Chapter 11 Do you still want to wear this white coat? !
When Lin Che woke up, his first reaction was to recall the scene last night when he heard Lu Yu's laughter and hurriedly said good night and hung up the phone.
Thinking about it now, my ears are turning red.
As usual, he got up, packed his things, and drove his second-hand car to work at the hospital.
"Long time no see, Junior Brother Lin." Lin Che had just parked the car when he heard Qi Yan, who made him feel disgusted, standing outside the car with a fake smile and greeting him.
"If you can avoid seeing him, then don't." Lin Che locked the car with a cold face and walked sideways past Qi Yan.
"Hey, Junior Brother Lin, have you become arrogant after spending a few days in the pediatric department?" Qi Yan moved sideways to block Lin Che in front of him, but his words changed in tone as he spoke teasingly.
"Get out of the way." Lin Che's patience had run out, and the coldness in her eyes made Qi Yan stunned for a moment.
"Look at you, you have such a promising future in general foreign medicine, why did you think you could come to this 'child's department'?" Qi Yan took a few steps closer, lowered his voice, but his tone was even more harsh.
He deliberately emphasized the three words "child's play" with full of sarcasm.
Upon hearing this, Lin Che's lips curled up with a barely perceptible scorn, and he used both hands to forcefully push Qi Yan in front of him.
The other party didn't expect Lin Che to make such a quick move, and he fell to the ground in front of the car's hood with a "bang".
"Fuck you!! Hiss——" Qi Yan covered his waist in pain and swallowed the rest of the words.
Lin Che's fist had already hit the corner of his mouth hard.
Qi Yan slipped and fell to the ground in front of the hood without paying attention to his surroundings.
"Lin Che!! Stop trying to act so noble! Everyone in the hospital knows why you were exiled." Qi Yan's angry and broken voice echoed in the underground parking lot.
"If you don't want to be kicked again, shut the fuck up." Lin Che rubbed his wrist condescendingly, looking at Qi Yan, who was lying on the ground in a mess, with a cold look as if he was looking at a dead person.
"Bah!" Qi Yan sneered, spitting out the blood mixed with saliva from the corner of his mouth where his fist had hit him. "Lin Che, is beating me not as satisfying as beating Young Master Qin?"
"What's his status? It's your good fortune that he's attracted to you! But you're so ungrateful that you not only refused but also dared to attack him? Tsk tsk, that punch was really hard. I heard that Master Qin's nose was almost crooked."
Every word was like a poisoned needle, piercing Lin Che's heart.
Qi Yan looked at Lin Che's instantly pale face and the pain and anger boiling in his eyes, and he felt even more proud. His voice was filled with malicious "sympathy": "Look, why bother with this? Wouldn't it be over if you just endured it? Now you see, your bright future is ruined. Is it worth it to be here to care for children and clean up their messes every day?"
"Get lost." Lin Che's voice was low and hoarse, as if squeezed out from between his teeth, carrying with it an icy chill and a fury that was suppressed with great effort.
Qi Yan was frightened by this look and subconsciously took a step back. The hypocritical smile on his face could no longer be maintained. "What a fucking lunatic!!" He left a sentence and ran away in a hurry.
The disgusting fishy smell of the underground parking lot seemed to still stick in his nostrils. He shook his head vigorously, as if to shake off the filth, and strode into the pediatric ward.
Lin Che put on the white coat hanging in the dressing room with an expressionless face. He adjusted his breathing in front of the mirror. The man in the mirror still had a cold and stern look in his eyes, but his jawline was tense, forcibly suppressing the surging emotions.
As soon as I pushed open the door of my clinic, the head nurse poked her head in, looking a little embarrassed: "Doctor Lin, the director wants you to go to his office now."
Lin Che paused, feeling a slight chill on his fingertips.
The director of pediatrics' office was at the end of the hallway. When Lin Che knocked on the door and entered, director Zhang Mingli was sitting behind his desk, flipping through a medical record with a slight frown on his face. Zhang Mingli was in his fifties, with graying hair and a kind face. He was known for his good temper in the pediatric department, but at this moment, his face was unusually serious.
"Doctor Lin, you're here? Sit down." Zhang Mingli put down the medical record and pointed to the chair opposite.
Lin Che sat down as instructed, straightened his back, placed his hands on his knees, and looked directly at the director, ready to face any questions.
Zhang Mingli didn't speak immediately. He just picked up the teacup and took a sip, as if he was considering his words.
The air in the office was a little stagnant, with only the ticking of the second hand of the wall clock.
"Lin Che," Zhang Mingli finally spoke. His voice was low, yet it carried a weight that could not be ignored. "The security department just called me."
Lin Che's heart sank. As expected.
"It's said that in the underground parking lot, you and Dr. Qi from the general surgery department...had a little physical conflict?" Zhang Mingli's eyes sharpened as he scrutinized Lin Che's expression.
Lin Che didn't evade or defend himself, but simply replied calmly, "Yes."
"Reason?" Zhang Mingli asked, his tone becoming more serious.
Lin Che was silent for a few seconds. What could he say?
Zhang Mingli sighed deeply, leaned forward slightly, and folded his hands on the table. "Lin Che, I know you feel wronged. I know it's hard for you to be rotated from general surgery to pediatrics. Qi Yan is a man who sometimes doesn't speak or act in a proper manner. But!"
His tone suddenly became stern: "Fighting! This is absolutely not allowed! This is a hospital, a place to treat and save lives! How can doctors brawl in public? Do you know how bad the impact is? The security department's surveillance camera captured it clearly! With that punch and that push, Qi Yan is already shouting that he's going to complain to the medical department!"
Zhang Mingli's voice was filled with grief. "You were in general surgery back then... Alas, the hospital covered up that incident and it didn't spread. That was because of your excellent performance in the past, and it was indeed the other party's misconduct that started it all. But what was the price? They transferred you away from your core position! Do you think coming to pediatrics is just temporary? So many people are watching you! If you make another mistake, don't even think about returning to general surgery. Do you even want to wear this white coat again?!"
Lin Che's Adam's apple rolled, but he couldn't utter a word.
Zhang Mingli stood up, walked over to Lin Che, and patted his shoulder firmly with a warning: "I will communicate with Qi Yan and try to minimize the impact. But this won't happen again! Remember what you heard today. Go back to work and don't let your emotions affect your judgment. There are many patients waiting for you this afternoon."
"I understand, Director." Lin Che's voice was low and hoarse, without any emotion.
There was a sound of rushing water, and the water in the sink was mixed with a few traces of red blood. Lin Che realized that there was a long cut on his right wrist caused by Qi Yan's earring in the morning.
The bloodstains had already scabbed over, and the bloodstains were covered by the white coat on the cuffs, so I didn't feel any pain at all.
Lin Che looked at the person in the mirror. His face was still pale. He lowered his head and washed the blood from his wrist with an expressionless face.
After a simple disinfection in the clinic, the wound was casually covered with gauze to avoid friction with the cuffs.
Lin Che had just thrown the blood-stained cotton ball into the contaminated trash can when his cell phone began to vibrate in his white coat pocket. The buzzing sound was particularly abrupt in the suddenly quiet clinic.
An unfamiliar number flickered on the screen. Lin Che frowned, the cool touch of disinfectant still lingering on his fingertips. He swiped the phone to answer, his voice carrying a subtle hint of fatigue. "Hello?"
"Hello, Mr. Lin. I am Mr. Lu's assistant, Cheng Yi." A young man's steady and formal voice came from the other end of the phone. Without any greetings, he got straight to the point with astonishing efficiency.
"Hello." Lin Che held the phone to his ear with his shoulder, tightening the bandage with one hand, and replied without any emotion.
"Mr. Lu asked me to inform you that at nine o'clock tomorrow morning, please bring your ID card and original household registration booklet and wait at the entrance of the Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau. Mr. Lu will arrive on time to complete the marriage registration procedures with you." Cheng Yi spoke at a moderate pace, and each word seemed to be precisely calibrated, conveying an unquestionable decision.
"Also," Cheng Yi's voice continued to come steadily, interrupting Lin Che's momentary distraction.
"Regarding the timetable for your move, Mr. Lu hopes it will be as soon as possible. When is convenient for you? I will arrange for someone to help you pack and move your belongings. You only need to let me know the specific time and location."
Hearing Cheng Yi reminding them of the moving date, Lin Che found it somewhat amusing. Lu Yu appeared to be cold and unapproachable on the surface, but unexpectedly, he could be stubborn about certain things...
And... kind of cute? ?
"When I need to move, I will send a message to Lu Yu directly."
