Chapter 120: The Routine
A cluster of true solar fire emanated from his body, igniting the towering Fusang tree. The problem was that Chang Hao couldn't control it immediately, fearing that Di Jun would become suspicious.
Di Jun and Xi He exchanged a glance and hurriedly began to extinguish the true solar fire, but their speed in extinguishing it was nowhere near as fast as that of a cat, as the true solar fire on this little golden crow was extremely pure.
Di Jun was half delighted and half annoyed as he put out the fire. Xi He planned to capture Chang Hao, but Chang Hao, fearing being caught and inspected, moved nimbly and cleverly, starting fires everywhere, thus waking up the other little golden crows.
"Xiao Shi, over here, over here, I want to see the fireworks."
The 'fireworks' were extinguished by Di Jun with one hand.
Xiao Jiu jumped up and down, "Father, I haven't seen enough yet, don't destroy it!"
“Exactly, exactly,” Xiao Qi wished he were the one who started the fire. “Xiao Shi, tell me how to start the fire. I want to do it myself.”
With a composed expression, Xiao Yi mimicked an adult, placing one hand behind his back and pinching his younger brother's fiery beak with the other. "Third brother, don't cause trouble. Can't you see how busy Father and Mother are?"
"How fun!" A spark ignited beside Xiao Si, and Xiao Si pounced on it. Watching its own fur burst into flames, it squinted its eyes contentedly and flapped its wings, flying around wildly.
Xiao Si set an example: apart from the steady Xiao Yi, the remaining eight little golden crows took turns lighting fires on their downy feathers and playing around, causing far more trouble than Chang Hao.
Chang Hao was speechless. "Won't the Sun Star catch fire?! If it burns down the vegetation in the lower realm, that would be a disaster!"
Chang Hao hadn't forgotten that there was a particularly fragile race in the prehistoric world called the 'human race,' who could literally die from the heat.
Di Jun's temples throbbed with veins. With a heavy heart, he used the Hetu Luoshu to contain his nine sons and then extinguished the rising solar fires. The chaos quickly subsided.
Taking advantage of Di Jun's distraction, Chang Hao retreated into the depths of his consciousness and released Xiao Shi. He then ran away in a flash along the medium, leaving the innocent-looking Xiao Shi to endure Di Jun's face, which was so dark it could drip ink.
Xiao Shiyi shrugged. Could he say he knew nothing?
Di Jun stared at Xiao Shi with a headache, "Ya Ya, take back the True Fire of the Sun."
Little Eleven looked innocent. "Who is Ya Ya? It's too girly!" Little Ten refused to acknowledge this childish name. "Father calls me Ya Ya whenever he's angry. It's so annoying!"
His wise and powerful father was actually terrible at naming things.
"Listen to my instructions..." Di Jun personally demonstrated, and Xiao Shi understood with his eyes and ears, but unfortunately, he couldn't do it. The problem he was facing now was that his soul and cultivation level were not compatible.
After trying eighty or ninety methods, the flames on his body still burned fiercely. Helpless, Di Jun wrapped Xiao Shi up and tossed him to Taiyi, who had noticed the abnormality of the Sun Star and rushed over to investigate.
“You’ve come at the right time,” Di Jun tossed Xiao Shi to Tai Yi. “You’re in charge. We can’t let Ya Ya keep burning.”
"Big brother, be gentle." Taiyi hurriedly caught the three-headed Xiao Shi, and looked at those familiar eyebrows and eyes, lost in thought for a moment.
Of his eldest brother's ten sons, the tenth son, after the transformation, is the most adorable. Although he has inherited the best features of his elder brother and sister-in-law, he surpasses them all and is much more refined.
If it weren't for Chang Hao, they wouldn't have thought anything was wrong. But because of Chang Hao, after Xiao Shi transformed, those who were lucky enough to see him had faces that turned pale and then red, like a rainbow on their faces. It was quite a sight.
If it weren't for the fact that the other nine nephews, after their transformations, resembled Xiao Shi to some extent, the subordinates would have really wondered if the Demon Emperor's hat had changed color.
"Alright, I'll leave Xiao Shi to you now," Di Jun breathed a sigh of relief. "I still have a lot of official documents to process, so I'll be going now."
Taiyi patted Xiaoshi's head and silently carried him back to his Eastern Palace. Xiaoshi looked so much like Changhao that he felt something was off.
The Eastern Emperor Bell at his waist rang, and Taiyi looked down, something flashing through his mind.
"Uncle, the Eastern Emperor Bell is greeting me." Little Eleven panicked and hurriedly interrupted Taiyi's thoughts, trying to thwart the possible flash of inspiration.
If his uncle continued to ponder this, he would lose his disguise. Is it true that the intuition of a single-celled organism is so powerful? His father only grumbled a few complaints, but never thought of anything else.
“I know the Eastern Emperor Bell likes you. Here, you can play with it.” Taiyi took the Eastern Emperor Bell from his waist and handed it to Xiaoshi.
"Uncle, I've seen Uncle Fuxi and the others store their natal magic treasures in their sea of consciousness or purple palace, so why do you always hang the Eastern Emperor Bell on your waist?" Xiao Shi had been curious for a long time, and this was not the time when his strength was low and he had not completely subdued the Chaos Bell.
"At first, it was because I hadn't completely subdued the Eastern Emperor Bell, so I could only shrink it and hang it on my waist." Taiyi didn't just make up an excuse because Xiao Shi was small; instead, he explained very seriously.
"And now? Now everyone only calls it the Eastern Emperor Bell and not the Chaos Bell. Uncle, you must have already subdued the Eastern Emperor Bell. Why don't you put it into the Purple Mansion?" Xiao Shi pressed.
“Because…” Taiyi stared at Xiaoshi, another face that had grown up appeared in his mind, “Because Uncle has a close friend who has suffered many misfortunes and often encountered danger. If I put the Eastern Emperor Bell into the Purple Mansion, he might die if he cannot summon the Eastern Emperor Bell in times of crisis. Uncle does not want to take this risk.”
Xiao Shi was so surprised that Donghuang Zhong could barely hold on to him. It was all for the sake of the original owner. This friendship was truly touching.
“Uncle, your best friend must be very happy to have such a close friend as you,” Xiao Shi said, deeply moved. “If anything happens to you, he will definitely risk his life to save you.”
"Pfft," Taiyi couldn't help but laugh out loud, "Silly girl, who makes promises for others? The way you're so confident, Uncle is starting to think that Xiao Shi is Uncle's best friend."
What was said in jest was taken seriously by the listener. Xiao Shi realized he had spoken out of turn and his heart skipped a beat. Fortunately, after observing for a moment and realizing that Tai Yi had not suspected anything, he gradually calmed down.
"Uncle, my darling... my dear uncle, I love you the most, even more than I love my father, even more than I love my mother," Xiao Shi's sweet words flowed out like they were free, and he emphasized at the end, "I love you the most."
Taiyi couldn't help but chuckle, "Alright, alright, I know Xiaoshi likes Uncle the most."
"Then is Xiao Shi the one Uncle likes the most... the most, the most?" A glint flashed in Xiao Shi's eyes as he raised his little face and stared straight at Taiyi, as if he would cry if Taiyi denied it.
"If you like me, you like me. Who else would you like?" Taiyi coaxed.
"Then could the uncle who likes Xiao Shi the most give Xiao Shi the gourd hanging on your waist?" Xiao Shi's true intentions were now clear.
