What's wrong with Chapter 35?

Such people are rare in the capital, which made Feng Qingge glance at them.

"It's nothing. Young Master Feng is curious about what the corpse looks like, so I brought her to see it." Mo Linyuan raised his long eyebrows, but his words were full of familiarity.

However, in Feng Qingge's eyes, this person was extremely despicable. What did she mean by asking her to be curious about what a corpse looked like? It was as if she had some kind of weird fetish.

Sure enough, as soon as Mo Linyuan said this, the way all the constables looked at Feng Qingge changed a lot.

Only the Prefect of Jingzhao was different; he remained neither humble nor arrogant, nodding at her and saying, "So you are Young Master Feng the Third." He must have known.

"Greetings, Lord Qin." Feng Qingge nodded politely.

The Prefect of Jingzhao Prefecture, named Qin Hong, was an upright and incorruptible man. It is said that when he was still a scholar, he offended a high-ranking official and was therefore exiled to the barren frontier. Later, he was fortunate enough to be helped by a benefactor and rose from a minor official to his current position as Prefect of Jingzhao Prefecture.

Having exchanged greetings and met the people, it was time for them to get down to business.

"Where is the body that Ningchang Pavilion brought back now?" Mo Linyuan asked in a low voice as he stood side by side with Qin Hong.

"Your Highness, please come to the morgue." Qin Hong raised his hand, gesturing for the group to step forward.

So, the group followed Qin Hong into the mortuary, while the constables waited at the door.

The morgue was actually converted from a large hall. Because it was well-ventilated, it was suitable for placing corpses. Moreover, it was close to the prison, so no one was needed to guard it every night.

"This is the one." After leading the group inside, Qin Hong arrived at a corpse covered with a white sheet and said.

The corpses were arranged very neatly, each supported by a wooden plank. If one were not familiar with them, it would be impossible to tell which corpse was which.

As Qin Hong spoke, he lifted the white cloth covering the corpse, revealing the person's true face.

The body has been examined by the coroner, so the face is no longer as grotesque as it was when it was first discovered; now it appears much more normal.

However, the corpse's eyes were still wide open, as if it had died with its eyes open, and even though it had been dead for a long time, a closer look revealed a trace of fear in its eyes.

The body was naked except for a pair of white underpants that were only short enough to reach mid-thigh.

After the white cloth was lifted, what came into view, besides the man's slightly ferocious face, was the wounds all over his body.

The official was rather obese and had been dead for nearly three days, which explains the dramatic changes in his body.

His skin was pale and bloodless, with a grayish tinge, devoid of any human vitality. What stood out were the bluish-purple bruises, of varying sizes, covering his entire body.

"What happened?" Feng Qingge asked, pointing to the purplish-blue marks.

Qin Hong glanced at it, his face showing a hint of confusion. "We don't know the cause. Even the autopsy at noon couldn't find out what caused it." This was still a point of doubt, and he had a feeling that it might be the key to solving the case.

Having received the answer, Feng Qingge seemed lost in thought. She stroked her chin with one hand and slowly paced around, one circle after another.

"What's wrong?" Mo Linyuan looked at the person deep in thought. Her roguish gestures were quite alluring when she made them.

Feng Qingge shook her head, her expression somewhat strange. "We'll talk about it when we get back." She really didn't know how to bring this up in front of so many people.

Mo Linyuan nodded, not pressuring her. She had already examined the corpse and probably already had her answer, so there was no rush.
