Chapter 119 Daily Life After Marriage 1
When the morning light streamed into the bedroom through the gauze curtains, Lin Che was sleeping soundly in Lu Yu's arms, her cheek pressed against his arm, her eyelashes trembling slightly with her breathing.
Lu Yu had woken up a long time ago, but he just stood there motionless, letting him press down on him. His other hand gently stroked the loose hair on his forehead, with an indulgent smile in his eyes.
It was not until the alarm clock rang that Lin Che opened his eyes drowsily, and when he looked up, he met Lu Yu's focused gaze.
"Awake?" Lu Yu lowered his head and kissed the tip of his nose. "If you don't get up now, you'll be late."
Lin Che lazily hummed a "hmm" and instead of letting go, she snuggled closer to him, her voice soft and slumbering, "Five more minutes..."
Lu Yu chuckled and gently pinched the back of his neck with his fingers: "Teacher Lin, who said 'I will never stay in bed' last time?"
Lin Che closed his eyes and pretended to be dead, but the corners of his mouth curled up quietly: "It's not me anyway."
Lu Yu raised an eyebrow and stretched out his hand to scratch his waist. Lin Che was instantly defeated and hid under the quilt while laughing: "Lu Yu! Are you childish?"
"Whoever stays in bed is childish." Lu Yu pulled him out of the quilt and tidied his hair, which had curled up due to sleep. "Breakfast is ready. It will get cold if you dawdle any longer."
Lin Che then reluctantly got up and walked to the bathroom in her slippers, muttering softly, "...dictatorship."
Lu Yu heard it, but he didn't get angry. He just followed him slowly. When he was brushing his teeth, he put his arms around his waist from behind, rested his chin on his shoulder, and said lazily, "You are used to being a tyrant."
Lin Che held a toothbrush in her mouth and glared at him in the mirror, but because her mouth was full of foam, she had no deterrent effect at all. Instead, she made Lu Yu laugh softly and gently bit his earlobe.
———
Lu Yu made breakfast himself. The fried eggs were cooked to perfection, the toast was crispy, and there was a cup of warm milk next to it.
As soon as Lin Che sat down, Lu Yu put the peeled boiled eggs into his bowl.
"Do you have classes today?" Lu Yu asked.
"Yeah, we have a group meeting this afternoon." Lin Che took a bite of toast and said vaguely, "What about you?"
"I have an appointment tonight, so I might be back late." Lu Yu said, wiping the jam off the corner of his mouth. "Don't wait for me, go to bed early."
Lin Che said "Oh" and lowered his head to drink milk. After a while, he couldn't help but look up and said, "Drink less."
The smile in Lu Yu's eyes deepened, and he teased him deliberately: "Is Teacher Lin so strict?"
Lin Che's ears turned slightly red as she pretended to be calm: "I was just afraid you'd wake me up when you came back."
Lu Yu chuckled and reached out to ruffle his hair: "Okay, I'll listen to you."
After breakfast, Lin Che changed her clothes and prepared to go out. As soon as she reached the entrance, she was stopped by Lu Yu.
"The collar isn't turned up properly." Lu Yu raised his hand to straighten the collar of his shirt. His fingertips accidentally brushed against his neck, causing Lin Che to shrink his neck slightly.
"Okay." Lu Yu took a step back and looked at him, then suddenly frowned again, "It's getting colder outside, why are you wearing such thin clothes?"
Lin Che was helpless: "It's not cold in the car..."
Lu Yu ignored his protest, turned around and took out a windbreaker from the cloakroom, and put it on his shoulders without saying anything: "Put it on."
Lin Che pouted, but still dressed obediently, still complaining, "Boss Lu, you're becoming more and more...possible to be a father."
Lu Yu raised his eyebrows, grabbed his wrist and pulled him closer, lowered his head and bit his lips: "Who are you calling dad?"
Lin Che smiled and pushed him away: "Let's go, we'll be late if we don't leave now."
Lu Yu let go of his hand, watched him push the door open and leave, then suddenly called out to him, "Lin Che."
"Hmm?" Lin Che turned around.
Lu Yu stood at the door, the morning light outlining his tall figure. The corners of his lips curled up slightly, and his voice was low and gentle: "See you tonight."
Lin Che's heart skipped a beat. Even though they had been together for so many years, she was still attracted by his simple gaze. He coughed lightly and waved calmly, "...See you tonight."
After closing the door, Lin Che touched his burning ears and muttered softly, "...Foul."
———
Lu Yu stood in the corner of the banquet hall, his fingertips carelessly stroking the wine glass, listening to the partner's endless business flattery with a cold expression.
He was too lazy to deal with it, his eyes occasionally glancing at his phone. Lin Che had sent a message half an hour ago saying the group meeting was over and asking what time he would be home.
He was about to reply when a strong scent of perfume suddenly approached.
"Mr. Lu, are you alone?" The woman curled her red lips slightly, her fingertips gently placed on his wine glass, her eyes wandering directly over him.
Lu Yu raised his eyes expressionlessly, his gaze sweeping across her carefully manicured nails and the deliberately lowered front of her clothes, a hint of impatience flashing in his eyes.
He took a step back and said in a cold tone, "What's the matter?"
Seeing that he didn't refuse directly, the woman's smile deepened, and her fingertips gently brushed the back of his hand. "I heard that Mr. Lu recently won a project in the east part of the city. That's impressive... How about we have a drink together?"
Lu Yu lowered his eyes, his gaze fixed on the wedding ring on his ring finger. The silver ring shone coldly under the light. He sneered, and when he raised his eyes, his eyes had completely turned cold. "Are you blind?"
The woman was stunned, then she followed his gaze and noticed the ring.
But she was obviously used to this kind of scene, and chuckled nonchalantly: "Boss Lu, everyone in the industry knows that married people tend to have more fun."
Seeing that Lu Yu's gaze had darkened a little, the woman bravely reached out to Lu Yu's collar, but the next second Lu Yu suddenly took a step back and poured the remaining half glass of red wine in his hand into the woman's hand.
"Ah..." The woman watched the red wine leak from the glass, and a lot of wine splashed down her forearm onto her skirt. The woman completely collapsed because she had rented this dress at a high price for the party.
"My husband has a bad temper." Lu Yu slowly pulled out his handkerchief and wiped the wine stains on his cuffs. He said indifferently, "If he smells something he shouldn't smell, I'm afraid he won't even let me in."
The woman's face turned pale and blue, and she frantically wiped the wine stains on her skirt. "Mr. Lu, what do you mean by this?"
"Literally." Lu Yu casually threw the handkerchief into the waiter's tray. "My baby doesn't like others touching my things."
After he said that, he turned and walked away, leaving the woman standing there trembling with anger.
Cheng Yi stepped forward at the right moment and politely handed over his business card: "Miss, you can contact Lu's Finance Department for reimbursement of the dry cleaning fee."
___
After getting in the car, Lu Yu loosened his tie, the coldness between his brows still lingering. He took out his cell phone and dialed Lin Che's number.
The call was quickly picked up, and Lin Che's voice was a little sleepy: "...Is it over?"
Hearing his voice, Lu Yu's expression softened unconsciously: "Yeah, on the way."
Lin Che yawned and said softly, "Then hurry up, I'll wait for you."
Lu Yu chuckled: "Didn't I tell you to go to sleep first?"
There was a rustling sound from the other end of the line, as if Lin Che had turned over: "...I can't sleep."
The smile in Lu Yu's eyes deepened, and his voice was unbelievably gentle: "Ten minutes, I'll be home soon."
____
When he opened the door, he saw only a warm yellow wall lamp in the living room. Lin Che was curled up on the sofa, hugging Lu Yu's pillow, almost falling asleep.
Lu Yu walked over quietly, leaned over and kissed his forehead: "Why are you sleeping here?"
Lin Che opened her eyes half asleep and half awake, subconsciously rubbing against his chest: "...waiting for you."
Lu Yu was so soft-hearted that he just picked him up and carried him to the bedroom.
Lin Che, nestled in Lu Yu's arms, rubbed her eyes and her nose twitched suddenly. "Did you put on perfume?"
Lu Yu lied calmly, "It was in Cheng Yi's car."
Lin Che sniffed suspiciously at his collar, then suddenly narrowed her eyes. "Mr. Lu, besides the scent of perfume, you also smell like women's perfume."
"I met someone who was blind." Lu Yu picked her up and carried her to the bedroom, "and poured a glass of red wine on her."
Lin Che hugged his neck and laughed, "So fierce?"
"Yeah." Lu Yu put him into the bed, leaned over him, his eyes deep, "So, Teacher Lin, do you want to check if there's any smell of someone else on me?"
Lin Che's ears flushed, but he kept a deliberately stern face: "How do I check?"
Lu Yu chuckled, grabbed his hand and pressed it on the button of his shirt: "Check carefully from inside to outside."
The next morning, Lin Che rubbed his aching waist and gritted his teeth as he kicked the person next to him: "Lu Yu! I have an early class today!"
Lu Yu took advantage of the situation and grabbed his ankle, pulled him back into his arms and kissed the top of his head: "I'll take you there."
“No need!” Lin Che got up angrily, but froze when she saw the breakfast tray on the bedside table—the fried eggs were shaped like a heart, and there was a smiley face drawn on the toast with jam.
Lu Yu leaned against the headboard, the morning light tinting his sharp features with a soft, warm hue. "Teacher Lin, have you calmed down?"
Lin Che's lips curled up unconsciously, but then he forced himself to suppress it: "...childish."
Lu Yu came over and tied his tie for him, his fingers turning it deftly: "I told you, my husband has a bad temper." He lowered his head and stole a kiss on Lin Che's lips, "So... I have to keep myself clean."
Lin Che pushed him away with her ears reddened: "...Slippery tongue!"
