Chapter 599 The wedding will be postponed.

Lu Dongjue felt that their matter was quite tricky, and since it concerned Gu's mother, he could only help and couldn't say anything.

"I'm leaving now. Call me if you need anything." He left first.

Lin Zhibai sat down next to Gu Fanyan without saying a word.

"You're worried about hurting people if I don't want you to?" Gu Fanyan asked.

“My dad called. Dr. Li wants us to find a doctor to work with him on the treatment plan.”

Gu Fanyan continued, "Guess who this doctor is?"

Lin Zhibai was stunned and speechless. He hadn't expected that a top expert like Dr. Li would also need to find Lin Guangchen.

“Dr. Li cannot be bribed by him, nor can he bribe Dr. Li,” Lin Zhibai replied confidently.

“So what he said is true,” Gu Fanyan said. “He is crucial to my mother’s condition.”

Lin Zhibai lowered his head and didn't say anything more.

He couldn't selfishly demand that Gu Fanyan sever ties with Lin Guangchen.

"I'm going to the hospital, my dad is waiting for me." Gu Fanyan stood up and walked out.

Lin Zhibai watched her retreating figure, feeling lost and anxious. The words "Sister Fanyan" were on the tip of his tongue, but he couldn't bring himself to say them...

As she reached the door, Gu Fanyan suddenly stopped and turned to look at him. "Baotou Mountain... it might be a while before we can go there," she said apologetically.

Lin Zhibai's eyes visibly relaxed; he wanted to laugh inside, but his face looked like he was about to cry.

He really thought for a moment that she was going to abandon him like this.

"Fool." She glanced at him, her gaze soft, before turning and leaving.

Lin Zhibai realized what was happening and immediately took a step to catch up.

Gu's mother's condition did not worsen, but it did not improve either; she remained in a coma.

The following morning, Lin Guangchen arrived at the hospital and met with Gu Fanyan.

Gu Fanyan glanced at her watch subconsciously.

Lin Guangchen curled his lips into a half-smile, "I'm always punctual."

Gu Fanyan smiled coldly: "I really didn't expect you to be an expert in this area."

“You should be able to guess,” Lin Guangchen replied, “Since I came to this city, many wealthy women have asked me to be their family doctor. Whether it’s a headache or a fever, or a routine check-up, they all want my advice.”

Gu Fanyan was stunned. She had a feeling that there was a lot of information in those words, but she couldn't figure it out for the moment.

"Dr. Lin!" At that moment, Dr. Li came over.

The two embraced warmly and exchanged several pleasantries, appearing to be very familiar with each other.

Gu Fanyan stepped forward and tentatively asked, "Dr. Li, do you and Dr. Lin have a good relationship?"

Dr. Li frankly and openly stated, "That's right, Dr. Lin is my idol."

"Miss Gu, is everyone here? Let's go inside and talk." Dr. Li was a professional, his mind focused on Gu's mother's condition.

Lin Guangchen deliberately slowed down a step, approached Gu Fanyan, and whispered, "There's no need to probe so cautiously; you'll soon find out the truth."

After saying that, he went inside.

Gu Fanyan's steps faltered involuntarily. Looking at his back, a strange fear rose in her heart.

"Sister Fanyan." The familiar voice pulled her out of her fear.

Lin Zhibai took her hand, and the warmth of his palm restored some of her strength.

The two walked into the small conference room. Lin Guangchen's gaze drifted over and landed on their tightly clasped hands, and he gave a cold smile.

Dr. Li explained the test results of Mrs. Gu in detail. "I think Mrs. Gu can be treated with medication, but I have tried several kinds of medicine and she still hasn't woken up."

He looked at Lin Guangchen: "Dr. Lin, you have treated patients with more severe symptoms than Mrs. Gu, and I heard that the results were very good. I would like to get your advice."

"What's your biggest problem right now?" Lin Guangchen asked.

“Based on the current data, Mrs. Gu should have woken up by now.” Dr. Li frowned deeply.

Lin Guangchen said "Oh," and then said, "Let me see all the medicines you've used."

Dr. Li looked delighted, as if he had been given a rare opportunity.

When his assistant brought the medicine box over, he even took it from him personally and handed it to Lin Guangchen.

Lin Guangchen glanced at the medicine in his house and said, "Give me 10 minutes."

He picked up the medicine box, got up, and went out.

"Dr. Li, what's going on?" Lin Zhibai asked.

Gu's father and Gu Fanyan also looked at Dr. Li.

"With Dr. Lin's help, things are much simpler," Dr. Li said excitedly. "Dr. Lin is willing to help me with the prescription! You don't know, this is his specialty!"

Less than 10 minutes later, Lin Guangchen returned with a bottle of injection fluid in his hand.

"Take this and try it." He handed the vial of injection to Dr. Li.

Dr. Li was overjoyed and thanked him repeatedly, pleading, "Dr. Lin, may I extract a small amount for research?"

"Whatever," Lin Guangchen said indifferently.

Lin Zhibai finally understood that Dr. Li planned to inject this medicine into Gu's mother.

This medicine was prepared by Lin Guangchen.

"Dr. Li, is this safe?" Lin Zhibai questioned. "This medicine hasn't been certified or endorsed by any manufacturer. Who will be responsible if something goes wrong?"

Dr. Li stared blankly for a moment, unable to respond.

His assistant said, "Dr. Lin doesn't prescribe medication often, but every patient who has used it experiences a complete recovery or relief of their symptoms!"

Some doctors do have this skill; they are familiar with the properties of various drugs and know how to combine them to achieve the best results.

This is considered a high level of professional skill.

Lin Zhibai, however, did not believe that Lin Guangchen had such good intentions.

Lin Guangchen didn't care. "Dr. Li, the family's approval is still necessary before administering medication. However, I suggest you have the family sign a waiver. If the optimal treatment time has passed, they will blame you again."

Yes.

The hospital director also said that since Gu's mother had been in a coma for more than 72 hours, no one could say what would happen next.

"Dr. Li, administer the medication." Mr. Gu made up his mind.

Time passed little by little.

Gu Fanyan sat on a bench in the hospital, lost in thought.

Suddenly, the sound of Lin Zhibai arguing came from an office not far away.

"If you can't do it, I can replace you. You took it upon yourself to invite Lin Guangchen over, and I have reason to suspect that you have ulterior motives!" Lin Zhibai rebuked Dr. Li harshly.

“Young Master Lin, that’s not fair,” Dr. Li protested. “I’m a doctor, and my job is to save patients.”

He retorted to Lin Zhibai, "You know perfectly well that Dr. Lin can cure Mrs. Gu, so why did you turn him away? What are you up to?"

Lin Zhibai immediately became furious: "Is this a question you should be asking?"

"I act according to my conscience, and there's nothing I shouldn't ask."

Lin Zhibai pointed to the door: "Get the hell out of here now!"

"Young Master Lin!" Mr. Gu arrived at the door. "From now on, Dr. Li will be employed by me."

Lin Zhibai's face turned pale.
