Chapter 466 But this time, I don’t mind
When Chu Jin came out of the hall, he glanced outside the hall, but did not see Manluo.
Just now, when he entered the hall, she was holding little Chu Yue and basking in the sun under the corridor. How come she disappeared now?
He asked the Soul Killer who was standing by:
"What about her?"
Soul Killer reports:
"Miss Manluo thought this place was boring, so she took the young master to Qingxi Cottage to watch the fish."
Chu Jin felt warm in his heart. His woman had always been a restless person.
Qingxi Cottage was only a hundred steps away from here, and it was right on the way. After thinking about it, he got up and started walking.
He had just resolved the knot in his heart with Helian Feng, and his heart was full and warm. At this moment, he especially wanted to see his woman and son.
He quickened his pace and soon arrived at Qingxi Cottage.
It was late autumn, but the scenery around the cottage was quite unique.
Beside the stone path of the rockery, several red maple trees are in full bloom. The leaves are blown by the autumn wind and fall on the bluestone slabs, forming an intoxicating crimson.
The stream at the foot of the rockery was still gurgling, with a few withered yellow lotus leaves floating on the water. Occasionally, a red carp swam by, stirring up the cloud shadows reflected in the water.
The flowers on the shore are in full bloom, yellow, white, and purple, clustered in the crevices of the rocks, their petals stretching out in the autumn breeze, and a faint fragrance floating in the air.
Chu Jin's gaze passed through the autumn scenery and fell under the ginkgo tree not far away - Manluo was standing there.
She was dressed in a purple dress, and the hem of her skirt was blown by the wind, forming tiny arcs, making her figure even more graceful.
The sunlight shone on her through the golden ginkgo leaves, casting a soft halo around her.
She lowered her head and teased the chubby baby in her arms, gently touching little Chu Yue's cheek with her fingertips, a faint smile on her lips. It was a gentle look that Chu Jin rarely saw, peaceful and beautiful, as beautiful as a picture.
Chu Jin felt his heart soften, and the tension and heaviness of the past few days seemed to be washed away by this scene, leaving only warmth and emotion.
He walked forward lightly and called softly, "Manluo."
Manluo heard the voice and turned around to see it was him. Her eyes immediately lit up and she smiled, "Why are you here?"
"I came to see you and Yue'er."
Chu Jin walked over to her and his eyes fell on his son's delicate little face. The little guy was staring at him with his big black eyes, babbling bubbles from his mouth.
His fingertips touched the child's warm skin, and his heart softened.
"How is Helian Feng?" Manluo asked.
"Much better." Chu Jin reached out to take his son, bent down and kissed his plump forehead, and looked at Manluo with a smile in his eyes:
"We are the same as before."
A hint of surprise flashed across Manluo's eyes, and then she smiled knowingly:
"That's good." She knew that Chu Jin had always been thinking about his old relationship with Helian Feng. Now that the past grudges were resolved, he must be relieved.
Chu Jin embraced Manluo and Chu Yue together in his arms, feeling the small weight in his arms and the warm body beside him, and whispered:
"It's great to have you here."
The scene suddenly appeared in his mind two years ago when Manluo entered the palace under the name of Hongying, also in this Qingxi cottage. She sat under the flowers and trees, gnawing on roast chicken and drinking wine, teasing him again and again. He couldn't help but laugh.
Manluo rolled her eyes and pinched him:
"What the hell are you laughing at?
Chu Jin lowered his head and kissed her lips stealthily, then smiled and said:
"I was thinking, revisiting the same place, the Qingxi Cottage. Back then, you and I were enemies, and we wanted to kill each other."
When Manluo heard this, she couldn't help but laugh out loud, with a cunning light in her eyes, just like before:
"Isn't it? I still remember that time. I had just finished eating half a roast chicken, and my hands were greasy. I saw you standing under the blossoming tree in a brand new red robe, acting pretentiously. I deliberately soiled your robe to disgust you."
She gestured as she spoke, her eyes and eyebrows curved with a smile:
"Your face was as wrinkled as a bun, and your eyes were full of disgust. You wanted to break my neck, but because of your status, you couldn't get angry, so you had to hold it in. Thinking about it now, you were really funny back then."
Chu Jin was amused by her and chuckled. He lowered his head to look at his ignorant son in his arms, then looked at the smiling woman beside him, and his heart softened.
He pinched her cheek, his tone full of pampering:
"You have always been so unruly."
Manluo raised an eyebrow: "I don't care about any rules. As long as I'm comfortable, that's all. If I worry about so many things, I'm afraid I'll be exhausted."
She said this, but just like she did back then, she slapped Chu Jin's perky buttocks, neither too hard nor too light, and then, with a wicked smile on her face:
"Chu Jin, tell me, is this considered unruly?"
Chu Jin grabbed her rebellious hand, stroking her palm with his fingertips, the smile in his eyes was so thick that it could not be dispelled:
"Never mind. But this time, I don't mind."
