Chapter 6: Tears of Retention
In the afternoon, the three of them gathered in the underground conference room on time.
Ali sat in his seat, feeling a little nervous. His forehead was covered with beads of sweat. He rubbed his palms and stared at the screen without blinking.
On the screen, Yu Ze supported half of his face with one hand and looked through the newly submitted merger application of the Shepherd Organization.
After a long moment, Yu Ze put the paper down and looked at the three people: "Are you sure that all the provisions in the application are true?"
"Yes." Ali swallowed and his Adam's apple rolled slightly.
"That's good." Yu Ze sent another document, "What I'm sending you are some of the internal rules of Scorpion Tail, as well as the future treatment of the two of you."
"I believe Qingmeng has already told you two that your rank after joining Scorpion Tail will be leader-level, but according to the rules, your position will be after the previous leaders."
"If there is no problem, please sign your names on the document. Scorpion Tail will send a specialist to pick you up tomorrow."
After Yu Ze finished speaking, he cut off the connection again without any warning.
Yu Qingmeng was very clear that the agreement in the document did not contain any unfair terms.
Ali started to have a headache when he looked at the long text. He casually glanced at the contents of the document, signed his name directly, and pushed the notebook in front of Xu Jingzhe.
"It's your turn, Jingzhe"
Xu Jingzhe glanced at A Lie, reached out and pushed the notebook back: "I... forget it"
After saying that, Xu Jingzhe stood up and left without looking back.
The sudden change caught Ali off guard. He wanted Xu Jingzhe to think about it again, but in the end he did not stand up to stop him.
"Miss Captain, did you have a quarrel with Jingzhe?" Ali asked.
Yu Qingmeng shook her head and told Alie everything that happened on the lawn.
After hearing the whole story, Ali was so shocked that he was speechless. The Xu Jingzhe he knew was a very arrogant person because of his own strength.
Not to mention actively asking for a lifetime companionship, even when a shepherd girl expressed her feelings to him, Xu Jingzhe didn't give her a good face.
"You...refused?" Ali was still in shock and stared at her with his bright eyes.
Under Ali's burning gaze, Yu Qingmeng nodded.
"Jingzhe is such a jerk. I'll say a few words to him later." A Lie sighed. "Although Jingzhe always looks nonchalant and indifferent, he is actually very responsible."
"We, the Shepherd, have basically relied on him to survive until now. To be honest, he is more like the boss of the Shepherd than I am."
After A Lie finished speaking, he looked up at Yu Qingmeng and said, "I'll have someone send the captain back to her room. I'll go and persuade Jingzhe."
On the way back to the room, the ordinary members of the shepherd talked about Xu Jingzhe to Yu Qingmeng.
Xu Jingzhe is the most powerful among the shepherds, several times stronger than Ali. He was also the first to propose joining the Scorpion Tail Organization so that all the shepherds could have a new shelter.
He said: "Second brother once told us that if we could meet the boss of Scorpion Tail one day, we must have a good fight with him."
After sending Yu Qingmeng back to the room, the member left.
The air around seemed to quiet down. Yu Qingmeng sat by the window, looking at the lawn outside.
Although he had never witnessed Xu Jingzhe's strength, Yu Qingmeng could feel from the few words of the members that he was indeed a very powerful person.
Perhaps he is much stronger than Yu Ze, and joining Scorpion Tail will be a great help in fighting against the superiors.
She does have the idea of being with him for the rest of her life, but... as the boss behind the scenes, Yu Qingmeng cannot be willful.
Night falls quietly, taking away the sunshine of the day.
That night, Xu Jingzhe did not come, and there was no sound of footsteps outside the room.
After sitting still all night, Yu Qingmeng washed up and went out.
Early in the morning, the shepherd's village was bustling with activity. Everyone was packing their luggage and loading their belongings into the car.
"Captain!" A familiar voice suddenly came from behind. It was the purchasing team led by Yu Qingmeng.
Yu Qingmeng turned to look at them and asked softly, "Are you... okay?"
"It's okay! Thanks to the captain's good tricks, we can get out of here," said a team member, who was gently pushed by another team member.
You don't have to guess what they mean by "good means".
Yu Qingmeng ignored him and asked directly, "Do you know where the second leader of the shepherd is?"
The team member scratched his head in confusion, then his eyes lit up and he raised his hand to point behind Yu Qingmeng: "Isn't it behind you?"
Hearing this, Yu Qingmeng turned around with a nervous heart. Xu Jingzhe was standing in the corridor, directing the ordinary members in an orderly manner.
Noticing the gaze, Xu Jingzhe turned his head and looked over. After just one glance, he turned his head away and continued to command the members.
"Captain, why are you looking for him? Are you interested in him? What about the boss then?" The team member said as he was elbowed by the person next to him again.
"You wait here for the people sent by Scorpion Tail." Yu Qingmeng gave a few instructions and walked towards Xu Jingzhe.
Noticing that Yu Qingmeng was walking towards him, Xu Jingzhe coughed lightly a few times and looked away again.
Something suddenly fell into his arms. Xu Jingzhe looked down and saw Yu Qingmeng looking up at him with tears in her eyes.
Her hands tightly grasped Xu Jingzhe's clothes, and the people around her stopped moving their luggage because of this huge movement.
The team members behind him wished they could find a hole to crawl into, and the sound of murmuring could be heard not far behind them.
"Look at her. She pounces on a good-looking man as soon as she sees him. Does she have any shame?"
"Have you forgotten how she became captain? She probably jumped on him because of this man's status after joining Scorpion Tail."
"She's the only one who's disgraced Scorpion Tail!"
Ignoring the discussions behind her, Yu Qingmeng hugged him tightly and asked with a choked voice, "Can... can you come back to Scorpion Tail with me?"
Xu Jingzhe didn't answer, so Yu Qingmeng raised her voice and asked, "Would you like to go back to Scorpion Tail with me? I... don't want to... leave you."
"Since Mengbao said so, I'll go to Scorpion Tail to take a look." Xu Jingzhe put his arm around Yu Qingmeng's waist and looked at the members who stopped to watch with a red face, "Are you guys free and have nothing to do? Hurry up and get your luggage in the car."
Seeing that Xu Jingzhe was a little angry, the members around him hurriedly continued to move the luggage.
The team members behind him didn't know where they had hidden. When Yu Qingmeng looked back at the place where they had been before, they had disappeared.
"What are you looking for?" Xu Jingzhe leaned over to wipe away the remaining tears on Yu Qingmeng's cheeks and asked with a smile.
Yu Qingmeng recalled her disregard for her status and her face flushed. She quickly distanced herself from Xu Jingzhe and replied softly, "Nothing... nothing. Thank you... thank you for joining Scorpion Tail."
Xu Jingzhe showed a mysterious smile on his face and put his hand on Yu Qingmeng's shoulder: "Where Mengbao is, how can I, Xu Jingzhe, not be there?"
In fact, Xu Jingzhe went to find Ali last night and signed his name on the document agreement. This sudden change scared Ali again, and he kept talking to him all night.
