

Shen Zhi Qiu rose and slowly withdrew, Wei Qiao following closely behind. The two followed the young monk through the courtyard to a quaint meditation room. The young monk opened the door and respectfully invited Shen Zhi Qiu and Wei Qiao inside. The meditation room was simply yet elegantly furnished, with a bed covered by a thick straw mat and a clean cotton quilt on it. A potted green tree stood in the corner, adding a touch of life to the room. Although simple, it was very clean.

Shen Zhi Qiu entered the meditation room and said gratefully to the young monk, "Thank you, little master." The young monk smiled slightly, put his hands together in return, and said, "You're too kind, benefactor. If you need anything, please feel free to call me." After saying that, he turned and left the meditation room, standing outside waiting for Wei Qiao to come out.
