The marriage between Yun Suiwan and Lu Dongjue did not go through. Grandpa Lu only blamed his grandson for being disappointing. He still loved Yun Suiwan as if she were his own granddaughter.
"Thank you, Grandpa." Yun Suiwan nodded gratefully.
She didn't explain to the old man that the supplements had basically no relation to her health condition.
"At the end of the year, I really need to learn from you," Gu Fanyan said with a smile. "You and Dongjue have already broken up, yet Grandpa still cares about you so much. What method did you use?"
Every word she uttered was a sarcastic jab at Yun Suiwan, calling her a scheming woman. Yet, she wore a smile and spoke in a humble tone. If you refuted her, those who didn't understand would say you were being naive.
But Yun Suiwan is not the same Yun Suiwan as before; the friendship between the two had long been torn to shreds by Gu Fanyan herself.
"Sister Fanyan, are you trying to imply to Grandpa and Lu Dongjue that I'm still using tricks and schemes to try and snatch Lu Dongjue away?" She went straight to the point, too lazy to waste words with her.
Gu Fanyan was slightly taken aback, "I...I didn't mean that..."
"So what do you mean? Are you complaining that Grandpa shouldn't be so good to me?" Yun Suiwan fired off a barrage of questions.
A hint of panic flashed in Gu Fanyan's eyes. "Grandpa, that's not what I meant."
She looked at Lu Dongjue pitifully again, "I'm sorry, Dongjue, I misspoke."
Her tearful appearance resembled the delicate and pitiful pear blossoms after a spring rain.
"It's nothing." Lu Dongjue uttered two words softly, but they carried a lot of weight.
Yun Suiwan felt a pang of sorrow welling up in her heart.
Her intelligence and eloquence, her words like pearls, could not compare to Lu Dongjue's words of tolerance towards Gu Fanyan.
“Fanyan, my concern for Yun has nothing to do with Dongjue,” Grandpa Lu said. “I, this old man, wholeheartedly want Yun to be my daughter-in-law, but Dongjue is not so fortunate.”
Gu Fanyan is also the eldest daughter of the Gu family, so Grandpa Lu could only say this much.
"Alright, let's not talk about the past," Grandpa Lu said with a smile. "I'm relieved to see that you're in good spirits today. It's almost lunchtime, why don't you have a meal with Grandpa before you go? I've asked the kitchen to make some soup."
To be honest, Yun Suiwan didn't want to stay here and make herself feel awkward.
"Second Uncle!" Just then, a shrill female voice came from outside the door.
Immediately afterwards, Yun Wanqing walked in.
Yun Suiwan thought the voice sounded familiar, but she never expected it to be her.
Grandpa Lu was also somewhat puzzled and couldn't figure out what was going on.
The youngest man present responded and asked, "Why are you here?"
Yun Wanqing smiled and said, "I heard from my dad that you were here, so I came to see you."
Grandpa Lu asked the old man next to him, "Old Qi, who brought this person? What is his identity?"
Old Qi replied, "The one Old Zhuang brought is not the one I introduced to you. His surname is Huo, from the Huo family in City C. He runs his own small company."
Grandpa Lu remembered that such a thing had happened, but at the time he was playing chess with someone and didn't take it seriously at all.
Yun Suiwan sneered inwardly. Yun Wanqing and the Huo family had gone so far as to set up a scheme against Grandpa Lu. They were incredibly audacious.
She now wants to stay; she wants to see what other tricks Yun Wanqing has up her sleeve.
Uncle Huo stood up, with a humble smile, and introduced to the old men present: "This is my eldest brother's daughter, Yun Wanqing. Wanqing, please greet all of you grandfathers."
His elder brother's daughter, Yun Wanqing?
The old men were all completely bewildered.
Yun Wanqing smiled broadly and was humble and polite: "Greetings, gentlemen. My second uncle told me that you are all very capable people. Please teach me more."
"No problem, no problem," the old men nodded in agreement.
"Since you're here, have some food before you leave," Old Zhuang said casually, after all, you can't hit someone who's smiling.
"It is my honor to have dinner with you gentlemen," Yun Wanqing replied obediently.
Grandpa Lu couldn't sit still any longer, so he called Yun Suiwan to the side hall.
"Yun girl, what exactly happened? Isn't Yun Wanqing your sister? How did she become the daughter of the Huo family?" he asked in confusion.
"Grandpa Lu, here's what happened." Yun Suiwan explained the whole story.
Yun Wanqing's biological mother is Chen Lizhen.
Chen Lizhen became Huo Zhengkun's mistress, which led to the death of Huo Zhengkun's first wife. Later, she became his legal wife.
Yun Wanqing naturally called Huo Zhengkun "Dad" and became a member of the Huo family.
Ultimately, since she couldn't get any more benefits from the Yun family, she naturally had to cling to the Huo family in order to maintain her status as a socialite.
Grandpa Lu suddenly realized and snorted angrily, "It's only right that she acknowledges her birth mother, but to move into the Huo family like this and ignore her adoptive parents is truly an ingrate."
Grandpa Lu had a very low opinion of Yun Wanqing's behavior.
He warned Yun Suiwan, "Your younger sister is not simple; you should stay away from her."
Yun nodded late in the year, saying that when it comes to judging people, experience is invaluable.
After the meal was served, Yun Wanqing also took her seat with Uncle Huo.
The waiter brought over freshly squeezed juice, ready to pour it for the guests, when Yun Wanqing stepped forward and took the juice bottle in her hand.
"I'll pour juice for the grandfathers," Yun Wanqing said with a smile.
Based on Yun Suiwan's understanding of her, this was truly an act of offering unsolicited favors.
A moment later, Yun Wanqing came to Yun Suiwan's side. "Sister," she asked with a smile, "you are so filial. Young Master Lu is already with Miss Gu, and you still come to have dinner with Grandpa Lu."
Yun Suiwan smiled calmly, "What, have you never been in a relationship? You have to be so dramatic after a breakup, and even stipulate that your ex can't start a new relationship?"
Suppressing her anger, Yun Wanqing chuckled softly, "Sister is so open-minded. I can't. If I fall in love with someone, I'll definitely give it my all. If I get heartbroken, I won't be able to get over it for years. Marrying someone else is even more impossible."
Wow, the gold plating is so bright it could blind you.
"Young lady, it seems you are very loyal." Before Yun Suiwan could speak, Grandpa Lu spoke first, "But I heard that you haven't seen your adoptive parents for more than half a year?"
Yun Suiwan was taken aback. When it came to witty comebacks, Grandpa Lu was in no way inferior to the young people.
The other old men all cast questioning glances at Yun Wanqing.
Yun Wanqing was so embarrassed that she couldn't stand up straight.
Uncle Huo quickly smoothed things over: "Mr. Lu, Wanqing is usually very busy. If there are any things he doesn't do well, my brother and I will definitely urge him on."
"Wanqing, hurry up and pour everyone some juice."
Yun Wanqing suppressed her anger and continued to pour juice for Yun Suiwan, a cold smile playing on her lips.
Drink up, drink up, drink it all, and she'll have achieved her goal.
Yun Suiwan glanced at Yun Wanqing out of the corner of her eye and found Yun Wanqing's bright red manicure particularly glaring.
Yun Wanqing poured juice for everyone present and raised her glass first, saying, "Everyone here is my elder, so I'll toast you all first."
After saying that, she tilted her head back and drank a glass of wine.
The old men all raised their glasses; after all, they were from the Huo family in City C, and they had to show them face.
Yun Suiwan stared at the juice in the glass; she was certain there was something wrong with it.
Yun Wanqing would not humbly serve others tea and water without a reason.
But if she doesn't drink, Yun Wanqing will definitely cause trouble again.
