Chapter 294 Interrogation
"How strange! Do I need to report to you where I go?" Chang Hao was furious at his father's search everywhere. He realized that he had grown up.
Di Jun touched the tip of his nose. Of course, he didn't need to report to him, but he was just being careful to prevent Yuanshi Tianzun from causing trouble.
"Then where did you go last night? It's not good to stay out all night." Di Jun was getting a little anxious. Yuan Shi was up to no good. Could his silly son be a match for him? Could he really have gone to meet with Yuan Shi Tianzun last night?
Di Jun judged others by his own standards; he used to enjoy doing this, so Yuan Shi would definitely try every means to seduce his son.
"They've gone to Zixiao Palace, alright? Stop bothering me." Chang Hao shook his head, his mind buzzing, all he could hear was Di Jun's voice.
Di Jun thought Chang Hao was joking, "Just tell me, we're like family, you don't need to keep things to yourself with me overnight, but you don't need to hide anything from me."
"Are you going to do your job or not? If not, get out." Chang Hao slammed his hand on the table. Did he have no sense of propriety at all? He was already quite annoyed.
Oh, he forgot, his father used to be the Demon Emperor, so he didn't need to be subservient to anyone.
When Chang Hao got angry, Di Jun immediately sat down obediently at the imperial desk specially set up for him, and dealt with the important matters that the Great Emperor of the North Pole, Ziwei, needed to handle face to face with Chang Hao. It was quite novel to handle matters with his son.
"Your Majesty, the memorial from the Gouchen Palace."
"Leave it there, it'll be ready soon." Chang Hao casually pointed to a corner.
Di Jun's eyes lit up. "Leave it here, let me do it. Don't tire yourself out, I'll feel bad for you." Expecting Di Jun to behave himself was simply unrealistic.
"Come, come, come. Put them here in front of me." Emperor Jun pointed to the rare empty space in front of his desk.
The star officials of Gouchen Palace turned a deaf ear; these were confidential matters, and it wouldn't be appropriate to give them to the Ziwei Emperor.
"You should worry about yourself first." Chang Hao glanced at the pile of memorials on Di Jun's desk. If they weren't dealt with today, there would only be more tomorrow, an endless cycle, and in the end, he would be the one to handle them urgently again.
"Your desk is a bit messy, let me tidy it up for you." Di Jun obviously hadn't realized the seriousness of the problem. In his opinion, there were only a few hundred books on the desk, and he could clean them up in a few days.
Di Jun quickly found something else to do to continue making his presence felt in Taiwei Palace.
The little star official looked on helplessly as the mighty emperor took his job, his pleading eyes turning to his benevolent emperor. How did this suddenly appearing Ziwei Emperor become one of the Four Emperors? He never did any real work and just spent his time in Taiwei Palace.
The little star officer gritted his teeth inwardly, wondering if this lackey's servile manner had gotten him promoted through flattery.
"Forget it, it'll only make things more complicated." Chang Hao took a deep breath. His father was at a crucial moment in clearing out the many demons, so patience was the best course of action.
It's better for Di Jun to stay in Taiwei Palace and cause trouble than for him to wander around outside and get involved with the demon race, which would be much worse.
Di Jun awkwardly stopped. He had never done this before. If it weren't for his son, he would never have done this job in his life.
The little star official, trembling under Emperor Jun's mournful and oppressive aura, stepped forward and quickly restored the table he had messed up to its original state. "Great Emperor, please go back to your Ziwei Palace! Stop causing trouble! Anyone who angers His Majesty deserves to die!"
Under the mournful gaze of the little star official, Di Jun reached out his hand to the memorial again, "I'll help you pick out the important things first, so it'll be faster."
Di Jun seemed very experienced. Chang Hao helplessly put down his pen. What could be unimportant that could be brought to his desk? He didn't keep idle people around. If someone could report even the most trivial matters to him, that person could just get lost.
Di Jun looked left and right, and finally, under his son's glare, quietly slipped out through the door, his back drooping.
Chang Hao tugged at his earlobe. After a noisy morning, he could finally have some peace and quiet.
Not only Chang Hao, but the four star officials standing in attendance also felt relieved. This Ziwei Emperor was capable enough to make His Majesty tolerate his incessant chatter, so they naturally had to tolerate it even more.
A moment later, Di Jun gently pushed the door open and came in, holding the Love-Love Heavenly Robe that he had snatched from Xi He and Chang Xi.
"Come here, Xiao Shi, your mother and aunt have been busy all morning, it looks pretty good, you should try it."
With a 'smack,' Chang Hao put down his pen and said with a forced smile, 'Didn't you want to know where I went last night?' If Di Jun keeps causing trouble, we won't be able to finish today's tasks.
The star officials lowered their heads and looked on meekly. Ah, His Majesty has finally lost his temper. They had said His Majesty wouldn't be able to hold out for long.
“I do,” Di Jun blinked, “Xiao Shi, you’re finally going to tell me, right?”
Di Jun wanted to know if he had gone off to fool around with Yuan Shi, so he secretly glanced at Xiao Shi's brow. It was condensed but not dispersed, but that didn't mean he hadn't done something else.
“Alright, come with me…” Chang Hao beckoned with his index finger. This was his father, whom he could neither hit nor scold, but there were others who could hit and scold him.
By confining Di Jun in Zixiao Palace for a few days, he can free up his time to sort out the demon race before releasing Di Jun.
Di Jun immediately followed, still unaware of the seriousness of the situation. "Xiao Shi, let me tell you, good children shouldn't run around with others, especially in the bedroom. You can't just go in there casually, even if someone invites you in, you have to refuse, understand?"
Di Jun was extremely worried. Yuanshi Tianzun was a saint, and if he wanted to do something, his son would be no match for him.
Chang Hao smiled without saying a word, raised his hand and placed it on Di Jun's shoulder, instantly bringing Di Jun into the Zixiao Palace.
"Alright, we've arrived..." Chang Hao pushed open the door to the main hall of Zixiao Palace.
Di Jun kept rambling on and on, while Xiao Shi teleported him to the place. When they arrived, he looked up and suddenly choked up, "What are we doing here?" This familiar place was not the place where he had heard the Dao before.
"You wanted to know where I went last night, so here I am." Chang Hao gave Di Jun a push, glancing at him as if Di Jun couldn't move his legs.
Chang Hao kindly helped Di Jun cross the threshold of Zixiao Palace. Now that he's here, how could he not visit and relive his past life of listening to the Dao at Zixiao Palace? That would be a good idea.
"Stop messing around, Ya Ya, this is no joke." Di Jun grabbed Chang Hao and turned to leave.
"Who's messing around with you? Weren't you worried and wanted to check where I went last night?" Chang Hao gestured for Di Jun to follow him. "After you've checked, stop messing around, okay?"
“I’m not making a fuss,” Di Jun immediately denied. “You’re still young and easily deceived, so it’s normal for me to be worried.”
"You don't trust me?" Hongjun's figure appeared on the cloud throne.
Di Jun's clothes were soaked with sweat. "Kid, this is really bad."
“That’s right,” Chang Hao said casually as he walked up to the cloud throne and took Hongjun’s arm. “My father found out I wasn’t in Taiwei Palace and kept asking me all sorts of questions. It was so annoying. He told me I came to Zixiao Palace, but he didn’t believe me. Don’t I have the freedom to rest wherever I want?”
Chang Hao glared at Di Jun. Did Di Jun think he would lie to him?
"Chang Hao lives in Zixiao Palace, do you have a problem with that?" Hongjun's indifferent gaze fell on Dijun, looking him up and down. Hmph, trying to compete with him, does he have the guts of the Heavenly Dao?
