Chapter 588 None of us can handle this well

“It’s actually very simple,” Lin Guangchen shrugged, “I just can’t stand… Lin Zhibai’s arrogant attitude! I want to teach him a lesson!”

"You're lying!"

Lin Guangchen smiled, "Why don't you believe how jealous I am of Lin Zhibai?"

"Even though I'm the most hardworking and outstanding one, everyone's attention is always focused on him!"

“When I get first place, my family praises me, but whenever Lin Zhibai appears, their conversation always turns to Lin Zhibai. It’s always been like this.”

“I didn’t understand before, but now I see it. Lin Zhibai can give up everything, but he can’t let go of you. So the best way to make him feel frustrated and heartbroken is to make you hate him and leave him, isn’t it?”

Gu Fanyan looked into his eyes, so calm and clear, without the slightest hint of evasion when he was lying.

"Are you sure what you're doing has nothing to do with Gu Zheng?" Gu Fanyan asked.

Lin Guangchen's expression changed slightly. "It's alright." But he immediately denied it.

"That would be best," Gu Fanyan said, "otherwise Gu Zheng will also be finished."

She turned and left.

Lin Guangchen clenched his fists tightly.

Gu Fanyan returned to the car, and her assistant rushed over.

"Is the mental evaluation of Sheng Xin complete?" she asked.

“Yes, Miss, but…” the assistant looked troubled.

Gu Fanyan gestured for him to bring the report. Upon opening it, she found that Sheng Xin did indeed have a mental illness and was advised to be hospitalized for treatment.

She stared at the report and ordered, "Find another organization, the best in the world."

The assistant could only answer truthfully: "Foreign certifications aren't necessarily recognized domestically. Miss, this is the eighth authentication already; we've contacted all the authoritative institutions in China!"

She glared at her assistant: "Are you trying to convince me that Sheng Xin is mentally ill, so that I can legally and legitimately escape from that place?"

The assistant looked at her with concern: "Miss, I just think you should get some rest."

These days, the young lady is on edge.

Gu Fanyan ignored her and drove away.

She didn't go home; with this report in hand, she simply couldn't face her mother.

She went to the bar and sat at the counter: "A Flame, please."

The bar wasn't open yet, and the staff were cleaning.

The manager winked at the bartender, signaling him to pour Gu Fanyan a drink.

A cup of fire was pushed in front of her. She picked up the cup and drank it all in one gulp. "Another cup, please."

The waiter poured her three glasses in a row.

The high concentration of alcohol constantly irritated her throat, heart, and lungs, finally easing the tightness in her chest.

Just then, a familiar scent came to her side, and strong arms pulled her into a hug.

She looked up from his embrace and met Lin Zhibai's face.

His eyes were full of doting affection as he lowered his head and kissed her lips.

A small taste, yet it brings a sense of comfort and warmth.

He knew what had happened and that she was upset.

"How could she have mental problems?" she didn't understand.

There's no doubt about the doctors who did the testing; she personally oversaw the testing of all seven doctors in a row.

Even being bribed wouldn't be this fast.

Moreover, Shengxin couldn't offer the doctor any more.

“It’s alright,” Lin Zhibai comforted softly, “Come with me.”

He grabbed her hand and led her out of the bar.

The car continued forward, taking a route she rarely traveled, and the location became increasingly remote.

"Where are you taking me?" she asked.

"You'll see when we get there." Lin Zhibai smiled slightly. "Don't be afraid, I'm here."

The destination was an abandoned warehouse, specifically one of the rooms.

This place is very remote; it's the kind of place where no one will pass by for days.

His men opened the warehouse door, and it was quite empty inside.

There was a chair in the middle, and a person was sitting on the chair, and he was tied up.

Upon closer inspection, Gu Fanyan realized that the person was actually Sheng Xin.

She kept her head down, eyes closed, and motionless; it was unclear whether she was asleep or had fainted.

"Lin Zhibai, what do you mean?" She had a guess, but she couldn't believe it.

“It’s exactly what you’re thinking,” Lin Zhibai said. “Those expert reports are meaningless. She’s right here. You can vent your anger however you want.”

“I’ll clean it up,” he said.

As soon as he finished speaking, his assistants standing in the warehouse silently turned and left.

Lin Zhibai reached out and placed something in her hand.

She felt it—cold, hard, like a folding knife.

She approached Shengxin step by step.

At that time, Sheng Xin was holding a dagger and stabbed her mother without any mercy.

Now, Sheng Xin is able to escape the punishment he should have received simply because of a mental health evaluation report!

Gu Fanyan couldn't accept it!

If Sheng Xin is still alive, she can't live well!

She unfolded the folding knife, the light illuminating the cold, sharp edge of the blade!

Shengxin is right in front of you!

With just one stroke of her knife, she could vent her hatred!

However, as she raised the folding knife, her gaze involuntarily fell on Sheng Xin's lower abdomen.

There was a child inside.

Perhaps Sheng Xin won't die from these few cuts.

She didn't need to kill Sheng Xin; at most, she could let Sheng Xin suffer the pain of knife wounds.

But Shengxin's child is definitely not going to stay.

In her mind, that rainy night, that helpless figure running through the rain, reappeared.

"Clatter!" The folding knife slipped from her hand and fell to the ground.

She turned and ran out of the warehouse.

"Fan Yan!" Lin Zhibai picked up the folding knife and chased after her.

"Fanyan!" He caught up with Gu Fanyan and found that she was already in tears.

He didn't understand.

"Are you scared? Don't be afraid, I'm here, I'll handle everything."

“No, you can’t handle anything.” Gu Fanyan interrupted him, tears still rolling down her cheeks, but her eyes were calm. “I can’t handle it either. None of us can.”

Lin Zhibai didn't know how to respond.

“Have someone take me home,” she said. “I want to go home.”

"I'll take you," he said.

"No, I want to be alone." She shook her head.

She insisted on leaving alone.

When she got home, she was exhausted and collapsed on the bed, not wanting to move at all.

Just then, her phone rang; she received a message from Lin Zhibai.

Are you home yet?

She didn't answer.

His assistant brought her home, and he knew perfectly well whether she got home or not.

He just wanted an excuse to talk to her.

But she's very tired right now and just wants to close her eyes and rest.

She turned her phone face down and drifted off to sleep.

She didn't know how long she had slept, but she woke up groggily to the sound of her phone ringing.

Yun Suiwan sent her a photo.

Lin Zhibai sat in a corner of the bar, drinking alone, looking particularly lonely.

She sat up and exhaled.

Gu's mother had just returned home and was talking to the nanny: "Yan'er didn't eat dinner today?"

The nanny nodded: "I went upstairs as soon as I got back."

As they were talking, Gu Fanyan came downstairs, wearing a white dress and light makeup.
