Chapter 476 Turning the Tables 1

Chapter 476 Turning the Tables 1

"I only brought them to soak in the Eight Treasures Merit Pool because you've treated me quite well. We also plan to stay at Mount Ling. We'll stay wherever we choose later." Yun Zhongzi said without any politeness. He would only choose the Great Thunderclap Temple's Mahavira Hall later; he wouldn't be interested in any other place.

"Since you've spoken, young friend, how could I refuse?" Zhunti was overjoyed. Living on Mount Ling was wonderful; from now on, they would be one of their own.

Jin Ling and Guang Chengzi exchanged a glance. They were truly surprised that their junior brother Yun Zhongzi wasn't just boasting. Even in this state, the Sage Zhunti hadn't managed to drive them away...

Zhunti's frustration instantly dissipated. He had never seen so many promising talents on Mount Ling; this must be a sign of great prosperity for the West.

He actually stayed right there by the Eight Treasures Merit Pool and wouldn't leave...

"Young friends, this way please. The Great Thunderclap Temple is just ahead." Zhunti smiled broadly and introduced Mount Ling in detail, even mentioning the advantages of the immortal mountains next to Mount Ling. He wished that these promising young talents could settle down here, or even better, switch allegiances.

The Great Thunder Temple is majestic and solemn, resplendent in gold and green, and has a completely different style from the Kunlun Mountain temples. It was truly refreshing to see it for the first time.

However, the group found it hard to accept the thought that they might have to live on Lingshan Mountain for a long time. Their faces showed sorrow, and they still missed the beauty of the East and the grandeur of Kunlun Mountain.

In Zhunti's eyes, this directly manifested as their anxiety and uncertainty about the future.

Yun Zhongzi, familiar with the place, led his fellow disciples into the main hall and warmly greeted them, "How about it, would you like to stay?"

Cihang covered his eyes, "Junior Brother Yunzhongzi, when a guest is a guest, one should follow the host's lead." He was really too embarrassed.

"It's alright, it's alright. The Great Buddha Hall is a place for meditation, but you can stay in any of the nearby halls." Zhunti now finds Yun Zhongzi very pleasing to the eye. The humiliation he suffered before is nothing compared to this. Being able to lead him to the West makes all the humiliation he suffered before worthwhile.

"Thank you, Sage Zhunti." Yun Zhongzi knew that Sage Zhunti was a very good person and would never refuse him. "Senior brothers and sisters, why are you still standing there? Just stay at Sage Zhunti's place and bring some life to them."

The vast Ling Mountain was nearly deserted, with only a handful of animals around. Even Yun Zhongzi felt ashamed for the two saints.

Guang Chengzi and the others stared wide-eyed. Was it too frivolous to let them move into the most important Great Thunderclap Temple on Mount Ling so easily? For a moment, the Golden Immortals dared not move.

Could this be a trap? The question was clearly written in the eyes of all the Golden Immortals.

Zhunti quickly advised, "Young friends, your arrival at Mount Ling means you have a connection with it. Mount Ling belongs to the West, not to the private domain of the two sages."

So rest assured, if you become Westerners, Mount Ling will also belong to you.

"Did you hear that clearly? If Mount Ling didn't belong to the two saints, Zhunti and Jieyin, it would have been mine, Yun Zhongzi's, long ago," Yun Zhongzi said nonchalantly.

“That’s right,” Zhunti agreed through gritted teeth, “Unfortunately, Mount Ling belongs to the West, so we can only reluctantly refuse young friend Yun Zhongzi.”

Zhunti cursed Hongyun for being stupid. He and his senior brother were just being unreasonable because they didn't want to give it to him. Mount Ling had always been their territory, which infuriated him.

"What are you waiting for? If you don't choose now, when there are more disciples in Lingshan in the future, if you can't find a place that suits your taste in Lingshan, you will have to look elsewhere. Have you thought this through? Lingshan is the number one mountain in the West, and no other place can compare to it."

In some mysterious way, Yun Zhongzi felt that Zhunti Jieyin would never refuse him anything, so he dared to ask for anything.

He actually asked for Mount Ling in front of Zhunti and Jieyin, wanting it as a place for him and Zhen Yuanzi to settle down in the West. Zhunti and Jieyin used the above reason to fool him.

“Thank you, Sage Zhunti. We won’t stand on ceremony then,” Gui Ling said, his eyes darting around. “Sage Zhunti, I would like to stay in the Eight Treasures Merit Pool.”

Zhunti's smile froze.

"Is it alright, Saint Zhunti?" The tortoise spirit, still a minor, transformed into a Daoist body, was quite innocent and carefree. He tilted his head slightly and stared at Zhunti in confusion, wondering why this saint wasn't speaking.

“Senior Sister Guiling, of course you can,” Yun Zhongzi answered first. “Saint Zhunti, my junior sister wants to stay at the Eight Treasures Merit Pool, of course you will agree, right?”

"Of course." Zhunti's smile was more like a grimace. His and his senior brother's spiritual treasures had been confiscated by the Heavenly Emperor. The Eight Treasures Merit Pool was the only high-grade innate spiritual treasure they had left, and it had been taken over by a crystal turtle.

It's alright, it's alright, Zhunti comforted himself, thinking about the origins of Guiling. Once Guiling came of age, his combat power would definitely be no less than that of the veteran Quasi-Saints of the Primordial World.

"On my way here, I saw a mountain covered with purple bamboo. I am a quiet person who prefers peace and quiet. I wonder if there are any fellow Daoists who have established a temple on that mountain?" Cihang has always preferred elegance and truly dislikes the Mahavira Hall.

"Saint Zhunti, you wouldn't be so stingy as to not even part with a small, broken mountain, would you?" Yun Zhongzi came with a mission to cause trouble. His master had told him not to hold back, so he naturally said whatever came to mind.

"He naturally had to give it up." Zhunti's heart was bleeding. One mountain after another! He couldn't hold onto the twelve golden immortals without giving up the mountains, so he did!

There's hope!!!

“Even the Sage Zhunti and the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra have their favorite mountains…” Now everyone got excited. Not every one of the Twelve Golden Immortals had a mountain.

With tears in his eyes, Zhunti promised to build several mountains that were considered quite good in the West, constantly comforting himself that he was recruiting promising young people to join the Western religion.

Jin Ling stared at the Western doctrines engraved on the main hall of the temple. "Sage, may I have the pleasure of reading about your esteemed religion?"

"Young friend, feel free to do as you please. Since it's already been engraved, why shouldn't it be done?" It's a good thing they want to learn; if they don't, then Zhunti will have a headache.

"Thank you, Sage." With the Sage's permission, Jin Ling could watch with peace of mind.

Upon inspection, Jin Ling immediately noticed the problem: the Western religion had nothing of its own; its doctrines, scriptures, and core ideas were easily recognizable as Taoist, which explained why not many people were convinced.

Jin Ling was overjoyed. Heaven had indeed not abandoned the Jie Sect. No wonder his eldest and second senior uncles had sent them to the West, their words full of confidence that they could use the West as a shell to continue the Jie Sect's fortunes.

Zhunti was unaware that the biggest flaw of their Western religion had been exposed, and he was still reveling in it.

“Let me take a look too.” Cihang leaned over and looked at the shadows of the Daoist sect all over the wall. “Why don’t I just make up a few articles myself?” It wouldn’t be difficult at all to repackage the doctrines he had learned.

Puxian also wanted to create one; he felt he could do it too. There were quite a few of the Twelve Golden Immortals who shared the same idea as Puxian.

Under his master's constant guidance, he naturally mastered doctrines and scriptures with ease. Although he was weak in combat, he could confidently discuss philosophy with others.
