Under the cover of night, Rong Xi returned to the Crown Prince's residence to change his clothes, and then leaped out of the palace.
Upon receiving the message, Rong Mian, taking advantage of Mu Xinyan being summoned to the palace by her mother, leaped out of the palace and waited on the road Rong Xi was bound to take. He wanted to see if Rong Xi was going to the Phoenix Prince's residence to see that person.
Half an hour later, Rong Xi finally arrived. Rong Mian cautiously followed behind him and saw that he was indeed heading towards the Phoenix Prince's residence. He was secretly delighted. Hmph, he would just follow Rong Xi. If Rong Xi could see the Ninth Prince, then he could naturally see him too. He couldn't possibly see him and then kick him out.
After a while, Rong Xi realized that someone was following him. He couldn't guess which group was following him, so he decided to lead his men around a few more times to see who was behind him.
Watching Rong Xi lead him in circles, Rong Mian's mind raced. Did Rong Xi know he was being followed, or was Rong Xi not actually going to visit that person today? Regardless, he was determined to follow him today.
After a while, Rong Xi felt that he was almost outside the city gate, but the people behind him were still following him and showed no intention of attacking him. Thinking that the people coming were probably not there to kill him, he decided to return to the city.
Just as he was walking back, he suddenly felt something fall from the sky. He instinctively reached out and caught it, and a slender red figure fell directly into his arms.
The woman wore a veil, exuding mystery. Her fragrance was not like cosmetics, but rather refreshing and alluring. Rong Xi and she stared at each other in disbelief.
The woman greeted him: "Hi!"
Just as Rong Xi was about to respond, he heard the woman's pitiful voice again: "Young master, I'm injured, and someone is chasing me. Can you save me?"
After the woman finished speaking, she moved even closer to Rong Xi, her body trembling as if out of fear.
Rong Xi tightened his grip on the woman's arm and whispered in her ear, "Don't worry, young lady, I won't let them hurt you."
As soon as Rong Xi finished speaking, the woman in his arms fainted.
Rong Xi suddenly remembered the people following him, and his eyes darted around: "Third brother, I'll go first, hurry up and catch up."
Rong Xi immediately sped up and disappeared into the night.
The assassins chasing the woman, upon hearing Rong Xi's words, assumed they were there to meet their target. Two of them had already escaped, but this last one couldn't get away.
Several people surrounded Rong Mian and launched an attack.
Rong Mian said in frustration, "I'm not with them. Don't believe him. Leave now, or you'll be killed without mercy."
One of the assassins stared at him: "You want to distance yourself from them? No way! Brothers, get them! Since that woman ran away, we need to give her an explanation."
Rong Mian was not one to be trifled with, and he beckoned his guards over: "Kill."
The assassins and bodyguards fought each other for their respective masters, and Rong Mian took the opportunity to leave and chase after Rong Xi. He was carrying a woman, so he probably couldn't have gone far.
It was impossible for Rong Xi to carry a woman back to the palace; they could only go to his residence outside the palace first.
He landed in the courtyard. The butler noticed someone had entered and quickly got up and came out. Seeing a light coming from his master's room, he assumed an outsider had broken in, picked up his weapon, and prepared to kick the door open.
"Uncle Rong, come in quickly, someone is injured."
Upon hearing his master's voice, Rong Bo quickly pushed open the door and went in. He was stunned to see a woman in red on his master's bed.
Who is this person to the master? The master actually brought her to the villa, and she's even injured. The master hasn't had any women close to him before. Who is this powerful woman?
Seeing Rong Bo in a daze, Rong Xi quickly shouted, "What are you looking at? Hurry up and see a doctor!"
"Oh, it's Master."
After taking her pulse, Rong Bo looked at his master and said, "Master, this young lady's wound is poisoned. It must be from a poisoned weapon. As long as we use our internal energy to force the poison out, give her an antidote pill, clean the wound, and bandage it, that should be fine."
Rong Xi nodded: "Uncle Rong, go and prepare some hot water."
"Yes, Master."
Rong Bo closed the door tightly, his old face full of smiles. "Hehehe, Master has finally figured it out, so concerned about this woman," Rong Bo rubbed his hands together, his excitement beyond words.
After Rong Xi and Rong Bo left, he helped the person on the bed up and used his internal energy to expel the poison.
After he had vomited most of the toxins, Rong Bo brought over the hot water and peered inside.
"Master, who is this girl? How did she get injured?"
Rong Xi glanced at him: "I don't know him. He fell from the sky and landed in my arms. I can't just stand by and watch him die. Uncle Rong, please go out first."
Upon hearing this, Rong Bo wondered when his master had started to act righteously. Was it because the girl was pretty? But wait, she was wearing a veil!
Unable to understand, Rong Bo turned and went out, waiting outside the door in case his master called him again.
