Chapter 75: Your life or death, I will take care of it!

It turned out that Xiyan saw Manluo being locked up in the dungeon last night with her own eyes, and she was still worried.

Although Fu Yunqing gave him medicine, it only provided temporary relief. If he had to stay in the hospital for three days, even if he was not disabled, he would have been half dead.

After much deliberation, she mustered up her courage and went to Liuyunxuan.

Just as he arrived at the door of Liuyunxuan, Han Xiao walked out.

Seeing Xiyan's figure from afar, Han Xiao's body stiffened slightly and he subconsciously wanted to avoid her.

But before he could move, Xiyan had already approached.

Han Xiao's eyes dodged, not daring to look directly into Xi Yan's eyes:

"Xiyan, you... are here to see the prince?"

Xiyan glanced into the hall and asked softly, "Is the prince still awake?"

Han Xiao nodded:

"No! However, he seems to be in a bad mood today. If you want to plead for Manluo, it's best not to. The prince hates those who act on their own initiative. Pleading is useless, and you will be punished as well. Besides, the prince has already shown mercy to Manluo!"

Xiyan frowned slightly and sighed softly:

"What should we do? We can't just watch Manluo suffer. She's still injured!"

After saying that, she bit her lower lip and walked towards the hall resolutely.

Han Xiao looked at Xi Yan's back, opened his mouth, and hesitated to speak. After thinking for a while, he called her:

"Xiyan, now...are you happy?"

Xiyan's body trembled, as if she was fixed in place, and she remained silent.

Seeing this, Han Xiao seemed to muster up great courage:

"Xiyan, I hope you can be happy. If one day you are unhappy, tell me!"

The lantern under the eaves was swayed by the wind, casting tiny shadows between Xiyan's eyebrows.

Silence enveloped the two figures on the bluestone steps, and there was no sound.

"Han Xiao, thank you!"

Xiyan's eyes were slightly sore, and all she could say to him was thank you.

Then she took a deep breath and stepped into the bedroom.

Inside the bedroom, the flickering candlelight illuminates the antique furnishings around it.

Xiao Nanyue stood quietly in front of the window, his posture upright, and a silk robe that made his temperament even more cold and stern.

He put his hands behind his back and stared at the night outside the window.

Hearing the footsteps behind him, Xiao Nanyan did not turn around, but spoke coldly:

"Why, are you here to plead for Manluo?"

Xi Yan knelt down and bowed respectfully:

"Your Highness, although Manluo acts rashly and unruly, she is not a bad person by nature. She has acknowledged her mistake this time. I beg Your Highness to show some leniency and forgive her this time."

Xiao Nanyan slowly turned around, his eyes like lightning, shooting straight at Xiyan:

"I have made my decision. This is what she deserves!"

Xi Yan gritted her teeth, mustered her courage, and continued:

"Your Highness, Manluo has a shoulder injury. If she remains in this state for three days, she will likely become disabled. Please, Your Highness, be lenient with her because of her dedication."

Xiao Nanyan's expression became increasingly stern:

"She brought this upon herself, and has no one else to blame. It's you, knowing full well that she made a mistake, yet you still condone and shield her. As a loyal servant of the palace, don't you know the rules set by the king? It's useless to plead for mercy!"

Xiyan did not give up: "Your Highness, Manluo's poison skills are amazing. Only she can compete with Chu Jin. Such talents are really rare. Please think twice!"

Xiao Nanyan sneered:

"Do you think this palace lacks talent? She provoked Chu Jin, and it will only make things more difficult for her in the future. What's the point of keeping someone who can't accomplish anything but always causes trouble?"

After saying this, he slowly walked towards Xi Yan, his tone becoming more and more oppressive:

"Don't think that I am not in the hands of just a few of you. The Regent's Palace will continue to function normally without anyone, including... you!"

Xiyan trembled slightly when she heard this, then knelt on the ground with a look of determination and earnestness:

"Please show some mercy, Your Highness. Manluo and I are willing to swear allegiance to Your Highness until death!"

Xiao Nanyan stretched out his finger and roughly lifted her chin, forcing her to look at him:

"Remember, you belong to me! I will take care of your life and death! From now on, put away those inappropriate thoughts and don't be like Manluo, flirting with others and acting recklessly!"

Xiyan was startled, her heart beating like a drum in an instant:

Could it be that he had heard the conversation between him and Han Xiao outside the palace?

Just as he was feeling anxious, Xiao Nanyan had already let go of his hand:

"Since you like to kneel, then kneel down!"

After he finished speaking, he walked straight to the couch, undressed and got into bed.

Soon, the sound of even breathing came from the couch. It was obvious that he had fallen asleep.

The candlelight in the hall gradually dimmed, and the light and shadows swayed.

Xiyan just knelt straight on the ground, not daring to make any sound.

Time passed minute by minute, and in the second half of the night, the coldness rose from the ground. Her knees had already become numb, as if she had lost consciousness.

Sleepiness came over her like a tide, wave after wave. Her eyelids became heavier and her head felt dizzy.

But she still held on, not daring to relax at all.

Just when she was about to collapse, the person on the couch spoke softly:

"Get on the bed!"
