Chapter 24 Encountering Nuwa
“What a magnificent palace!” Tongtian exclaimed in amazement. “The jade towers and magnificent buildings are a sight to behold, with exquisitely crafted beams and pillars. We, the Three Pure Ones, still reside in our cave dwellings. I feel ashamed.”
"Hey, Second Brother, what are you doing..." Tongtian reached out to stop Yuanshi from taking the items, but it was too late.
"I, refined, it." Yuan Shi said succinctly, clearing Lishan of its contents.
Tongtian awkwardly let go, "You should have said so earlier." His eyes darted around, and he shamelessly said, "Second brother, forge one for me too. I'm not picky. This is much more impressive than living in a cave."
"Tongtian," Laozi couldn't stand it anymore and spoke up, "Where's your brain?"
Tongtian closed his eyes; wasn't he just trying to distract Yuanshi with jokes? His elder brother was the one who was hopeless.
"Second Brother, is there anything else we've forgotten? Let's go get it, so it doesn't end up with someone else." Tongtian kept chattering away.
Contrary to his usual behavior, Yuanshi let it go; normally, he would have jumped up and told him to shut up.
"Follow me..." Yuanshi led the two to the valley. The banana tree was still in the same place, its two leaves fully extended, exquisite and charming.
"Is there a way to move it to Kunlun Mountain?" Yuanshi asked Laozi.
"Why go to such trouble?" Lao Tzu took out his treasured Three Lights Divine Water and scattered it on a banana leaf.
In a short while, two banana leaves fell from the stem, and Laozi caught them and looked at them. "Not bad, they can be used to fan my stove."
"Brother, the banana leaf has been taken," Yuanshi reminded him.
"Oh?" Laozi put away the banana leaf. "Then I'll give it to you, elder brother. You don't refine pills, so what use is it to you? I'll give you an even better one later."
There was a hidden meaning in Lao Tzu's words. Yuan Shi was exceptionally intelligent and naturally understood that Lao Tzu was implying something.
But this is different. Chang Hao is irreplaceable. "If you like it, then take it. But if you take Chang Hao's magic weapon, then you must grant him any request in the future." Yuan Shi still hadn't given up on finding Chang Hao. There were no remnant souls here, so what about the Blood Sea?
Among the endless sea of blood, those lingering souls might include Chang Hao. He will go to the sea of blood to retrieve them, and once he does, he will definitely rebuild Chang Hao's Dao body. What could be better than the pure energy of the Three Pure Ones? At that time, he will definitely ask his elder brother to also contribute some of his own essence. How can the rebuilding be any different from the beginning?
"If Chang Hao were still alive, let him come to me personally to make his demands." Laozi held the banana leaf calmly. Seeing that Yuanshi valued Chang Hao very much, it was best not to leave such a distressing object on Yuanshi.
Tongtian, drawing inferences from one instance, excitedly said, "Second Brother, you can leave that palace to me. In the future, I'll give you an even better one."
Yuanshi gripped the cuff of the wide sleeve, as if the pent-up frustration in his chest had found an outlet. "Tongtian, he even dares to rummage through my second brother's body. He's gone too far."
Holding the Three Treasures Jade Ruyi in his hand, he chased after Tongtian and beat him up.
Tongtian covered his head and ran away. Second brother is so biased. Eldest brother also took away the magic weapon. Why can't they be treated equally?
Buzhou Mountain
"Hmm? This person has been blessed with such great merit by heaven. What extraordinary thing has he done?" Nuwa dragged her long snake tail as she approached. After the golden light of merit that had been showered down from the sky disappeared onto the newcomer, she bent down and pinched Chang Hao's chin to examine him closely. "He's quite handsome. It's a pity he died. I'll take him back and raise him."
Unbeknownst to him, the golden light of merit that Chang Hao had consumed in this battle was replenished by the Heavenly Dao and taken back to Nuwa's cave.
Fuxi returned carrying the Fuxi Qin, made of jade, celestial silk, and other materials. Caught off guard, he exclaimed, "Sister, what is this...?"
“I picked this up, isn’t it beautiful?” Nuwa rubbed the material of Chang Hao’s clothes with her fingers, her bright eyes flashing with surprise. “This person is incredibly wealthy. His clothes are made from the divine water of the Three Lights at the time of creation, not the divine water of the Three Lights that was later synthesized from sunlight, moonlight, and starlight.”
“If that’s the case, then this person is no ordinary individual. Sister, once he wakes up, you should let him leave.” Fuxi saw that Chang Hao was covered in injuries and did not want to cause any trouble.
"Brother, what about the elixirs you exchanged with the Three Pure Ones? This person is seriously injured. Without holy medicine to aid in healing, his cultivation level will inevitably drop, and it may even damage his foundation." Nuwa avoided answering and instead asked Fuxi for holy medicine.
"I only have three Golden Pills given to me by Fellow Daoist Laozi, and I need them for emergencies. Are you sure you want to use one to save this person of unknown origin?" Fuxi frowned slightly. Had his sister been bewitched?
“I’m sure,” Nuwa turned to look at Chang Hao on the cloud couch, her heart softening and filled with boundless affection, “I think…”
“No, you don’t want to,” Fuxi said, rubbing his forehead. “Don’t try to keep everything you find.” “Saving people is the priority.”
Fuxi would never spoil Nuwa's fun. Since Nuwa insisted, Fuxi simply pressed down on Chang Hao's chin and placed a golden pill in Chang Hao's mouth.
The golden elixir transformed into liquid and entered Chang Hao's body. A burst of golden light appeared, and after a moment, it gradually disappeared.
"Why hasn't he woken up yet?" Nuwa asked, gesturing with her hand in confusion. "Perhaps he's too badly injured. Let's wait a bit."
“Yes, this can’t be rushed. Now that this fellow Daoist’s injuries have stabilized, let him heal on his own. He will eventually recover.” Fuxi echoed Nuwa. “Sister, look, this is a zither I made today. I named it the Fuxi Zither. I will play a tune for you to calm your mind. Would you like to try it, sister?”
“There will be plenty of opportunities to hear the zither, brother. Why don’t you try using the zither to heal this fellow Daoist? What if it has a miraculous effect?” Nuwa smiled, her eyes radiating charm.
“My sister is right, I’ll give it a try.” After thinking for a while, Fuxi realized that it was not impossible. Sound can hurt people, but who said it can’t save them? He was also eager to give it a try.
Amidst the peaceful and dignified music, Chang Hao's fine eyelashes trembled, and the next second he was on high alert, waking up from his deep sleep.
"Awake? How shall I address you, fellow Daoist?" Nuwa, with her hair flowing like clouds, smiled charmingly as she gazed at the awakened Chang Hao.
"My name is Chang Hao." Chang Hao supported his weak body and carefully observed the cave. Although it was simple, it was full of life.
"I was fortunate to be rescued and saved," Chang Hao said gratefully. "I will always remember this kindness and will repay it. May I ask your Daoist name, fellow Daoist?"
"My name is Nuwa, do you remember me, Fellow Daoist Chang Hao?" Nuwa covered her mouth and chuckled. "Don't forget your words now, I will definitely ask you to repay me handsomely."
Nuwa... Nuwa...
Chang Hao's mind went blank. The radiant and beautiful fellow Daoist in front of him was the famous Nuwa.
"Fellow Daoist Chang Hao, what's wrong?" Nuwa waved her hand.
Chang Hao finally came to his senses, ashamed of his rudeness in front of others, and a faint blush rose on the tips of his ears: "Chang Hao was rude, I hope Fellow Daoist Nuwa will not take offense."
"No wonder, no wonder, Fellow Daoist Chang Hao has a very delicate face..." Nuwa's soft jade hand was about to pinch Chang Hao's cheek.
"Cough..." Fuxi's face was dark and gloomy. He had been standing at the entrance of the cave at some point, as if he were already dead.
"Big brother, you're back." Nuwa didn't take it seriously and calmly stepped forward to take his arm, introducing him to Chang Hao: "Chang Hao, this is my big brother, Fuxi."
Chang Hao breathed a sigh of relief. "Fellow Daoist Fuxi, Chang Hao greets you." He had been struggling with whether to hide or not, and his gaze drifted toward Fuxi.
Fuxi's lips twitched. Where did this little old-fashioned guy come from? With such a restrained air, did he tie up a dragon or a unicorn in his cave?
