Chapter 55 Hongyun Tastes Hundreds of Herbs

Chapter 55 Hongyun Tastes Hundreds of Herbs

Tongtian was completely baffled. Where had the person who was so eager to do Zhen Yuanzi a favor gone? Did he think that getting revenge for Chang Hao was more important than a favor? Was it really necessary to value friends over brothers so much?

Zhen Yuanzi protected Hongyun behind him as if facing a formidable enemy, with the Earth Book in his hand ready at any moment. Chang Hao in front of him was unknown, but his cultivation level was unfathomable to Zhen Yuanzi. When did another powerful figure emerge in the prehistoric world?

This is a tough battle, and Zhen Yuanzi isn't very confident either.

"You choose." Chang Hao chose to leave the decision to Hongyun. He was not a bloodthirsty person and had his own bottom line. He could not let Hongyun take his life for the slightest offense.

"I'll sign, I'll sign right now." Hongyun smiled broadly, showing no sign of reluctance, but rather an eagerness that made her impatient.

For a moment, Chang Hao had the illusion that he had shot himself in the foot.

Yuanshi planned to stay at Zixu Palace for a while. When Tongtian saw this, he also decided not to leave. He wanted to watch Chang Hao deal with Hongyun.

Tongtian, who loved watching the drama unfold, summoned Laozi as well.

“Zhen Yuanzi, don’t worry about me. Let’s go back to Wuzhuang Temple.” Hongyun was unaware of what awaited him ahead and said cheerfully and optimistically, “It’s only five hundred years. After five hundred years, I will definitely come back to see you safe and sound.”

Zhen Yuanzi was filled with unease and hesitation, yet had no reason to stay.

Chang Hao stood up, intending to go down and make some arrangements. "Wait a moment, I'll be right back."

"Go ahead and do your work. We're old acquaintances. I'll just treat this place as my own." Tongtian said calmly. "Little Yaochi, the tea you brought last time was quite delicious. Bring me another cup."

Chang Hao gave Duobao a wink, signaling Duobao to follow.

Duobao understood and tried to keep a low profile. He instructed Si Rong to serve each of the Three Pure Ones a cup of tea, then backed out of the main hall and quietly followed Chang Hao. Yun Song, being very perceptive, or rather, shameless, also followed.

Chang Hao plans to collect plants from the primordial wilderness for therapeutic testing, and the mice will be Hong Yun.

"Duobao, you've been in Lishan for many years. Are you familiar with the personalities of everyone there?" Chang Hao tried to find out. He didn't know if Duobao had any management skills, but he didn't have time to look for someone else right now. Duobao looked smart, so he could only make do with him.

"That's natural. The fact that Lishan is so harmonious and has never seen any fighting or casualties is all thanks to my constant mediation." Duobao took credit without hesitation.

"Alright," Chang Hao nodded in satisfaction, then imparted some management tips to Duobao, such as how to know people and assign them appropriately, how to put the right people in the right positions, how to give full play to everyone's strengths, how to make macro-control, how to make appointments remotely, how to have a clear understanding of everything, and how to control the development of things effectively...

Duobao listened intently, as did Yunsong, both knowing they had made the right decision to come.

"Do you understand?" Chang Hao asked, still wanting to continue.

"Although I understand, Duobao has no experience yet and still needs to explore," Duobao said honestly. He already understood that the mountain lord was a pragmatic person who liked people who got things done. He put away his boastful manner and showed his usual composure.

"It's alright, just give him more experience. I'm leaving him in your care." Chang Hao patted Duobao on the shoulder. "Yun Song, right?"

"Yes, I am the transformed form of the cloud pine transplanted by the mountain lord. I thank the mountain lord for his kindness in creating me." The cloud pine quickly revealed its identity to Chang Hao and then further expressed that since they had been indebted to each other, it would do its best to help him.

"Since you are fortunate enough to be listening in, you should assist Duobao well, learn from each other's strengths and make up for each other's weaknesses, and perhaps you can achieve mutual success." Chang Hao handed the matter over to the two of them, as he still had to deal with those powerful figures.

Duobao and Yunsong exchanged a glance and replied in unison, "Thank you for your trust, Mountain Lord." They couldn't contain their joy.

Duo Bao was thinking about what Chang Hao had arranged. First, he arranged for the spirits that had taken human form in Lishan to collect the plants. Even so, he still had to coordinate with various places to ensure that the medicinal properties of each plant were preserved to the maximum extent and that they were delivered to the person who was to draw them in an orderly manner. As Duo Bao's assistant, Yun Song wished he had three heads and six arms...

Si Rong has skillful hands and carefully engraves the appearance of exotic flowers and plants on the jade slip. Shu Ying has a strong spirit and engraves everything Hong Yun described. Jing Zhu is meticulous and is responsible for checking whether there are any omissions in Shu Ying's engraving.

On his way back to Wuzhuang Temple, Zhen Yuanzi pondered the matter. Finally, he knocked down the ginseng fruit and headed towards Lishan.

“Three fellow Daoists, Zhen Yuanzi is keeping his promise and is hereby presenting the ginseng fruit.” Facing the surprised gazes of the crowd, Zhen Yuanzi remained calm and composed, suppressing the heat on his face. He knew his excuse was lame, but what could he do when he couldn’t rest easy?

"Guests are always welcome. Fellow Daoist Zhen Yuanzi, please have a seat." Chang Hao remained noncommittal. Given the thought processes of cultivators from the prehistoric era, his handling of Hong Yun's offense was already lenient.

Zhen Yuanzi had no idea what tricks they were playing. Even his fellow Daoist Laozi, who rarely ventured into the prehistoric world, had come. He could only wait and see. With him around, the Lord of Lishan Mountain wouldn't dare to humiliate Hongyun too much.

"Continue," Chang Hao glanced at Shu Ying, picked up the teacup on the table, and took a sip.

Shuying understood, and holding the jade slip, she carefully and meticulously inscribed it with her divine sense. This was her first time working in front of the mountain lord, and whether she could stay or not depended on the performance of the sisters.

Hongyun's expression twisted as she took the red fruit that Jingzhu handed her, closed her eyes, and popped it into her mouth to chew. After a short while, a faint blush appeared on her face.

"What does it taste like? What does it feel like inside your body?" Shuying asked without changing her expression.

Zhen Yuanzi was dumbfounded. What was going on?

"My mouth is burning, and my soul feels like it's being stabbed," Hongyun said, looking at Chang Hao with pleading eyes. "Fellow Daoist Chang Hao, could you spare me a cup of tea?"

Chang Hao remained noncommittal, then tapped the cup on the table. "Jingzhu, give it to him."

Jingzhu handed the icy water to Hongyun without changing his expression. Hongyun took it, his face bitter, and drank it down with a frown. Unexpectedly, the coolness took away the burning sensation on his lips and tongue. He had misunderstood Fellow Daoist Changhao.

"What kind of pain is this, a stinging sensation in your soul? Are there any other symptoms? Please tell me in detail, Fellow Daoist Hongyun." Laozi doesn't rely on others. It's rare for a Great Luo Golden Immortal to be caught and forced to taste hundreds of herbs, and he doesn't talk nonsense. Instead, he speaks honestly and straightforwardly, which is beneficial to his Golden Core cultivation.

Hongyun carefully examined herself and said, "At first, my meridians felt tingling, but now they feel numb and slightly weak."

"Will it damage the meridians? Can it suppress the pain in the soul?" Chang Hao knew that there were no useless rare flowers and herbs, only people who didn't know how to use them, so he asked extremely detailed questions.

Hongyun explained everything. In the end, Laozi simply stopped asking questions himself and buried himself in taking notes. Changhao was a thoughtful person, and he asked some questions that Laozi hadn't even thought of. Since that was the case, Laozi let Fellow Daoist Changhao ask the questions, and he could just sit back and enjoy the fruits of his labor.

"Very good. Go aside and expel the medicinal effects from your body, meditate to recover, and then try the next one." Chang Hao knew that the interaction of the drugs could cause mutations, and naturally didn't want to create unnecessary complications. Trying to mix different drugs was a matter for later...

"Yaochi," Chang Hao, who had been talking all day, was a little tired. He looked around and pulled Yaochi, who was watching from the side, over. "Did you remember the question I asked?"

“I’ve got it,” Yaochi said, still quite naive. She was just talking; what could she possibly say? “Senior brother, you go and rest. I’ll ask.”

Chang Hao felt no guilt about using child labor. He was joking; Yaochi, who was thousands of years old, was no longer a little brat but an old brat in Chang Hao's eyes.
