Guess what? It turns out that Sheng Xin is the daughter of Lin's mother's friend.
The two played together when they were children.
What a wonderful coincidence!
Two days later, Shen Xing sent a message saying that Lin Zhibai and Sheng Xin had confirmed that they were dating.
That's fast enough.
Yun Suiwan originally wanted to see Sheng Xin, but when she called Lin Zhibai, he said on the phone that he had taken Sheng Xin to a hot spring in the suburbs.
Let's meet in a few days and talk about it then.
Yun Suiwan glanced at the date; there were still three days until Gu Fanyan and Murong Mo began their destination wedding.
At this moment, Lin Zhibai's gaze also fell on the phone screen, and he didn't look away for a long time.
"What are you looking at?" A slender, long hand handed him a glass of juice.
He snapped out of his daze, picked up the cup, turned around, and smiled at the girl beside him.
The girl had a face that resembled Gu Fanyan's; from certain angles, the resemblance was even 100%.
“Let’s see which day is a good day,” Lin Zhibai replied. “Don’t you like the apartment in the city center? Pick a day to pick up the keys.”
Sheng Xin's beautiful eyes lit up with surprise, but then she hesitated, "Today is the fifth day since we met, and the third day since we got together. Is it really appropriate for me to take over your apartment?"
Lin Zhibai smiled: "My girlfriend, if I don't spoil her, who will?"
Sheng Xin smiled sweetly and leaned forward without hesitation to kiss Lin Zhibai. "Brother Zhibai, you're so good to me."
Lin Zhibai gently stroked her hair: "I heard there's a jewelry exhibition on the 7th floor of the hotel. Why don't you go check it out? Send me pictures of whatever you like."
"Aren't you coming with me?" Sheng Xin pouted.
"I have something else to take care of," Lin Zhibai said patiently. "I'll be there in a bit."
Sheng Xin nodded and ran off happily.
Lin Zhibai stared at her figure, lost in thought for a long while.
"She looks a lot like Sister Fanyan, but much more cloying." Shen Xing returned to Lin Zhibai's side.
"Get out," Lin Zhibai said softly.
"Wanwan told me to take a good look." Shen Xinghui shrugged, feeling fearless with Yun Suiwan as his backer.
Lin Zhibai remained silent, continuing to stare blankly at the swimming pool in front of him.
Sheng Xin headed straight to the jewelry exhibition.
This is a marketing exhibition organized by a long-established jewelry company. There are many new products, but also many antique-grade pieces.
Sheng Xin was captivated by what she saw and liked every single one of them.
"Fan Yan, do you like this?" Suddenly, she heard a male voice say behind her.
She turned around in confusion and met a handsome face with a refined and elegant demeanor.
As she looked puzzled, the other person also seemed surprised. "I'm sorry, I mistook you for someone else," the person said immediately, and prepared to leave.
"You ran into a friend?" At that moment, a woman came up to him and looked at him.
Their eyes met, and both of them froze.
Sheng Xin never expected that there would be someone in the world who looked so much like her.
No one would doubt that they are biological sisters.
The person who arrived was Gu Fanyan, and she suddenly understood why Murong Mo was talking to this girl.
It must have been a moment of distraction; I mistakenly thought the other person was me.
“I…I am Sheng Xin,” Sheng Xin said involuntarily. “He mistook me for someone else just now. I heard him call me Fan Yan.”
Gu Fanyan smiled slightly: "Yes, my name is Gu Fanyan, and he is my husband, Murong Mo."
“Murong Mo!” Sheng Xin’s beautiful eyes widened. “Is it the Murong Mo who paints? I saw your work at an art exhibition when I was in college.”
Murong Mo nodded: "I'm really sorry about earlier."
“It’s okay,” Sheng Xin shook her head. “I was surprised myself. If my boyfriend were here, I believe he would definitely admit his mistake.”
"Then we won't bother you any longer," Murong Mo said, not wanting to say anything more to the girl. "Goodbye."
As Sheng Xin watched them turn around, she instinctively called out, "Miss Gu, may I take a picture with you?"
“I…this is the first time I’ve met someone who looks so much like me. I want to take a picture and show it to my family,” Sheng Xin said thoughtfully.
"Don't worry, she's not your long-lost sister." Murong Mo saw through her thoughts.
Sheng Xin was stunned for a moment, feeling somewhat embarrassed.
Gu Fanyan gave Murong Mo a reproachful look, then turned to Sheng Xin and said generously, "Go ahead and take the picture."
At Gu Fanyan's prompting, Murong Mo could only take Sheng Xin's phone and take a picture of the two of them.
Then, Murong Mo led Gu Fanyan to the other side of the convention center.
Sheng Xin immediately sent the photo to Lin Zhibai to share this surprising event with him.
She sent him a message: How amazing, I actually met a girl who looks so much like me.
A moment later, Lin Zhibai replied: It does look very similar.
She immediately replied: Come to the jewelry exhibition! That girl is still here; you can see her for yourself.
Lin Zhibai did not reply to the message.
Sheng Xin guessed that he was probably held up by something, so she took a stroll around the jewelry exhibition herself.
Along the way, she saw Gu Fanyan and Murong Mo twice more in the crowd, and the more she looked at them, the more she felt that she and Gu Fanyan only had similar facial features.
But she didn't have the aura of a great beauty that Gu Fanyan possessed.
Gu Fanyan is the kind of girl that even other girls find stunningly beautiful.
Sheng Xin returned to the poolside and saw that Lin Zhibai didn't seem to have anything urgent; he was just asleep on a beach chair.
Sheng Xin didn't call him. She sat alone by the pool, put her feet down, and kicked the water idly.
"When did you get back?" Lin Zhibai asked, turning around. "Didn't you see any jewelry you liked?"
“Every piece of jewelry there is up for auction,” Sheng Xin shrugged. “I don’t have the money to buy any.”
“Oh,” Lin Zhibai stood up and put his arm around her shoulder, “I’ll go with you. I’ll buy you whatever you like.”
Sheng Xin was then happy.
The jewelry auction has begun.
Gu Fanyan and Murong Mo sat in the front row. Murong Mo turned to a page in the jewelry catalog and was quietly explaining the origin of the jewelry to Gu Fanyan.
"...This piece of jewelry is the most valuable at auction. It's an antique, a royal heirloom from three hundred years ago."
Gu Fanyan glanced down at the catalog. It was indeed beautiful, a palm-sized round pink jade seal, adorned with various gemstones.
“You’re not thinking of buying these for me, are you?” Gu Fanyan smiled slightly. “Actually, I don’t really like these things.”
Murong Mo understood; she had seen plenty of beautiful jewelry since she was a child.
So he wanted to find something special to give her.
He was ready to place a bid when the jewelry went up for auction.
Just then, two people left a short distance away, freeing up two seats, which were immediately filled by two more people.
Immediately afterwards, a surprised female voice rang out: "Brother Zhibai, look, I've run into that girl again."
Gu Fanyan and Murong Mo subconsciously turned their heads and unexpectedly met Lin Zhibai and Sheng Xin's gazes.
Murong Mo's eyes widened slightly as he noticed Lin Zhibai and Sheng Xin's hands clasped tightly together.
