Chapter 42 Lu Jia Goes to Pick Up Her Grandmother



"Okay, I've already contacted Dean Li. He'll be waiting for you at the main gate tomorrow morning."

"Okay, don't worry, wait for my good news." Lu Jia turned off her phone and quickly walked out of the airport.

The next morning, Lu Jia arrived at the sanatorium early. Dean Li had been waiting for a long time. Upon seeing Lu Jia at the entrance, Dean Li came to greet him. Lu Jia noticed that there was a man standing next to him. He stood ramrod straight, his suit was obviously very expensive, and his white shirt was almost wrinkle-free. The lines of his face appeared gentle and kind because of his warm smile.

"You're Zhi Qiu's friend, right?"

"Yes, my name is Lu Jia. Hello, Dean Li. I heard from Zhi Qiu that you have always taken good care of her. Thank you." Lu Jia greeted her politely and also gave a slight nod to the man next to Dean Li.

"How is Zhi Qiu?" Dean Li led Lu Jia toward her grandmother's room.

"She's fine, don't worry," Lu Jia replied briefly, though she was anxious to take her away.

"That's good. We've prepared Zhi Qiu's grandmother's luggage. We'll need you to come with me to complete the formalities." Dean Li stepped out of the elevator and gestured for Lu Jia to wait in the office on his right while he went to retrieve the documents.

"Mr. Lu, hello. Si Mingyu." The man next to Dean Li extended his hand to Lu Jia and said gently.

"Si Mingyu?" Lu Jia raised an eyebrow; he recognized the name. He reached out and shook Si Mingyu's hand. "Nice to meet you."

Si Mingyu withdrew his hand. He had been observing Lu Jia the whole way. Shen Zhi Qiu had entrusted him to pick up her grandmother in this situation, and it sounded like Shen Zhi Qiu had been with him for the past few days. This made him wonder what kind of relationship Lu Jia had with Shen Zhi Qiu, and why she trusted him to this extent.

His eyes darkened slightly. After Shen Zhi Qiu's accident, she left without saying goodbye and never contacted him again. This meant that she no longer depended on him, right?
