“That’s right,” Gu Fanyan replied, “So you should remind Lin Zhibai not to let himself go and ruin himself in my hands.”
Lin Guangchen was taken aback for a moment, then said, "It's not a big problem. I'll prescribe some topical medicine for you."
Lin Guangchen returned to the table to prescribe medicine. The door was pushed open, and Lin Zhibai stood by the door, leaning against one shoulder.
"The scar removal medicine you gave me last time wasn't very effective," he said. "If the medicine you prescribed this time isn't effective either, I won't come to you for a consultation next time."
"You want me to cancel my sponsorship of the hospital as well."
Lin Guangchen paused on the keyboard, a cold smile playing on his lips: "Whether it works or not is not up to you to decide."
Gu Fanyan stepped out from behind the curtain and said, "Dr. Lin, I've troubled you twice. Let me treat you to dinner after you get off work."
Lin Zhibai said nonchalantly, "He didn't get a free consultation; he earned a registration fee."
Lin Guangchen nodded: "Okay, I'll be off work in half an hour."
Gu Fanyan smiled and said, "I'll decide on the location."
Neither of them took Lin Zhibai seriously.
Gu Fanyan sent Lin Guangchen an address and then took a taxi.
After Lin Guangchen finished packing, he went to the parking lot alone. Just as he got into the driver's seat, the passenger door opened and Lin Zhibai got in.
Lin Guangchen looked at him in surprise, "You're really something, I thought you left a long time ago."
"I took care of something in the car just now," Lin Zhibai said calmly. "It's not appropriate for you and Gu Fanyan to have dinner alone. It's better if I'm there too."
Lin Guangchen saw through everything and smiled: "Miss Gu is older than you, isn't she?"
"What's wrong?" Lin Zhibai asked in return.
“Indeed, with Miss Gu’s beauty, one can completely overlook her age,” Lin Guangchen continued. “But I didn’t expect you to like this type.”
"It has nothing to do with which one I own," Lin Zhibai replied, a hint of sadness flashing in his eyes.
Lin Guangchen didn't quite understand what he meant, but, "You brought Miss Gu here to me, not so I could help you pursue her, right?"
Lin Zhibai scoffed: "Do I need your help to pursue women?"
"Besides, Gu Fanyan was originally mine."
Lin Guangchen was stunned for a moment, not expecting Lin Zhibai to have such a strong desire for Gu Fanyan.
He wanted to say that, judging from Gu Fanyan's attitude, you might be just wishful thinking... But after thinking about it, he couldn't bring himself to say it.
Gu Fanyan sat on a chair in the restaurant, watching Lin Guangchen and Lin Zhibai walk in side by side.
She didn't say much, but simply handed the menu to Lin Guangchen, "Dr. Lin, see what you'd like to eat."
Lin Guangchen glanced at Lin Zhibai: "Zhibai, why don't you order first?"
He realized that Gu Fanyan was intentionally ignoring Lin Zhibai.
However, Lin Zhibai shook his head: "Sister Fanyan knows what I like to eat."
Lin Guangchen... felt like he'd been fed a mouthful of dog food (a Chinese slang term for witnessing public displays of affection).
He had good intentions, not wanting Lin Zhibai to feel awkward from being ignored.
"Zhibai, you and Miss Gu are quite familiar with each other?" Lin Guangchen asked casually after ordering the menu.
"I grew up with Sister Fanyan and experienced many firsts in my life."
Lin Zhibai looked at Gu Fanyan, "Right, Sister Fanyan?"
There was a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Gu Fanyan hummed in agreement. "The first time he wet the bed, I was the one who told his mother."
They retaliated without hesitation.
Lin Guangchen struggled to suppress his laughter and couldn't help but glance at Gu Fanyan a couple more times.
Gu Fanyan was quite different from the other young ladies he had met before.
His attacks were sharp and direct, drawing blood without being sharp.
"Fan Yan!" Suddenly, a familiar voice was heard.
Gu Fanyan turned her head and immediately felt a chill run down her spine.
Aunt Bao and Mom, why are they eating here too!
Gu's mother's gaze fell on Lin Zhibai, and her face immediately darkened, "Fan Yan..."
Before she could finish speaking, Aunt Bao leaned over, her eyes crinkling with laughter: "Look, it's that young man, Lin Guangchen, Dr. Lin, the one I told you about last time."
Mother Gu remembered; there was indeed such a thing.
Aunt Bao immediately said, "Fanyan, so you know Dr. Lin? I even told your mother last time that I wanted to introduce you two to each other on a blind date."
Gu Fanyan was full of questions.

Lin Guangchen nodded politely: "Auntie, I am a surgeon and I just returned to China not long ago."
Mrs. Gu nodded and asked, "Do you have a girlfriend?"
Lin Guangchen shook his head: "I don't have a girlfriend."
Mother Gu stopped speaking and only smiled slightly.
The meaning behind this smile is quite profound.
Seeing this, Aunt Bao knew that Gu's mother did not object.
She said, "Okay, okay, Dr. Lin, you two chat slowly, let's go inside and have lunch."
Before leaving, she said to Lin Zhibai, "Young Master Lin, you've known Fan Yan for so many years. You have nothing to offer your brother, so you should leave early."
You're a grown man, don't just stand here like a third wheel.
Lin Zhibai's gaze darkened slightly, and he remained silent.
After Gu's mother and Aunt Bao left, Lin Guangchen nudged him with his elbow, "Why are you still standing here?"
Lin Zhibai stood up and left without saying a word.

Gu Fanyan sensed that a storm was brewing.

Gu Fanyan breathed a sigh of relief.
After finishing her meal and returning home, she drove to her doorstep, subconsciously slowing down and glancing around the car windows.
She subconsciously felt that Lin Zhibai would be waiting at the door.
He did this many times before.
But today, he was nowhere to be seen.
She suddenly realized what she was doing, was she hoping he would come?
