Chapter 211 The Two Saints
...Kunlun Mountains...
Yuanshi felt he had forgotten something, but when he saw Tongtian take out the Golden Spirit and the Tortoise Spirit from his sleeve, he realized that he had left behind the Little Golden Crow and the Yellow Dragon.
Ahead lies the Jingyang Palace, where Laozi resides. Yuanshi couldn't just turn around and leave, lest Jieyin and Zhunti see them and think that the Three Pure Ones had a grudge against them or disliked them, causing trouble out of nowhere.
It has to be said that it is quite useful for Yuanshi to hang out with Changhao. At least, they can think of some roundabout things and avoid offending everyone with their mouths.
Chang Hao was always thorough, and when he sealed the mountain, he would surely bring the Little Golden Crow and the Yellow Dragon to Kunlun. Yuanshi thought of this and stopped worrying about it.
Thinking of Chang Hao, Yuan Shi raised his hand and touched the corner of his lips. His lips curled up uncontrollably, and he looked like he was bathed in a spring breeze, always smiling at everyone he met. It was clear that he was in a very good mood.
Jieyin and Zhunti were flattered. Yuanshi Tianzun was always cold and aloof, strict and unapproachable, keeping people at arm's length. When had they ever seen him treat them with such kindness?
Laozi couldn't bear to look. Looking behind Yuanshi, there was no one there except Tongtian.
No, his main purpose is to have Chang Hao come and stay away from the mountain. If Chang Hao doesn't come, is there any need for the two of them to come back?
"Greetings, Second Uncle and Third Uncle." Donghua, who had just completed his cultivation, was still in a daze. Although he had lost all his memories as the Donghua Emperor, he could always accurately call out the names of people he met, so much so that no one had yet discovered that Donghua actually had no memories.
Yuanshi paused slightly. Donghua had been rebuilt. If he dared to harbor resentment, he would send him down again.
"Greetings, fellow disciples..." Jieyin and Zhunti had a better understanding of the situation. They realized they had made the right decision to come today; there was hope.
"No need..." came the cold solemnity that permeated the Yuanshi Restoration.
"Where is he?" Laozi asked Yuanshi in a low voice. Wasn't he supposed to be pestering Lishan? Why did he come back alone? Logically speaking, this shouldn't be the case.
“Li Shan’s family is large and powerful, so he can’t just leave whenever he wants. He has to make some arrangements. I guess he’s already slowly arriving.” Yuan Shi’s eyes were sparkling, clearly thinking of something wonderful again.
Now I can finally relax. Of all my younger brothers, I trust Chang Hao the most, but I never expected that I would relax so soon.
After Tongtian took his seat, he glanced at Jieyin and Zhunti with a half-smile, "What brings you two fellow Daoists here?"
Jieyin and Zhunti exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with bitterness. Of all the difficulties, they alone faced many.
"Senior brother, we two have come here for the sake of fortune." Jieyin didn't keep them in suspense; no one was a fool.
"Whose fortune is this?" Tongtian couldn't figure out what their fortunes were related to these two.
"Of course, it's for the sake of the fortunes of our four sects," the guide said solemnly and seriously. "If the Demon Court doesn't retreat, how can our great sects ever rise to prominence?"
Laozi raised his eyelids and glanced at his two younger brothers out of the corner of his eye.
Yuanshi seemed to be deep in thought. The fact that the fortunes of the sect were favoring the disciples was a bonus, but the plan to make the demon race withdraw from the prehistoric world... He had already promised Chang Hao, and he couldn't go back on his word.
What if Chang Hao also goes back on his word to him...? Yuanshi simply cannot afford to take that risk.
Tongtian was bored out of his mind. Given Taiyi's open offer of his family fortune, his relationship with Chang Hao must be extraordinary. His scheme would inevitably result in casualties. If he managed to outmaneuver Taiyi, that would be quite a mess.
Chang Hao probably wouldn't even bother to see him in his lifetime. Oh no, oh no, how can he freeload off him now? The thought of Duobao scraping together several layers of money to use as a private treasury on Jin'ao Island sent a pang of pain through his heart.
Lao Tzu nodded to himself. After not seeing his two younger brothers for a while, he noticed that they had greatly improved their self-control.
As for him... Laozi looked at himself and sighed. He was old and too lazy to move. His luck was just so-so, so he didn't have high expectations.
Laozi wouldn't allow him to open many disciples. He could teach a few disciples as well as Yuanshi, but his second brother wouldn't agree to more.
That's too tiring... I'm so tired... Hmm, when are those two leaving...?
Seeing that no one responded, Zhunti had no choice but to save face: "I wonder if my three senior brothers have any advice for me?"
"No." Yuan Shi uttered the two cold words. He wouldn't say anything more, because anything he said now would later become evidence against him. Yuan Shi was very shrewd.
"To gain it is my fortune, to lose it is my fate; everything is up to destiny." Tongtian raised his hand and picked up the cup of tea on the table. "Please."
"You two sages, this way please..." Donghua, who had no concept of sages, directly saw the guests off on behalf of his master and uncles, which made Jieyin and Zhunti feel very embarrassed.
"We are sorry to have made you laugh, senior brothers. You are all so upright and virtuous that we are truly inferior to you. We apologize for our rudeness and ask for your understanding." This was something that Jieyin had not expected.
"My brother and I bid farewell here." Zhunti raised his hand and bowed.
Once they left Kunlun Mountain, Zhunti's smile faded. "Those who walk different paths cannot make plans together."
“Junior brother, don’t get angry. It’s not all bad news,” Jieyin said thoughtfully. “The three senior brothers are not attached to the fortune of their own sects, so they will not hinder the spread of the Western Sect. This is actually very good news.”
Zhunti thought about it for a moment and then felt relieved. "Yes, it was my stubbornness. But now, if the three senior brothers refuse to step forward, what about the demon race?"
"We'll have to go ourselves. Senior Brother miscalculated. I didn't expect that Senior Brother Yuanshi, who is usually the most easily moved, would remain so unmoved, thwarting my plans." Jieyin sighed deeply, feeling that fate was cruel.
"Time waits for no one, let's hurry..." Jieyin and Zhunti walked away hand in hand...
"Now that they're gone, it's time for us to get down to business." Laozi got up from the futon. "Donghua, go and inform your fellow disciples to gather at the dojo. I will open the Water Mirror so you can face the Lich War directly and learn something from it."
"Yes, Master." Donghua had no doubts and followed Laozi's instructions to inform his fellow disciples.
"Yuanshi, you said Chang Hao would arrive slowly, why hasn't he arrived yet?" Laozi asked, puzzled.
“Something might have held us up,” Yuanshi said, already somewhat uneasy. “I’ll go meet them…”
Tongtian hesitated, then asked, "Second Brother, wait a minute. Do you think Chang Hao might have run off to the battlefield?"
Yuanshi's face turned completely black, his dazed mind suddenly cleared, and his back teeth clenched.
Laozi was startled. "Tongtian, you can't say things like that carelessly." Tongtian's words had tricked him.
Just then, they all received a summons from Hongjun, and the three of them looked at each other in bewilderment.
"Perhaps Chang Hao was summoned to Zixiao Palace by his master halfway there," Tongtian guessed.
The panic and unease that Yuanshi had felt earlier had vanished, and hope ignited in his eyes. "It's very possible. Let's hurry up and go."
Yuanshi couldn't wait to see if Chang Hao was really in Zixiao Palace.
