Chapter 135 Finding the Little Uncle

Around noon, Rong Qi escorted Feng Qinghuang and Feng Qingyun back to the Feng Prince's residence. He then went home, quickly bathed and changed his clothes, and rushed towards the palace without stopping.

He needed to hurry over to share his spoils with his uncle, the emperor, and make him happy.

Upon reaching the imperial study, Rong Qi asked the young eunuch outside the door, "Is the Emperor here? Is he alone, or is someone else with him?"

The young eunuch nodded: "Only His Majesty and Eunuch Hong are present."

Just as the young eunuch was about to go in to report, Rong Qi stopped him and pushed the door open to go in.

Rong Yuan frowned as he looked at his nephew who had come in. He wondered if the kid had come to ask him for food again and given it to his daughter. This kid never came to the temple without a reason.

"Why are you here to freeload again?"

Although Rong Yuan said he was disgusted, he still ordered Hong Fu to get tableware for the young master.

Rong Qi sat down at the table, picked up his utensils and began to eat. During the meal, he casually mentioned something that startled Rong Yuan so much that he dropped his bowl and chopsticks.

"I've found my uncle."

Rong Yuan seemed to doubt his ears: "Aqi, what did you say? Say it again?"

Rong Qi put down his chopsticks and said, "I've found my uncle. He's Jiao Jiao's master and has been staying in Wuji Mountain for over ten years."

With trembling hands, Rong Yuan walked over and grabbed Rong Qi's shoulders: "Is what A-Qi said true? Is he really your uncle?"

Rong Qi nodded: "How could I mistake my uncle? Although I was only five or six years old at that time, I still remember things."

Rong Yuan patted him on the shoulder: "Then why didn't you bring your uncle back?"

"Can I bring her back? I guess I'll have to rely on Jiaojiao for this, because my uncle listens to her more now. Jiaojiao is my uncle's most doted little apprentice."

Rong Yuan suddenly had a thought: "You mean, the Phoenix Prince's Mansion already knew that girl's master was your uncle?"

Rong Qi shook his head: "They probably found out later. I heard from Jiao Jiao that his parents didn't know at first?"

Rong Yuan: "So when they took that girl away, they didn't know her, and they were able to take her away? Humph, that bastard Feng Qingcang, he actually kept it from me for so many years. Just wait and see how I deal with him tomorrow morning."

Rong Qi smiled and said, "If you deal with Jiao Jiao's father, Jiao Jiao definitely won't help you bring your uncle back. Think about it carefully."

"I can't do that either. I have to vent my anger, otherwise I won't feel comfortable."

Rong Qi continued eating: "Anyway, I've told you where your uncle is, but it's best if he doesn't tell anyone else yet. He likes peace and quiet. Before you can resolve his inner conflict, don't let anyone else know."

Rong Yuan nodded: "How could I not know? You're really useless. You can't even bring your uncle back. You have to rely on that girl."

Rong Qi didn't take it seriously: "Then your uncle will try and see if he will come with you."

Rong Yuan glared at him: "You're trying to drive me crazy."

"No, I wouldn't dare."

Rong Yuan suddenly thought of something: "How has your uncle been all these years?"

Rong Qi nodded: "It should be quite good. He has a few apprentices, and Jiao Jiao found him some pets, so he shouldn't be bored."

"Pets? What pets?"

Rong Qi then told Rong Yuan about the pets he had seen in the courtyard of Wuji Mountain.

Rong Yuan's eyes widened, and he swallowed hard. Was this kid telling the truth? Could anyone really keep wild wolves, snakes, or insects as pets?

Could Rong Qi be lying to him?

Rong Qi noticed his uncle's confusion: "I'm telling the truth, there's no lie in it at all. That's why it's so safe for your little uncle's yard to be up in the mountains."

Yes, it's safe. Neither people nor animals dare to go there; they'd probably never come back.

With so many wolves, even a few people wouldn't be enough to share them all.

"Uncle, don't worry. If you want to go there later, just take Jiaojiao and me with you."

Rong Yuan glanced at him: "Aren't you afraid of those wolves?"

Rong Qi shook his head: "No, I'm also afraid to face so many wolves myself. But those wolves like Jiao Jiao, and they listen to her a lot. After all, we've raised them for many years."

Rong Yuan teased him, "Oh, so capable, it's not because of you, what are you being so arrogant about?"

Rong Qi said nonchalantly, "What I'm proud of is that Jiao Jiao is mine."

Rong Yuan: "Okay, okay, it's yours, look how pleased you are with yourself."

"That's right."
