Ten minutes later, Xiao Wanrou went into the restroom.
The bathroom had been cleaned spotlessly by Song Shiyao. There were no more bloodstains on the floor, and the previous bloody smell was gone from the air, leaving only a faint smell of disinfectant.
As she entered the restroom stall and closed the door, one of the tightly closed stalls was quietly opened.
A pair of feet emerged lightly, moving with difficulty to the side of Xiao Wanrou's cubicle. Shen Meiyan's face was pale, her eyes filled with fear and despair. She knew she had no way out and had to do as Song Shiyao demanded. Holding the knife, her hand trembled violently, but she still tried her best to control her emotions, waiting for Xiao Wanrou to appear.
Hearing the lock turn, Shen Meiyan's heart suddenly raced; she knew her chance had come. She took a deep breath, then flung open the cubicle door, knife in hand, and lunged forward. The attack was so sudden that Xiao Wanrou had no time to react.
The knife pierced Xiao Wanrou's clothes and skin without resistance, embedding itself directly in her chest. At that moment, she could even feel her heart pounding against the blade, followed by an unbearable, excruciating pain. Her eyes widened, wanting to scream, but she found herself unable to utter a sound.
Blood gushed from the wound, quickly staining her dress. It first turned deep red, then gradually dark red, and finally almost black. The bloodstains seemed to mock her fragility and vulnerability, blooming into poignant blood flowers on her dress.
In the other private room, Gu Qingyan was already getting restless. He glanced at his watch; twenty minutes had passed since Xiao Wanrou went to the restroom. He frowned, a strange unease rising within him. He didn't know why he was so worried about her, but he just couldn't sit still.
So he called over a waitress and asked her to go to the restroom to see why Xiao Wanrou hadn't returned yet. The waitress acknowledged and hurried off to the restroom.
Soon, the waiter ran back, pale-faced, and stammered to Gu Qingyan that Xiao Wanrou had been stabbed.
Gu Qingyan's face turned ashen instantly. He stood up abruptly and rushed towards the bathroom.
"Mr. Gu, we've already called the police and an ambulance..."
When Gu Qingyan rushed into the bathroom, the scene before him plunged his heart into a cold abyss. Xiao Wanrou lay quietly in a pool of blood, her face pale, her eyes closed, as if she had fallen into an eternal sleep.
He knelt down, his trembling fingers gently stroking her cheek, but her skin was already slightly cool.
Hot tears streamed uncontrollably down his cheeks, dripping onto Xiao Wanrou's face and mingling with her blood. He collapsed, embracing the blood-soaked Xiao Wanrou, and wept bitterly. He couldn't believe that he couldn't even keep a substitute!
Instantly, the pain of losing Xiao Wanqing surged into his heart again, more intense than ever before. He felt his heart being torn apart, as if swallowed by endless darkness.
"Wanrou!" he roared, his voice filled with despair and rage. "Why?!" He rushed forward and grabbed the waiter's collar tightly, his eyes flashing with anger and sorrow. "Who did this?!"
The waiter, intimidated by his imposing manner, shrank back fearfully and whispered, "Mr. Gu, when our people came in, they only saw Miss Xiao inside..."
Gu Qingyan released his grip, and the waiter quickly stepped back a few paces, fearing that he might hit him.
"The accident happened here. If we can't find the culprit..." Gu Qingyan's voice was cold and threatening, sending waves of fear through the waiter.

On the other side, Shen Meiyan, wearing Lin Shih-hao's suit jacket, walked with difficulty and her face pale as she linked arms with Lin Shih-hao as they went outside.
She couldn't imagine how Gu Qingyan would deal with her if he knew she was the one who harmed Xiao Wanrou.
Lin Shih-hao held her tightly from behind, supporting her to prevent her from falling. To others, however, it appeared to be an intimate gesture.
After getting into the car, Shen Meiyan let out a painful groan.
"What exactly happened?" Lin Shih-hao sped off, but seeing Shen Mei-yan's injuries, he couldn't help but ask.
When Shen Meiyan called him earlier, asking him to meet her at the bathroom door, although there were no wounds on her body, her pale face immediately alerted him that something was wrong.
But Shen Meiyan only urged him to take off his clothes in a panic, and then quickly left the restaurant.
“Song Shiyao came just now, and she stabbed me without even asking what happened.” Shen Meiyan’s tears fell instantly. “She did this impulsively because she was jealous that I was on a date with you.”
"I'm calling the police now! We have to get this vicious woman arrested!" Lin Shihao roared angrily, slamming his fist on the steering wheel, which was still stained with Shen Meiyan's blood.
"Don't call the police!" Shen Meiyan panicked and shouted, "She'll go to jail if she does. She acted impulsively. We've been good friends for years. I really can't bear to do it."
Upon hearing this, Lin Shih-hao glanced at her, his expression complex. "But she hurt you! Are you really going to let it go so easily?"
"Let me recover first," Shen Meiyan pleaded. "But we can't let anyone know about my injury."
Lin Shih-hao sighed and drove the car toward a hospital that had a partnership with the Lin family.
"Don't worry, I'll take you to the hospital first, I promise it won't get out. We'll talk about everything after you're better."
Lin Shih-hao felt something was off. In his memory, Shen Mei-yan wasn't someone who was this kind of person, but the situation was urgent and he didn't have time to think too much.
Watching Shen Meiyan being wheeled into the operating room, he made a phone call to the restaurant he had just visited.
