Chapter 419 Gu Qingyan's Downfall

Gu Qingyan stood there, his figure appearing lonely and desolate. He stood at the villa's entrance, his eyes revealing a deep sense of defeat. He had once been the pride of the Gu Group, an object of admiration for all, but now he had fallen to such a state. A chill ran through him, his heart filled with disappointment and anger.

The bodyguard watched Gu Qingyan's retreating figure, his heart filled with mixed emotions. Over the years, he had worked for the Gu family and witnessed Gu Qingyan's rise and fall. He wanted to offer Gu Qingyan some words of comfort, but he didn't know what to say.

Gu Qingyan stood there blankly for a long time, then slowly turned around, his eyes now calm. He looked at the bodyguard and said calmly, "Go back and tell my mother that I will remember everything that happened today. I will let her know that I can live a good life without the Gu Group."

His voice wasn't loud, but it was full of determination and confidence, as if he truly believed he could leave the Gu family. After speaking, Gu Qingyan turned to leave.

But what he didn't know was that without this identity, he was nothing.

"Mr. Gu, where are you going?" The bodyguard asked anxiously, quickly stopping him. He didn't know Gu Qingyan's current plans and was worried that he might do something impulsive, which would be difficult to explain to the Gu family.

"I'm going to see a friend." Gu Qingyan didn't turn around; his voice was somewhat cold.

"I'll drive you there," the bodyguard said after a moment's hesitation. He had just heard Gu Qingyan say that he wouldn't ride in a car worth less than a million, so he hesitated before speaking.

"Okay." Gu Qingyan glanced back at him, then looked at the car not far away. He frowned, but ultimately didn't argue anymore.

As the car slowly came to a stop at the entrance of the Blue Domain, Gu Qingyan opened the car door and turned to the bodyguard, instructing him, "You wait for me here. You don't need to come in with me. I'll be out soon." His voice was deep and firm, revealing an unquestionable authority.

"Okay, Mr. Gu." Although the bodyguard was a little confused, he observed that there seemed to be only one entrance and exit, so he agreed.

Gu Qingyan got out of the car, straightened his slightly disheveled suit, and strode towards the gate of the Blue Domain.

Arriving at the familiar private room, Gu Qingyan pushed open the door and walked in without a word. A faint aroma of alcohol filled the room, and as soft music began to play, Gu Qingyan felt he could finally breathe a sigh of relief. He walked to the window, quietly gazing outside, a complex mix of emotions welling up within him.

Soon, the manager came in, brought Gu Qingyan several bottles of his favorite wine, and then left. Gu Qingyan didn't say anything, but simply picked up the wine glass on the table and drank it all in one gulp. The cold liquid went down his throat, bringing a slight sting and bitterness. He gave a bitter smile, feeling like a joke. He used to be so high and mighty, but now he had fallen to such a state.

A short while later, the door to the private room was pushed open forcefully, and Meng Yunche rushed in. He glanced at the scene inside and saw Gu Qingyan sitting alone on the sofa in the corner, with several empty wine bottles and a broken wine glass on the coffee table in front of her. Shards of the wine glass were scattered on the dark carpet, and he couldn't help but frown.

Meng Yunche suppressed his displeasure but still asked with concern, "Qingyan, what's wrong? I heard from the manager that you came alone and started drinking alone. What happened?"

Gu Qingyan raised his head, glancing at Meng Yunche with somewhat unfocused eyes. He didn't speak, but silently picked up his wine glass and drank it all in one gulp. The wine dripped down his chin, staining his shirt and forming a dark mark.

Suddenly, Gu Qingyan slammed the wine glass to the ground, shards of glass scattering everywhere. His movement was so swift that Meng Yunche was startled.

"What's wrong with you?" Meng Yunche asked with some dissatisfaction. "Did you come here specifically to smash a cup? Are you just bored and have nothing better to do?" His tone revealed a hint of reproach.

Gu Qingyan glanced at Meng Yunche with some displeasure and said, "I'm feeling annoyed." His voice was low and indistinct, as if he were talking to himself.

"You're upset so you come here to vent?" Meng Yunche stood up abruptly. "That's ridiculous! Go ahead and vent your frustrations yourself. I don't have time to play along with your crazy antics." He turned to leave, but as he closed the door, he said to Gu Qingyan, "Remember to settle the bill before you leave."

"I have no money." Gu Qingyan shrugged indifferently.

"If you're going to complain about being poor, at least find someone who doesn't know you to complain to." Meng Yunche was speechless.

Gu Qingyan picked up another glass of wine and drank it all in one gulp. Then he smashed the glass against the wall with force, looked at Meng Yunche with a somewhat provocative look, and reiterated, "I have no money now, I'm a penniless pauper."

"Crazy!" Meng Yunche scoffed speechlessly. "I'm too lazy to talk to a drunkard. When you leave, I'll have the manager come and settle your bill."

"I've told you twice already, I have no money!" Gu Qingyan snapped, throwing the glass in her hand. Meng Yunche dodged quickly to avoid being hit, and his anger flared up as well. "Gu Qingyan, what the hell are you doing?!"

Meng Yunche stormed back and began to berate Gu Qingyan.

"Wanqing is dead." Gu Qingyan slowly raised his head, his eyes already wet with tears.

These words were like a bombshell, instantly stunning Meng Yunche. He stared wide-eyed at Gu Qingyan, as if he couldn't believe his ears.

"What did you just say? Wanqing is dead?" Meng Yunche's voice trembled slightly; he simply couldn't believe it.

Gu Qingyan didn't answer, but silently lowered his head. Instantly, tears streamed down his cheeks and dripped onto the carpet. His shoulders trembled uncontrollably, and he was enduring immense pain.

"Wanqing was thrown into the sea by Shen Zhi Qiu's friends." Gu Qingyan choked up. "They are so cruel. Wanqing is just a girl, how could they do such a cruel thing?"

With a creak, the door opened.

The door was suddenly pushed open, and a blinding beam of light shone in, shattering the dim atmosphere in the private room. Gu Qingyan and Meng Yunche turned their heads at the same time, only to see a figure standing in the doorway, the figure appearing particularly blurry in the strong light.

"Who?" Meng Yunche frowned.

The figure at the door didn't speak. He stepped inside, slammed the door shut, and said with a cold laugh, "You just said Xiao Wanqing is dead?"
