Chapter 147 Anything
The King of Huainan then took his leave, as he had matters to attend to upon his return.
Mo Linyuan's expression seemed rather unpleasant. He was completely unmoved by the servant who had already gone in to announce his arrival at the door and went straight into the mansion.
As soon as they entered, they saw Feng Cang talking to Feng Qingge with a bad expression, and Feng Qingge's expression was even worse.
Before the servant could announce his arrival, Mo Linyuan had already entered the hall. The two people who were talking realized this, turned around, and were suddenly taken aback.
"Your Highness," Feng Cang bowed, somewhat flustered.
Mo Linyuan nodded and looked at Feng Qingge, who was frowning. "What's wrong?"
Feng Qingge looked up and only then noticed Mo Linyuan. Her expression changed, and a smile immediately appeared on her lips.
"Oh, Your Highness has arrived! My apologies for my overreaction." He reverted to his usual arrogant and dissolute demeanor, as if nothing of the sort had happened.
Mo Linyuan had some idea of what was going on. He had just run into the Prince of Huainan at the door, and the father and son were both frowning and in a bad mood. He guessed it was about what the Prince of Huainan had mentioned before.
"Qingge, may I speak to you in private?" Raising an eyebrow, Mo Linyuan did not ask any further questions.
Feng Qingge was puzzled. Why did they need to talk privately? But before she could react, Feng Cang spoke first, "Your Highness, this humble official takes his leave." After saying that, he led his servant away, his speed was truly admirable.
Once Feng Cang left, Feng Qingge no longer needed to pretend to be respectful to Mo Linyuan, so she walked to the side and sat down.
"Your Highness, what is it? Speak." She acted like a lord, and anyone who didn't know better would think she was a prince.
Helpless, Mo Linyuan turned around and sat down next to her. Then he spoke, his deep voice instantly reaching her ears.
"There is indeed something, but it's not convenient to discuss it now. Come to my residence tomorrow, and I will tell you." Mo Linyuan stared at her, his eyes as deep and unfathomable as a bottomless abyss, as if pulling people endlessly into it.
Before Feng Qingge could even ask, Mo Linyuan spoke again, "If you are confident, I can grant you any condition. Remember, any." He deliberately repeated the reminder, then leaned back, looking relaxed and giving her a meaningful glance.
It was this glance that made Feng Qingge pause for a moment, then her eyes lit up, she sat up straight, looked at Mo Linyuan, and said, "Anything is fine?" If that's the case, then things will be much easier.
“Yes, anything.” Mo Linyuan nodded, his words sounding like a temptation, or even a hook, and the listener had already taken the bait.
"Okay." Feng Qingge smiled, this time a happy smile, but she overlooked Mo Linyuan's strange expression.
The next day, Feng Qingge arrived at the Regent's Palace as promised. Hei Ming was overjoyed to see her. Although he usually had a blank expression, Feng Qingge was used to it. So when he suddenly smiled at her, she was a little unaccustomed to it.
As Hei Ming entered the study, the outer door was closed behind him. Inside the study, Mo Linyuan, dressed in a long purple robe, sat behind his desk.
"You've come." He stood up, walked into the study, and gestured for her to sit down.
Feng Qingge nodded, feeling even more uncomfortable with his serious demeanor.
What's wrong with everyone in this mansion? Did they take the wrong medicine?
"I only wish that what you say today will never be heard by anyone else." Although Mo Linyuan believed her, there were still some things he had to say upfront.
