Seeing the old ox's face filled with despair, Li Daozhi was secretly delighted. He smiled and scolded, "You old demon, you dare to act recklessly just because you have some cultivation?"
Little did they know that above all living beings lies the Heavenly Court, where sages govern creation and destiny; how could a monster like you possibly have the opportunity to act so recklessly?
Upon hearing this, Lao Niu was furious. He glared at Li Daozhi, his eyes flashing with anger, and rebuked him in a low and furious voice: "You are nothing but a defeated opponent of mine, how dare you speak so rudely!"
Li Daozhi, however, was unwilling to continue entangled with this prisoner. He raised the corners of his mouth slightly, revealing a disdainful smile, and replied in an icy tone: "Hmph! Even in this state, you old monster still dare to act wildly. Now that the Sage is in front of you, why don't you hurry up and pay your respects?"
Upon hearing this, Lao Niu was startled. He immediately looked at the Sage in front of him, his eyes revealing a hint of awe.
He knew that the saint before him was the most powerful being in the world, and must possess boundless supernatural powers and majesty.
He dared not be negligent, so he reluctantly stepped forward and respectfully bowed, saying, "I have met the Sage. May the Sage live a long and prosperous life."
The sage nodded slightly and said softly, "Fellow Daoist, there's no need for such formalities."
Old Niu raised his head, his gaze fixed firmly on the Sage. He knew he was in dire straits, but still held onto a glimmer of hope. So he spoke again, asking, "May I ask what your orders are for bringing me here, Sage?"
The sage, however, did not answer, but instead asked, "Fellow Daoist, you are not from our realm, are you?"
Old Niu was not too surprised when he heard this, after all, the other party was a saint of this world, so it was not surprising that he could detect him as an outsider.
He responded frankly, "The sage is indeed wise!"
Now that his identity had been discovered, he no longer hid it and readily admitted his origins.
"Since you come from another realm, you should simply abide by the rules after arriving in our world. We saints will not deliberately make things difficult for you."
"However, why do you disrupt the order of heaven and earth, and bring disaster to all living beings? You even wreaked havoc in the Heavenly Court, committing such a grave crime that I have no choice but to investigate this matter." Finally, the Sage spoke, questioning the old ox.
The old ox felt a chill run down his spine, but still forced himself to answer, "I wonder what the sage intends to do with me?"
The sage gazed at the old ox and suddenly smiled slightly: "It must have been quite difficult for you to cultivate to this level. Although you have committed a crime, it is not enough to make your soul disappear."
Therefore, as long as you are willing to take refuge in me, obey my commands, and accumulate countless merits in the human world, I can forgive your sins, and you may even have the opportunity to attain the Primordial Dao Fruit in the future.β
Old Niu immediately understood the sage's thoughts. It turned out that this person, seeing that he was about to attain the Hunyuan realm, wanted to subdue him and make him his own. He couldn't help but chuckle to himself.
Upon hearing this, Emperor Li Daozhi frowned slightly, clearly unwilling to let Old Niu off so easily. However, since the Sage had already made the decision, and he was the Emperor of this realm, he could not object.
Furthermore, since he is now under the protection of a saint, he has no room for opposition.
Old Niu, however, gently shook his head and replied, "Is the sage's statement true? Or is he joking?"
The sage frowned slightly: "Hmm? What's going on? I am a sage, how could I joke with you like that?"
Old Niu chuckled immediately: "Well, since that's the case, I appreciate the Sage's kindness. It's just a pity that even if I wanted to convert to the Sage's service, I'm afraid the Sage wouldn't have the courage to accept me."
Old Niu's words immediately startled Emperor Li Daozhi, who was standing nearby!
What's going on? How dare this old demon speak to a saint like that?
You must understand, a sage is the most powerful being under the Heavenly Dao!
Even a Heavenly Emperor like him must act in accordance with the decrees of the Sage and dare not go against the Sage's wishes.
Just then, Daoist Lingxu walked in from outside the hall and shouted, "How dare you! You old demon, you truly deserve to die! How dare you utter such nonsense in front of a sage!"
Li Daozhi, standing to the side, nodded slightly, feeling that this old demon was simply courting death.
However, the old ox was not afraid at all. Instead, he stared wide-eyed at Lingxu Daoist and shouted back, "Why wouldn't I dare to speak? So what if you are blessed by the Heavenly Dao? Are you not allowed to speak the truth?"
Old Niu's words were full of provocation and disdain, which surprised everyone.
It is truly rare to have the courage to challenge the authority of sages and the Way of Heaven.
Meanwhile, Lingxu Daoist glared angrily, seemingly wanting to teach this arrogant old demon a lesson immediately.
However, the sage maintained a calm expression and was not angered by the old ox's words.
He gazed silently at the old ox, as if deep in thought.
At this moment, the entire hall was filled with a tense atmosphere.
No one knew what would happen next, and they could only wait quietly for the sage's response.
After a short while, the sage finally spoke, asking with considerable curiosity, "Why do you speak like this, you ox? If you are willing to submit to me, why wouldn't I dare to accept you as my disciple? Are you perhaps looking down on me?"
Old Niu bowed deeply and said, "The Sage is of boundless primordial nature, how could I dare to underestimate him? But alas, I have my own master above me, so I am not destined to serve the Sage."
Upon hearing this, the sage realized that the old demon before him actually had a master.
Of course, he was a saint, claiming to know everything, but how could he possibly know Hu Le's level of cultivation?
"Oh? I didn't expect you to be taken? Hehe..."
The sage smiled gently and continued, "May I ask how your master is addressed, and where you come from?"
Old Niu replied with a smile, "Since the sage is so curious, would you dare to come with me to meet my master?"
Upon hearing what the old ox said, a hint of surprise and doubt flashed in the eyes of the Sage, but he quickly regained his composure.
He smiled slightly, his tone carrying a hint of confidence, and said, "Why wouldn't I dare? Since your master is so mysterious, I'd like to see for myself... Lead the way!"
βIn that case, please, Your Majesty, remove the restraints from my body so that I may guide you,β the old ox said respectfully, bowing slightly to the Sage.
The sage smiled slightly, not worried that the old ox could escape his grasp. So he raised his hand and pointed at the old ox from a distance. Instantly, a flash of light appeared, and the ox's restraints were released.
"Thank you, Sage!" Old Niu was overjoyed to find that his magical power and primordial spirit had been restored. He quickly bowed again to express his gratitude.
Then he turned around and walked out of the hall, saying as he went, "Please follow me."
The sage first had Li Daozhi and Lingxu Daoist wait there before slowly getting up from the cloud bed and leisurely following the old ox toward the door.
The two walked out of the sage's dojo one after the other and arrived in a vast and boundless void.
With a gentle wave of his hand, the old ox summoned a cloud that appeared beneath his feet and flew towards the human world.
Upon seeing this, the sage smiled slightly, summoned a cloud of auspiciousness, and stood steadily on it, following the old ox's pace at a leisurely pace.
