“That’s right,” Lin Guangchen stood up, “I’m also Lin Zhibai’s cousin.”
Gu Fanyan thought for a moment, then got up and came to Lin Zhibai's side with him.
"Fan Yan, go get the first-aid kit from the staff," Lin Guangchen instructed, and Gu Fan Yan did as he said.
However, when she brought the first-aid kit, Lin Zhibai was nowhere to be seen in the private room.
"Young Master Lin insisted that he was fine and left first," an employee said.
"Did he leave alone?" Gu Fanyan asked.
“He insisted on walking alone. We tried to see him off downstairs, but he wouldn’t let us,” the employee replied.
"I'll go take a look." Lin Guangchen walked away.
Gu Fanyan followed.
The two left the bar, but did not see Lin Zhibai.
There were two roads ahead, and it was unclear which one he took.
Lin Guangchen was a little worried: "His injured leg is not recovering well, and the wound on his leg is still bleeding. If something else happens, it will be difficult to explain."
He was also puzzled: "Why is he so irritable tonight? He won't even let me treat his wound."
Gu Fanyan pursed her lips slightly: "There are two paths here, let's each take one."
Gu Fanyan chose the left-hand path and walked into a small alley.
After passing through the alley, she saw a car parked on the side of the road, and Lin Zhibai was standing next to the car.
She walked over and found that it was an empty car.
"Where is your assistant?" she asked, crouching down to examine the wound on his leg.
One of the wounds was quite long and was still bleeding.
"Who are you arguing with? Aren't you afraid of getting tetanus?" she asked again. "Where's your assistant?"
"No one's coming tonight," Lin Zhibai said with a stern face. "You handle it."
Is this considered a threat to her?
Gu Fanyan really wanted to turn around and leave, but after calming down and thinking about it, she realized that if something really happened to him, Lin's mother would bother her again.
What she needs to do now is find a medical facility and get his wound treated.
"Let me take you to the hospital," she said.
“I can’t move.” He held out a hand to her.
The meaning was clear: she needed to help him into the car.
She's helped him inside now, but she'll have to help him out later.
Gu Fanyan ignored him and instead took out her phone and opened the electronic map.
Then she pushed her wheelchair forward.
Along the way, many passersby cast admiring glances at them.
"This couple is so good-looking."
"Is he a celebrity? Is he filming a variety show?"
"She's prettier than a celebrity, especially that girl, she could play Daji."
Gu Fanyan: ...
Couldn't she have played one of the Four Beauties of ancient China or something...?
Gu Fanyan rarely takes walks on the street, and this is the first time she has been judged by passersby.
With social media platforms so prevalent now, if the photos are seen by the Lin family or other family members, another controversy is inevitable.
She glanced at Lin Zhibai and stopped at the corner.
"Lin Zhibai, take off your shirt," she said.
Lin Zhibai raised an eyebrow: "Here? Isn't that a bit too unrestrained?"
"Shut up!" Gu Fanyan glared at him, stopping his nonsense.
He was clearly wearing a vest underneath.
She used Lin Zhibai's shirt as a scarf to wrap her long, curly hair.
That way, she wouldn't stand out so much when she walked down the street.
Not long after, she pushed Lin Zhibai to a clinic and asked the clinic's nurse to treat his wounds.
She stood to the side, taking off the shirt from her head. Just then, Sheng Xin called.
“I’ve arrived at the bar, where is Brother Zhibai?” Sheng Xin asked.
Gu Fanyan walked out of the clinic: "I brought him to the clinic. I'll send you his location."
Sheng Xin was stunned for a moment, "Miss Gu, you're not playing a trick on me, are you?"
"Whether you come or not is up to you." Gu Fanyan hung up the phone and sent her location.
Back at the clinic, the doctor examined Lin Zhibai and said, "This wound is over eight centimeters long and needs stitches."
"Prepare for local anesthesia," the doctor instructed the nurse.
“No anesthesia is needed,” Lin Zhibai said.
Gu Fanyan was stunned. She hadn't realized before that Lin Zhibai was such a ruthless person.
Turning her head, she saw the anesthetic needle in the nurse's hand. The needle was at least 5 centimeters long, and she understood why Lin Zhibai was unwilling to be anesthetized.
Either the pain comes from the anesthetic injection or the stitches, and he simply chose the latter.
The doctor is about to stitch me up. "It will hurt a little, just bear with it."
Gu Fanyan suddenly felt a tightness in her wrist; Lin Zhibai had gripped her wrist firmly.
"You should get an anesthetic injection," Gu Fanyan said.
“No need, I can tolerate it,” he replied.
He was able to tolerate it, regardless of whether her wrist could withstand it.
"Brother Zhibai!" At this moment, Sheng Xin walked in from outside with a worried look on her face. "What's wrong, Brother Zhibai!"
She was heartbroken to see the doctor stitching her up.
Gu Fanyan freed her wrist from Lin Zhibai's grasp and said to Sheng Xin, "You've come at the right time. Young Master Lin needs an assistant to stitch up."
Sheng Xin stepped forward and offered her hand.
Gu Fanyan walked out of the clinic, thinking that there was nothing more for her to do and she could leave.
Sheng Xin followed her out and called out, "Miss Gu, Brother Zhibai wants you to wait a moment. He has something to discuss with you regarding the project."
Gu Fanyan looked at her in confusion. Did Lin Zhibai no longer need to grab someone's wrist to distract her from the pain?
He couldn't bear to hold Sheng Xin's slender and delicate wrist, could he?
After he finished stitching up, Gu Fanyan took a look and, sure enough, there were several bloody marks on his palm.
I'd rather pinch myself than pinch Sheng Xin.
"Give me two bottles of anti-inflammatory injections before I leave," the doctor said. "We just removed several pieces of glass from the wound, so it's not safe to leave without anti-inflammatory treatment."
With the IV drip in place, Lin Zhibai instructed Sheng Xin, "Assistant Sheng, go to the company and bring over a copy of the newly completed project documents for Sister Fan Yan."
Sheng Xin left very reluctantly.
Gu Fanyan sat down next to Lin Zhibai. "Any changes to the project?"
Lin Zhibai asked, "Is everything arranged for the trip to the resort the day after tomorrow?"
Gu Fanyan frowned impatiently: "You talk about your business, and I'll talk about mine. It's none of Young Master Lin's business."
"It seems Sister Fanyan is very confident." He smiled, his tone laced with sarcasm.
"What do you mean?" She understood.
At this moment, he closed his eyes and remained silent.
"Tuantuan Takeout, may I ask which one of you is Mr. Lin?" A deliveryman walked in.
Lin Zhibai raised his hand and waved.
The delivery driver put the plastic bag down.
Lin Zhibai took a box out of the plastic bag and kept turning it over.
Just then, Lin Guangchen sent a message, and Gu Fanyan replied with her head down, ignoring what Lin Zhibai was doing.
Until he called out to her, "Sister Fanyan, try this. It's a new variety, small pit, lots of flesh."
She then saw that he had handed her a glass containing a few peeled lychees.
Good heavens!
He's been holding this in for so long!
