Chapter 136 What?!
He led the Snow Woman over and bowed to the two of them. Although he didn't know who the man was, he must be of extraordinary status.
He has a square face, an upright demeanor, a broad forehead, and an air of wealth and nobility; this man is destined for greatness.
“This is the Prince of Huainan; we must not be disrespectful.” Feng Cang frowned, his voice serious.
Feng Qingge raised an eyebrow, surprised that the Prince of Huainan was still in the capital. She then bowed again, "Your Highness."
"So this is Qingge. Han'er often mentions you; she likes you very much." The Prince of Huainan smiled, his brows exuding an air of righteousness that easily won people's favor, but his words carried a deeper meaning.
"I dare not accept such praise, it is Qingge's good fortune." She smiled, but her alluring face showed no sign of humility.
"And who is this?" The King of Huainan changed the subject and looked at the Snow Maiden behind Feng Qingge. She hadn't said a word since she came over, and she didn't look like a maid. Could she be a concubine?
Feng Cang also noticed Xue Nu and looked over with a rather pressured gaze, seemingly waiting for her explanation. Feng Qingge raised an eyebrow upon hearing this, ignoring Feng Cang's angry look, and said, "I found her outside the manor. I saw that she had nowhere to go, so I took her in to be a maid in the manor." She waved her hand dismissively.
The snow woman twitched her lips but did not refute, keeping her head down and not looking at anyone.
"I see. Han'er also said you rescued her on the street. It seems Qingge has a kind heart. Old Feng, you've got a good son." After praising him, she turned to Feng Cang, patted him on the shoulder, and said with emotion,
"Your Highness flatters me." Feng Cang cupped his hands, very modestly, but the person being praised didn't seem to notice at all. Instead, he raised his eyebrows and noticed the strange behavior of the Prince of Huainan.
Afterwards, Feng Qingge chatted with the two for a while longer before the Prince of Huainan took his leave. The two escorted him to the gate of the mansion, watched him get into his carriage, and then turned back.
Feng Qingge didn't feel anything, but Feng Cang frowned and looked very serious, as if he was thinking about something.
"Father, what's wrong?" When the two returned to the front hall, Feng Qingge finally saw Feng Cang's appearance clearly; he seemed to be troubled.
"Ge'er, did you meet Princess Chu on the street?" Feng Cang looked up and frowned as he looked at Feng Qingge.
Feng Qingge didn't understand why he asked that, but she nodded honestly. "Father, what did the Prince of Huainan say or what happened?" Why did he act so strangely after the Prince of Huainan left?
"Sigh, he was just catching up with me, but there seemed to be something else going on in his words just now. He kept asking about you and kept bringing up Princess Chu." Feng Cang sighed, hoping it wasn't what he thought.
Feng Qingge frowned as well, wondering what the connection was. "Perhaps it was because I saved his daughter and asked him a polite question," she said, not particularly concerned.
She hadn't realized anything yet, but she felt that the Prince of Huainan's gaze was strange, as if he was sizing her up.
"I suspect he wants to match you up with the princess." Sighing, Feng Cang had a knot in his heart. His son was not a real man. If the Prince of Huainan really had such intentions, what should he do?
"Pfft—" The person who had been raising their hand to drink tea immediately spat it out upon hearing this, looking at Feng Cang in astonishment, "What?!" Upon hearing this, Feng Qingge finally realized what was wrong.
"Ge'er, don't be so rude. You must remember that you are a woman." Feng Cang was secretly grieving when Feng Qingge suddenly spat out her tea, which instantly made him feel even more exhausted.
