Chapter 16 The Young Master Has Excellent Eloquence

The three walked quickly and soon arrived at the study in the Prince's mansion, where they happened to see the old steward standing at the door, seemingly to welcome them.

"Oh, you've finally arrived! The Prince has been waiting for quite some time." Upon seeing the three of them, the steward hurried forward, his eyes shining brightly.

"Butler." Feng Qingge greeted the old butler politely as she approached him.

"Hey, Third Young Master, hurry inside, the Prince is waiting." The steward nodded, urging her to go see Mo Linyuan quickly, which showed that Mo Linyuan usually acted like a tyrant in the mansion.

Feng Qingge nodded, leaving Qi Quan outside the door. She stepped past the two people and walked up the steps, slowly raising her hand to rest on the vermilion carved wooden door.

Before she could even open the door, a deep, cold voice came from inside, "Did you crawl here?" So slow!

Feng Qingge was not annoyed; instead, she smiled and pushed the door open with force.

"Your Highness knows so much, have you climbed over there?" Unlike Mo Linyuan's cold face, her eyes were filled with a smile that seemed to be infectious.

"Do you know what the punishment is for insulting me?" Mo Linyuan relaxed his body and leaned back in the armchair, letting his black hair fall loose. He rested one hand on the large table and tapped it rhythmically. He looked very handsome.

"Your Highness is mistaken. When did I ever insult you, and who heard it?" Feng Qingge raised her eyes and looked at the person sitting there with a half-smile, as if to say, "What can you do about it?"

"Hehe, Third Young Master has quite the eloquence." However, Mo Linyuan clearly didn't want to waste his breath arguing with her. After saying this, he gestured for her to sit down. He had invited her here not to bicker with her, but because he had important business to discuss.

"This is what we found yesterday." He said, picking up a piece of paper from the table. It was white with black ink and contained some writing. He then handed the paper to her so she could take a look.

Feng Qingge took it and carefully looked at the contents. She was surprised to find that the female ghost had quite a background.

"So she's the youngest daughter of the Prince of Anqing."

The Prince of Anqing was the late emperor's sworn brother and made great contributions to the late emperor's conquest of the country. Therefore, after the late emperor ascended the throne, he conferred upon him the title of Prince, and this title of Prince was hereditary.

His youngest daughter was rumored to be his favorite, spoiled since childhood, and as a princess, she was far superior to ordinary people.

However, two years ago, this princess fell into the water and subsequently fell seriously ill, with minor ailments also constantly occurring. She passed away not long afterward.

But why are they bothered by Mo Linyuan's residence?

"I have never had any dealings with Prince Anqing. Why would he linger in my residence after his daughter's death?" Moreover, he even killed a servant in his household. This is utterly audacious.

"I'll have to ask that princess myself." Feng Qingge put the letter back on the table, raised her eyebrows slightly, as if she had made a decision.

This Prince Anqing? He moved to his fiefdom after the late emperor's death, and his daughter traveled thousands of miles to harass and kill him; she must harbor a deep resentment. But no matter how much hatred one felt in life, killing someone after death is a sin.

Since you are already a ghost, you should be reincarnated instead of lingering in the mortal world.

Mo Linyuan stared at her, his eyes dark and unfathomable, like an abyss.

"Your Highness, may I borrow your residence tonight?" Feng Qingge looked up at Mo Linyuan, her usual smile gone, and appeared somewhat serious.

Mo Linyuan pondered for a moment, then slowly nodded and agreed to her request.

Time passed, and the sky gradually darkened, a thick, inky blackness enveloping the heavens, even the crescent moon hiding behind the clouds, appearing and disappearing intermittently.

This night was destined to be anything but peaceful.
