Chapter 5

Chapter 5

5

Cheng Yeran fell off the bed in shock.

"What to do? Don't do it!" Cheng Yeran felt that it was not his fault for thinking in the wrong way. His expression seemed to be tempting him to do that kind of thing. This was too much of a homosexuality. Could this show still be broadcast?

"You took a bath specially and came back. Don't you want to spend the wedding night with me?" Shen Yuntang felt that if a lazy man could take a bath specially and come back, he must be doing it for that purpose.

Originally, he disliked Cheng Yeran because he was smelly and dirty, but now that he has washed himself, he has no reason to dislike him anymore.

"Ah?" Cheng Yeran was shocked. Is this going to be performed? How to act this out?

"What?" Shen Yuntang could see the resistance in his expression. His self-esteem was hurt, and he turned over and lay on the bed with his back to him, "You can do it or not, I don't want to do it with you.

Shen Yuntang was so angry. He was just a lazy guy. If he hadn't rolled into the water at the same time as him, he would have never had any contact with him in this life. Why did he look at him with such a surprised look and dared to reject him!

Since he was born, everyone, whether family members or villagers, have praised him for his good looks. Before he got engaged to the Xia family, those who came to propose marriage would come to his house and break down the door.

He's just a lazy guy, why is he like this, are all men so annoying?

He lay there angrily and heard Cheng Yeran get on the bed and lie down beside him. He breathed evenly and fell asleep very quickly. Unlike him, his mind was restless and he didn't feel sleepy at all.

The next morning he woke up with dark circles under his eyes.

He sat on the bed for a long time before he realized that he was reborn and married to the lazy man in the village.

It's daybreak outside, time for breakfast.

It was the first time he woke up at this hour. Before he got married, he had to prepare breakfast for his father and brothers with his mother before dawn. After he got married, he also had to get up before dawn to feed the livestock and do other trivial housework.

He still remembered the second day after he and Xia Xiaowu got married. He had woken up very early, even earlier than when he was at home, but his mother-in-law still grabbed his ears and scolded him as a lazy guy.

Now he is really a lazy guy. All the lazy people have gotten up, but he is still lying in bed.

Cheng Yeran was washing up outside. When he saw him coming out, he waved at him and said, "Are you cosplaying as a giant panda? Why don't you get some more sleep if you're so tired?"

Shen Yuntang looked surprised. He didn't understand the previous sentence, but he understood the sentence about letting him sleep a little longer. It was just a short sentence that made his eyes sore. "I got up later than you, don't you blame me for being lazy?"

"There's nothing to do, why do you get up so early? Don't worry, if there's something to do, I will pull you out of bed." Cheng Yeran thought to himself, this kid acted so well yesterday, why did he become so reserved early this morning? Could it be that he just woke up and is still confused?

As the two were talking, an auntie came in with a basket on her shoulder. She smiled kindly and praised them: "You two have a great relationship. You will have a big fat boy by this time next year. If you have any questions, please ask me for help. I have given birth to six children, so I am the best at raising them."

Shen Yuntang recognized her. She was Aunt Li who lived next door to Cheng Yeran. He asked politely, "Aunt, what's the matter with you coming here so early in the morning?"

"Isn't this food for you two?" Aunt Li smiled and lifted the cloth covering the basket. Inside were two bowls of multi-grain porridge and two plates of pickles.

In the past, when Shen Yuntang was at home, the neighbors would help each other or send things to each other. He thought that Aunt Li saw that they had just gotten married and had nothing at home, so she kindly sent them some breakfast.

He quickly took it and thanked her. He also thought that he would give Aunt Li some gifts in return when his home was fully stocked.

"Don't be polite. I used to deliver it to him alone, but now there are two of you, so I'll deliver it to both of you." Aunt Li said with a smile.

Shen Yuntang always felt that something was strange, but with his experience, he did not think about it in a bad way. He thought that Aunt Li felt sorry for Cheng Yeran because he lost his parents when he was young. She felt sorry for Cheng Yeran. Before, his parents sent a lot of vegetables and food to the neighbor's family when they were in trouble. Later, when the family recovered, they also helped his family a lot. "I'm sorry for bothering you in the past. If you have any problems in the future, please call us."

"You're too polite. I'm not doing this for free." Aunt Li pulled Cheng Yeran and said, "It used to be five cents per person, but now it's ten cents for two people."

"What do you mean by ten coins?" Shen Yuntang frowned and looked at the porridge in the basket. The porridge was very watery, and only a dozen grains of rice could be seen at the bottom of the bowl. The rest was all water. There were also two very small plates of pickled vegetables. "Ten coins for this? Why don't you go and rob? With ten coins, I can buy two meat buns and a bowl of noodles in town."

"I've already done it. You can't back out even if you want to." Aunt Li knew that now that Cheng Yeran had married, she wouldn't be needed to cook for him anymore, so the good thing of having five cents for a meal would be gone. She took advantage of this morning to cheat them out of one last sum.

"I didn't ask you to deliver it, are you trying to force me to buy it?" Shen Yuntang returned the basket to Aunt Li, "We can't afford such expensive porridge, you can take it back."

"It's all done. You can't refuse it even if you want it." Aunt Li stretched out her hand and said firmly, "Give me the money."

"It's obvious that this is your family's leftovers. It's not made especially for us." Shen Yuntang was mad at her, but his fighting ability was too weak in an argument, so he lost most of his momentum.

"Aunt, I can give you ten cents." Cheng Yeran smiled and pulled Shen Yuntang behind him, and stretched out his hand to Aunt Li: "But before that, you have to pay one tael of silver for the venue fee and three taels of silver for the meeting fee, and I will give you ten cents in change."

"What nonsense are you talking about? You ask me for four taels of silver right away?" Aunt Li widened her eyes. She didn't understand what he meant at all. She only understood that he was asking her for money.

"The venue fee means that you have to stand in my yard, and I have to pay you two taels of silver as a venue fee. The meeting fee means that you have to give me three taels of silver when you see me." Cheng Yeran still had that businesslike smile on his face, which made it difficult for people to bring themselves to hit him.

Aunt Li was so angry that she jumped up and down: "Are you crazy? I want three taels of silver just by looking at you? Are you made of gold?"

"I won't let anyone see me casually. If they do, I'll ask for three taels of silver. Now that you're here and you've stood on my land, don't try to shirk your debt. If you don't give it to me, go find the village chief now. My cousin, the village chief, will definitely do justice for me." Cheng Yeran had read the script and knew the protagonist's relatives and background very well.

Aunt Li was also afraid that they would drag her to see the village chief. If the villagers knew that she sold the leftovers from her home to Cheng Yeran every day, she would be criticized. "If it weren't for me, you would have starved to death all these years. You really repay kindness with enmity. Don't come to me for help if your family has any problems in the future!"

Shen Yuntang watched Aunt Li leave angrily. He was shocked. Cheng Yeran actually drove Aunt Li away in such a childish way?

"Stupid?" Cheng Yeran couldn't help but want to laugh at his dazed look. An NPC sent by the program team to deliberately embarrass them could make him so angry. How could he survive in the circle in the future? "When arguing with others, don't follow the other person's line of thought. Instead of proving yourself, it's better to blame others."

Shen Yuntang came back to his senses and looked at the way Cheng Yeran smiled at him. This smile was completely different from the one he smiled at Aunt Li just now, and it was not that scary.

"But if we chase her away, what will we eat?" Cheng Yeran glanced in the direction of the kitchen: "I just checked, there is not a grain of rice in the kitchen."

Shen Yuntang thought that even if there was food, it would probably be moldy. "Why don't we go up the mountain and dig some wild vegetables and bamboo shoots to survive for a few days."

As the two were talking, they heard someone knocking on the door. Shen Yuntang also heard his mother's voice, so he quickly ran to the door.

His mother stuffed a basket into his hands and said, "I came here secretly, don't tell anyone. There are some food in it, and some gifts for when I return home in three days. Take them, don't let the villagers laugh at you."

My mother left immediately after delivering the things. If she was seen by the villagers, they would gossip about her.

Shen Yuntang looked at his mother's back as she left. He opened his mouth, but didn't even have the chance to say a few words to her. His eyes were sore and he wanted to cry.

"Who is that person? Why are you crying?" Cheng Yeran walked over, casually raised his hand to lean on the door frame and looked at him. His emotions were too full. After filming this variety show, he really wanted to contact him privately for some dramas to shoot. It would be a loss to the world if this child didn't film.

"That's my mother. I wasn't crying, you saw it wrong!" Shen Yuntang wiped his face and ran in quickly.

On the other side, his cousin was embroidering wedding clothes at home. When he was just reborn, he had planned to snatch Xia Xiaowu away. Now that his cousin was married to that lazy man, he was finally relieved.

In fact, in his previous life, he had a private relationship with Xia Xiaowu before his cousin got married.

He had always envied his cousin for marrying a scholar and wanted to snatch his marriage partner away.

He thought he looked no worse than Shen Yuntang. Although his parents passed away when he was very young, he was their only child and was adopted by his uncle.

Whispering Wind

But he did not take his property. He had a lot of money in his hands, which he could take as a dowry when he got married. It would be more cost-effective to marry him than Shen Yuntang. He did not believe that Xia Xiaowu would be unhappy.

In his previous life, when he took the initiative to approach Xia Xiaowu, Xia Xiaowu quickly took the bait.

Xia Xiaowu met him secretly, gave him gifts, and even wrote love poems to him. She also said that she wanted to go home to discuss breaking off the engagement with her parents and marry him.

Xia Xiaowu used such sweet words to deceive him into giving her body, but later Xia Xiaowu said that his parents did not agree, but his parents promised him that as long as he became an official, they would let him divorce Shen Yuntang and marry him.

After he went to the lazy man's house, he still kept in touch with Xia Xiaowu privately. Later, Xia Xiaowu really became an official, and the lazy man died.

Remarriage was a very common thing in that era. Even the emperor could marry a widow, let alone Xia Xiaowu, the county magistrate.

But Xia Xiaowu told him that Shen Yuntang disagreed, that Shen Yuntang had not made any mistakes and that she was pregnant, so he could not divorce her. If he divorced her, Shen Yuntang would sue him to the government and his career would be ruined. Then he gave him some money and cut off contact with him.

The scene he had originally imagined was that he would look down upon his cousin who was crying bitterly after being abandoned, but his cousin actually separated him and Xia Xiaowu.

Later, he felt very happy when he heard the news that Shen Yuntang had died of childbirth complications. Unfortunately, he had remarried by then and was no longer destined to be with Xia Xiaowu.

This life is different. He wants to marry Xia Xiaowu in a grand manner and make his cousin jealous to death.
