On the beach, Shen Zhi Qiu watched helplessly as the ship exploded on the sea, bursting into flames. She collapsed to her knees on the sand in despair.
"Lu Jia!" Shen Zhi Qiu screamed in anguish. She lost control and fell backward, but the bodyguard behind her caught her immediately.
The next second, Wei Qiao received a call from his bodyguard, "Brother Wei, Miss has fainted."
"Did Lu Jia finally disembark?" Wei Qiao frowned, looking at the ship engulfed in flames, still clinging to a last glimmer of hope. But he wasn't sure, since the bodyguard had told him the moment Shen Zhi Qiu disembarked that Lu Jia hadn't followed and had sailed away.
At that moment, the hearts that he and Rong Mo had just put down instantly tightened again.
"No, Brother Wei." The bodyguard's voice was also somewhat low. "Our men didn't see Lu Jia disembark."
Upon hearing this news, Wei Qiao's heart sank. He knew this meant Lu Jia might have met with misfortune. He quickly made a decision, "Take care of Shen Zhi Qiu first. I've already contacted the search and rescue team, informing them of the exact location of the sea area and the accident, and requesting that they dispatch rescue forces as soon as possible. In any case, we need to search for Lu Jia as quickly as possible. If he is still alive, our rescue must be swift."
Rong Mo stood by the roadside, facing the wind, surrounded by fully armed bodyguards, each with a solemn expression.
He held up his binoculars, his eyes never leaving Xiao Wanqing in the distance. At the moment the ship exploded, her cheers and laughter were all captured in his eyes.
"President Rong, please go back first. Miss needs you. Everything is set up here; our people are in position on all sides and will be moving in to capture Xiao Wanqing soon," Wei Qiao said.
Rong Mo remained silent, simply watching Xiao Wanqing. His eyes were filled with anger and hatred.
"This time, we must not let her go! Anyone who dares to stop us, kill them." Rong Mo's voice was filled with hatred.
"Understood, President Rong. The bodyguards who were guarding the outside have spotted Gu Qingyan and Gu Ningning arriving. They're furious and seem to be looking for revenge against Xiao Wanqing," Wei Qiao said, frowning.
"Gu Qingyan has come to his senses?" Rong Mo raised an eyebrow. "Impossible." He gave a disdainful look.
“Then I’ll stop them to avoid alerting Xiao Wanqing and letting her escape.” Wei Qiao nodded.
"Yes, after you capture Xiao Wanqing, bring her to me." After Rong Mo finished speaking, he turned and walked towards Shen Zhi Qiu.
His steps were firm and resolute, his eyes flashing with anger and determination.
As Xiao Wanqing stood up triumphantly, casually put on her sunglasses, and walked towards the road, Wei Qiao gave an order, and bodyguards from all directions rushed towards Xiao Wanqing.
Xiao Wanqing had no idea they would find her, mainly because she was too proud of her "masterpiece" and had become somewhat careless.
She prepared to run in the opposite direction, but found bodyguards rushing towards her from every direction, and panicked. Her heart raced, and her breathing became rapid. She tried to escape, but it was too late; the bodyguards had surrounded her, and she had nowhere to run.
"Don't come any closer! If you do, we'll all die together!" Xiao Wanqing said in a panic, pulling a grenade from her bag.
“Miss Xiao, how could someone as ruthless as you bear to blow yourself up? I don’t believe it.” Wei Qiao strode forward, his face full of mockery.
"Don't you believe me! If you dare take another step forward, I'll detonate a grenade right now." Xiao Wanqing sneered. "Anyway, I'm going to die if you catch me, so you'll all die with me. Besides, Shen Zhi Qiu and Lu Jia are already dead, so I won't lose out!"
“Our young lady is alive and well,” Wei Qiao said deliberately, trying to provoke her.
"Impossible! I saw the bomb explode!" Xiao Wanqing wasn't so easily fooled. "Besides, I saw that no one jumped off the ship before the explosion. They must be dead, that's why you hate me so much."
“Our CEO Rong has already gone to be with Miss.” Wei Qiao continued to provoke her. “I know you hate our Miss, but she was indeed rescued.”
“That means Lu Jia is dead,” Xiao Wanqing said with certainty. “Even if Lu Jia was lucky enough to be removed, the person who removed him is definitely dead.”
Wei Qiao pursed her lips, clenched her fist as she looked at her smug expression.
"Xiao Wanqing!"
Suddenly, shouts came from not far away from Gu Qingyan and Gu Ningning.
"Hehe, how wonderful, those two actually came over." Xiao Wanqing curled the corners of her lips, seemingly mocking Gu Qingyan and Wei Qiao, but also seemingly mocking herself.
"Yes, they're all here to kill you," Wei Qiao sneered. "How much longer do you think you have left to live?"
Xiao Wanqing pondered for a moment, then a faint smile appeared on her lips. However, behind this smile lay a barely perceptible hint of smugness. Her gaze fell upon Gu Qingyan, who was approaching, as if she were provoking him.
Wei Qiao gave a wink to the bodyguard opposite her. The bodyguard standing behind Xiao Wanqing quickly stepped forward and snatched the grenade from her hand with lightning speed. His movements were swift and fluid; the grenade arced through the air before disappearing into the vast sea.
Just as Wei Qiao predicted, it wasn't a real grenade. Someone who values life so much wouldn't actually try to take someone down with them.
It all happened so fast that Xiao Wanqing didn't even have time to react before she was swarmed by bodyguards and pinned to the ground. Her hands were tightly bound behind her back, rendering her unable to move.
