“I can swear an oath,” Taiyi said urgently, “If Chang Hao can cross Tairun Pond unharmed, I, Taiyi, hereby swear that I will let you go and never make things difficult for you again. If I break this oath, may I be struck down by heaven and earth.”

Think about where the ten suns came from. They must have belonged to Di Jun or Tai Yi. That makes sense. Those ten suns certainly didn't have a good ending.
