Chapter 95 "——I will make you shut up forever."

Chapter 95 "——I will make you shut up forever."

"You really don't need me to accompany you?" Lin Che turned his head and his eyes fell on Lu Yu's stern profile.

"Your outpatient appointments are full today." Lu Yu's gaze remained focused ahead, his bony fingers tapping lightly on the steering wheel. His voice remained steady and powerful. "Don't worry, the hospital is under the supervision of Dean Li, and nothing can go wrong. You just need to do your job well."

He paused, lowering his voice. "Cheng Yi has arranged for people to be stationed around the hospital, and the same applies to you. There will be people on the way to and from get off work, and outside your clinic. Don't be bothered, this is an emergency."

Lin Che didn't refute, but just said "hmm" softly. Lu Yu's arrangements were always flawless.

The car stopped briefly at the hospital entrance. Lu Yu leaned over and unbuckled Lin Che's seatbelt, his movements filled with a natural, intimate touch. His warm fingertips caressed the skin on the side of Lin Che's neck, sending a subtle shiver through him.

"Go ahead." Lu Yu's voice was low, and his gaze lingered on Lin Che's face for a moment, his eyes filled with soothing power. "I'll pick you up after get off work."

"Well, be careful too." Lin Che pushed open the car door, letting in the cool morning air. He walked briskly towards the hospital gate without looking back, yet he could clearly feel the two quiet and focused gazes behind him, following him until his figure disappeared into the revolving door.

Lu Yu watched Lin Che walk into the hospital building, and only slowly withdrew his gaze when the thin figure was completely out of sight. The remaining gentleness on his face instantly faded, leaving only a bottomless coldness.

————

The corridor of the top-floor VIP ward was utterly silent, the air thick with the cold, pungent smell of disinfectant, almost suffocating. Only the regular ticking of the monitoring equipment struck, like a countdown pendulum, against the heart.

Lu Chi was leaning against the wall outside his father's ward, completely immersed in the shadows. His face was frighteningly pale, and there was a dark cyanosis under his eyes, obviously he hadn't slept all night.

Seeing Lu Yu's tall figure appear at the end of the corridor, Lu Chi seemed to have pressed a switch. He stood up straight abruptly, staring at Lu Yu with bloodshot eyes. His gaze was like a poisoned hook, but with an almost crazy excitement.

Lu Yu walked straight to the door of the ward without any pause, and glanced inside through the narrow observation glass on the door.

The ward was dimly lit. Lu Shengheng lay on the bed like a broken puppet, his body covered in tubes and connected to instruments that shone with a cold light. On the electrocardiogram monitor screen, the curve representing his heartbeat rose and fell faintly, each fluctuation seeming unusually difficult.

Two men in casual clothes stood by the bed. They were Lu Yu's men. Qi Yingzhi was curled up on the sofa in the corner, her hair disheveled and her eyes empty, like a body with its soul taken away.

"Are you satisfied?" Lu Chi's hoarse voice sounded behind Lu Yu. He took a step forward, his body almost touching Lu Yu's back.

Lu Yu turned abruptly, instantly forcing Lu Chi back half a step. His tall figure cast an oppressive shadow under the corridor's ceiling light, completely enveloping Lu Chi.

Hearing Lu Chi's words, Lu Yu put his hands in his pockets, lowered his head, and stared at Lu Chi coldly. He asked in a cold voice, "Satisfied? Watching him lying here like a dead dog, relying on a machine to survive? Lu Chi, this scene was the script your father chose himself, and this result is what he deserves."

"Deserved it?" Lu Chi grinned, his mouth twisted, as if he'd heard some ridiculous joke. A strange, hoarse sound emanated from his throat. The remaining clarity in his eyes had been completely devoured by madness, leaving only a chilling, paranoid glint.

Lu Yu ignored Lu Chi's disgusting gaze that was as disgusting as a poisonous snake.

He slowly pulled a silver cigarette case from the inside pocket of his suit, opened it with a click, and pulled out a slender cigarette, which he placed between his lips. The metal lighter emitted a crisp "ding" sound, and a faint blue flame shot up, illuminating his now cold and hard face.

Lu Yu tilted his head slightly and lit a cigarette with the flame. His eyes never fell on Lu Chi's face. He just lowered his head and took a deep puff of cigarette in silence, then slowly exhaled the gray-white smoke from his mouth.

The smoke slowly rising from his face blurred the bottomless coldness in Lu Yu's eyes, making his already stern features even more severe.

"Lu Chi..." Lu Yu's voice came through the thin smoke, with a coldness that was almost a sigh, "It's come to this point, and you're still pretending."

He lowered his eyelids, his gaze fixed on the flickering scarlet between his fingers, his posture showing a kind of control over the overall situation, almost cruel laziness.

"It was you who put the poison in Lu Shengheng's wine glass, right?" Another puff of smoke slowly came out of Lu Yu's mouth, and his gaze finally fell on Lu Chi's face.

The air froze, leaving only Lu Chi's heavy and disordered breathing.

Silence is the most straightforward answer.

Lu Yu looked at him quietly, without any surprise in his eyes, only a kind of disgust for Lu Chiliangran's stupidity and despicableness.

As soon as Lu Chi looked up, he saw the undisguised disgust in Lu Yu's eyes, which instantly shattered his heart.

"It would be better if he died!"

The curse-like words came out of Lu Chi's mouth with a kind of morbid relief and fanaticism.

Lu Chi seemed to have completely broken free from some shackles, his body trembling slightly with excitement, his bloodshot eyes fixed on Lu Yu's face, greedily capturing every subtle expression of his.

"Brother..." Lu Chi's voice suddenly lowered again, becoming sticky and ambiguous, with a disgusting intimacy.

"Brother! Look at me! Look at me!" Lu Chi roared hoarsely, "Lu Shengheng... he's going to die soon! The last bit of damned, disgusting blood relationship between us is gone!"

Lu Chi's voice suddenly rose, filled with heart-wrenching despair and desperate enthusiasm, "Lu Yu! Look at me! After all these years, you... you haven't thought about me? Not even once?!"

There was no fluctuation in Lu Yu's eyes. The indifference in Lu Chi's eyes at the moment of his crazy and ugly posture made Lu Chi feel more bitingly cold and completely desperate than any rebuke.

This utter disregard was like the final straw that broke Lu Chi's shaky sanity. The twisted hope on his face was instantly replaced by resentment, a madness that utterly destroyed everything if he couldn't get it.

He raised his hand and grabbed his hair in anger, then suddenly looked up at Lu Yu with a desperate determination, "You! Do you really like that Lin Che that much?"

Lu Chi roared, each word saturated with bone-chilling jealousy and resentment. "I don't understand! What's so good about him? What's so good about him that you hold him in your arms?! That handsome face?!"

He let out a harsh, malicious sneer, "Lu Yu! When did you become so superficial?! It's just a face! Besides that face, what else does he have?!"

As Lu Chi spoke, he moved forward again. He suddenly raised his hand, and his cold fingers, wet and sticky with sweat, actually touched Lu Yu's wrist directly.

Lu Yu's eyes remained calm. With a cigarette in his mouth, he lowered his eyes and looked at Lu Chi's hand on his wrist, which felt like the tongue of a poisonous snake licking him.

At the wrist, the pale skin on the back of Lu Chi's hand was stretched tight due to the force, and the blue veins bulged hideously.

Lu Yu slowly took the half-burned cigarette from between his lips, and directly held the burning scarlet cigarette butt and slowly pressed it on the back of Lu Chi's hand that was holding his wrist.

"laugh--!"

The subtle sound of burning flesh was so clear in the silent corridor that it made one's scalp tingle.

The severe pain in his wrist made Lu Chi's heart ache as well, so no matter how much he said, he couldn't arouse Lu Yu's emotions at all. Only when he mentioned Lin Che, Lu Yu's emotions were affected.

Lu Chi looked down at the scarlet cigarette butt on his wrist, every inch of it seemed to be burning his heart, tearing him apart, making him die. He looked up and saw Lu Yu's cold and undisguised disgust. He smiled self-deprecatingly and let go of Lu Yu's wrist.

"Lu Chi." Lu Yu's voice was so clear, every word clearly hitting Lu Chi's eardrums and his nerves that were on the verge of collapse, "If you say one more word about Lin Che—"

The extinguished cigarette in Lu Yu's hand was thrown on Lu Chi's collar and then bounced to the ground. The next second, Lu Yu's big hand tightly grasped Lu Chi's neck.

Lu Yu's face was so close, and Lu Chi's struggle seemed so futile and ridiculous in the face of absolute power.

His face quickly turned a terrifying purple-red due to suffocation, his eyeballs were bloodshot and bulged horribly due to lack of oxygen. He stared at the face in front of him that made him love it to the point of madness and hate it to the bone.

All that could come out of his throat were intermittent "ho...ho..." sounds like an old bellows. Every struggle made the pressure on his neck tighter. The shadow of death had never been so clear to him.

Lu Yu looked down at him condescendingly, his eyes as cold as if he was looking at a dying maggot.

Lu Chi understood what was in that look.

That's not a threat, it's a warning.

If he dared to slander Lin Che again, Lu Yu would definitely do what he said.

"—I'll make you shut up forever."

“Cough! Cough cough cough——!!!”

Lu Yu's hand suddenly let go, and Lu Chi's body instantly lost its support, sliding straight down the wall and hitting the ground heavily. He curled up into a ball, holding his aching neck tightly with both hands, and burst into heart-wrenching coughs and dry heaves.

Every violent cough involved his burned throat and almost shattered larynx, causing him to feel so painful that his vision went black and his body twitched and spasmed violently.

The air rushed back into his trachea, which had been nearly crushed by Lu Yu's hand, like a scalding blade. He gasped for breath in agony, his saliva and tears mixing uncontrollably, covering his face, which had turned purple from lack of oxygen.

Lu Yu lowered his eyes expressionlessly. He slowly took out a dark-colored handkerchief of fine texture from the inside pocket of his suit and began to wipe his fingers carefully, one by one.

His movements were slow and his expression was extremely focused. He wanted to meticulously and thoroughly remove all the dirty smell and touch that belonged to Lu Chi.

Lu Chi raised his heavy eyelids with difficulty, and this was the scene he saw through his blurred vision and physiological tears.

The man he loved so deeply, the man he worshipped like a god, was like a deity standing in the clouds, wiping away the "filth" that had touched him with the most elegant gesture. The focused wiping motion, the cold, calm gaze, made him feel a sharper pain than the previous strangulation, as if his soul were being completely cut into pieces.

"So..." Lu Chi struggled, using all his remaining strength to squeeze out broken, intermittent sounds from his aching throat. Every word was tinged with the sweet taste of blood foam and the despair of dying, "...So...you have been to me...from the beginning to the end......"

He couldn't finish his last words as violent coughing interrupted him again. He hunched over on the floor, coughing heart-wrenchingly as if he wanted to vomit out all his internal organs.

After Lu Yu wiped the last finger, he threw the handkerchief next to Lu Chi's body like garbage.

The dark fabric fell on the pale floor, at the edge of Lu Chi's sight.

Lu Yu then slowly raised his eyes and his gaze fell back on the miserable body on the ground. His eyes were still deep, without a trace of pity.

"Even if Lin Che wasn't here, I wouldn't have the slightest interest in you."

These words were like thunder, striking Lu Chi's confused and painful nerves.

He suddenly stopped coughing, his body trembled violently, and he raised his head in disbelief, staring at Lu Yu with his bloodshot and tear-blurred eyes.

——

The evening twilight gently enveloped the city, and the crowds at the hospital entrance gradually thinned out. Lin Che finished a day of outpatient work and walked out the door, feeling a little tired. His eyes habitually swept towards a familiar spot on the roadside.

The car window rolled down, revealing Lu Yu's profile. He had changed out of the dark, straight suit he'd worn that morning and was now wearing a soft, light grey cashmere sweater, with a casual jacket of the same colour thrown over it.

Lin Che paused slightly, a flicker of surprise crossing his heart. He quickly walked over, opened the car door, and got in the passenger seat.

"Hey, why did you change clothes?" Lin Che buckled his seatbelt while glancing at Lu Yu with a questioning look. He remembered he'd been wearing a formal suit when he'd dropped him off that morning, but seeing Lu Yu in his casual attire still struck him as a bit unusual.

Lu Yu calmly and naturally reached out to take the bag that Lin Che had placed on his lap and casually put it on the back seat.

"Well, it got a little dirty." Lu Yu's voice was steady, without any fluctuations. He looked straight ahead and started the car.

Lin Che's gaze lingered on his face for a few seconds, without asking what the "dirty thing" was.

Since Lu Yu didn't say anything, he didn't ask.

This trust and tacit understanding have long been integrated into our bones and blood.

He simply hummed a soft "hmm," leaning back in his seat, his gaze fixed on the flowing street scene outside the window. The city's neon lights were just beginning to come on, casting blurry shadows across the car window.

Lu Yu seemed to be concentrating on driving, but out of the corner of his eye he was always keeping an eye on the people around him. Lin Che leaned quietly against him, his profile appearing soft and calm in the twilight.

"Are you tired?" Lu Yu broke the silence in the car with a low and gentle voice.

Lin Che turned around and smiled at him, with a hint of genuine weariness in his eyes. "It's okay. There are many patients in the outpatient clinic. I'm used to it. How about you?" He asked lightly, but the concern in his eyes was clearly visible.

The corners of Lu Yu's mouth curved up slightly. "I dealt with some things." He brushed it off lightly, then added, "There's news from Cheng Yi. The preliminary report from the physical evidence department is out. The powder on the rim of the wine glass is highly suggestive of procainamide. There's no trouble with Lu Chi for the time being."

He paused, his voice deeper. "Lu Shengheng is still in the ICU, and his condition is very grim. Dean Li said that even if he survives, the damage to his brain and heart is essentially irreversible."

Lin Che listened quietly, making no medical comment. He had anticipated this outcome, but hearing it from Lu Yu added a chilling sense of reality. Lu Shengheng's ambition and Lu Chi's madness ultimately pushed them into the abyss.

"Yeah." Lin Che murmured, his gaze returning to the window. The night deepened, the bright lights illuminating this city of desire with a dazzling brilliance. While waiting for the red light, he reached out and gently placed his hand on the back of Lu Yu's hand, which was gripping the steering wheel.

The back of Lu Yu's hand was warm and strong, and one could even feel the astonishing power hidden beneath it. Lin Che's hand was slightly cool, and the touch was clear.

Lu Yu turned his hand back, his wrist twisting naturally, and completely wrapped Lin Che's hand in his broad palm. His warm, dry fingertips gently caressed Lin Che's slightly cool fingertips, his movements gentle but firm.

The road ahead is brightly lit. With him by my side, I have nothing to fear from wind and rain.

Lin Che just reached for the fingerprint lock when the door opened a crack. Just as he was about to push the door open, an irresistible force behind him suddenly pulled him in.

"Bang!"

The heavy door was kicked shut behind him with a dull sound, blocking out the last bit of light outside.

My eyes were instantly plunged into complete darkness, and my vision was completely deprived.

Before Lin Che could even scream, her back slammed heavily against the cold, hard door, causing a slight pain. Then, a scorching, aggressive aura enveloped her.

Lu Yu's body pressed tightly against him, completely trapping him in the narrow space between his body and the door. Without a moment's hesitation, he kissed him fiercely with irresistible force.

Lu Yu's unique scent, a mixture of light tobacco and cold cedar, powerfully swept over all of Lin Che's senses.

Darkness amplifies the sense of touch and ignites the most primitive response in the heart.

After the initial onslaught, Lin Che didn't resist at all. He almost immediately and enthusiastically embraced him. His hands eagerly raised, tightly wrapping around Lu Yu's broad back, his fingers digging deep into the taut muscles through the soft cashmere sweater.

He tilted his head back and their breaths blended together, actively deepening the kiss, responding awkwardly but with immense determination to every exploration and plunder of Lu Yu.

The air seemed to be ignited and the temperature rose rapidly.

Lu Yu's hand had slid from Lin Che's waist to the back of his neck, holding his head in place with a controlling force, allowing him to take the kiss even deeper. His other hand pinched his narrow waistline, exerting a force that threatened to crush him even through the thin fabric.

Lin Che was nearly suffocated by his kiss, his brain deprived of oxygen, his body limp. He could only cling tighter to the strong, burning body in front of him, like a drowning man grasping at a piece of driftwood. His fingertips unconsciously exerted force, almost digging into the muscles of Lu Yu's back, and a small, seductive whimper escaped his throat.

An unknown amount of time passed, but just when Lin Che felt like she was about to melt in Lu Yu's scorching breath and powerful plunder, Lu Yu's movements finally slowed down a little.

Finally, Lu Yu's lips finally moved away a little, but still remained tightly attached to Lin Che's.

(Omitted here)

He didn't continue the kiss, but just maintained the posture of foreheads touching and breaths blending. In the thick darkness and ambiguous breathing, they felt each other's presence and heartbeat, as if to carve this lost and regained sense of security into their bones.

Outside the door is a noisy world and endless disputes, and inside the darkness, there are only their intense heartbeats and intertwined breathing.

Lin Che raised his fingertips and gently placed them on Lu Yu's soft hair. With a soothing tone, he asked in a low voice, "Did something happen to you today?" His voice was still slightly hoarse from the emotion.

In the darkness, he felt Lu Yu's body stiffen slightly.

Lu Yu raised his head, and Lin Che could feel his burning gaze on her face.

Lu Yu didn't say anything.

He looked deeply into Lin Che's eyes, which still shone brightly in the darkness, closed his eyes, and buried his face deeply in Lin Che's warm neck, which smelled of clean soap.

The warm breath on the sensitive skin of his neck brought a slight shiver. Lin Che's heart instantly softened, and he stopped asking questions.

Lu Yu tightened his arms around Lin Che's waist, almost trying to embed her into his body.

It was unknown how long it took, so long that Lin Che felt his shoulders were slightly sore, before Lu Yu finally moved.

He didn't raise his head immediately, but rubbed the side of his face against Lin Che's neck affectionately, his nose brushing against the smooth skin, an intimate and possessive gesture like a large cat confirming its territory. Then he slowly raised his head and searched for his lover's eyes in the dark light.

In the darkness, Lin Che felt Lu Yu's gaze on his face again. Although he couldn't see clearly, the essence of that gaze was clearly conveyed - the heaviness had mostly faded, replaced by his usual calmness and a deeper focus that belonged only to Lin Che.

Lu Yu's forehead rested against Lin Che's again, their noses touching, their breaths mingling. His voice was low and hoarse, with a sense of relief and comfort, and fell clearly into Lin Che's ears:

"It's all over."

Lin Che hummed softly in the darkness, and patted his back soothingly with her hand.

"I know." He responded softly, with complete trust.

The corners of Lu Yu's lips seemed to curve upward ever so slightly. He stopped talking, simply maintaining this posture of foreheads touching, breathing in each other's ear, and hugged her quietly for a while longer.

Then he stood up and groped for the switch on the wall.

“Pah.”

Warm yellow light poured down instantly, dispelling the thick darkness, illuminating the entrance, and illuminating each other's faces.

Under the light, the fatigue on Lu Yu's face hadn't completely dissipated, but the calmness and sense of control in his eyes had returned. He raised his hand, and gently brushed Lin Che's slightly swollen lips with his fingertips, his movements incredibly gentle.

"Are you hungry?" he asked in a low voice.
