Chapter 34 Misty Forest

Inside the carriage, Feng Qinghuang sat in Rong Qi's lap, eating the snacks he had prepared.

Rong Qi fed her bite by bite, and she ate bite by bite. Even though Feng Qinghuang had just eaten, she was still enjoying her meal.

Unbeknownst to Feng Qinghuang, Rong Qi, wanting her to enjoy delicious pastries during her training these past few days, had instructed someone early in the morning to buy all the pastries from her favorite shop and store them in his space.

After they had eaten most of their food, Rong Qi looked at his little darling's slightly tired face and thought it was because she hadn't slept well the night before.

Rong Qi kissed her little face: "Jiaojiao, you didn't sleep well last night. Take a rest for now, and I'll wake you when we get there."

Rong Qi then took a handkerchief and wiped her mouth again.

Feng Qinghuang glared at him playfully: "Didn't you sleep well? Who was it because of?"

Rong Qi laughed heartily, the sound of his chest resonating was extremely pleasant to hear.

Feng Qinghuang hugged him tightly, listening to his laughter.

Even Rong Xin and Rong Yi, who were outside the carriage, could feel their master's happiness.

The two exchanged a glance and remained silent, as if by unspoken agreement.

Inside the carriage, Rong Qi moved Xiao Jiaojiao to a more comfortable position, kissed her pink lips, and a tempting aroma of pastries wafted to Rong Qi's taste buds.

Rong Qi pursed her lips: "So sweet, Jiao Jiao is so sweet."

Feng Qinghuang turned her head to the side, refusing to let him kiss her.

Rong Qi looked at the little darling throwing a tantrum, smiled indulgently, picked up the book next to him, rubbed her little head, and let her do whatever she wanted.

Before long, the little one in his arms fell asleep. Rong Qi even turned the pages of the book much more gently.

Rong Qi's carriage arrived at the entrance of the Misty Forest early in the morning. He held Xiao Jiaojiao and read a book until almost everyone had arrived, at which point he woke her up.

Feng Qinghuang opened her drowsy eyes, parted the curtain, and looked at the situation.

Rong Qi patted her: "Sit down, the royal family hasn't arrived yet."

Feng Qinghuang nodded, picked up the water glass on the table, took a sip, and moistened her throat.

"Aqi, should we go out later? Or should we wait until they go in before we go out?"

Many people outside were unaware of their affair; only the royal family and a select few knew.

Rong Qi: "Go out, it's okay, so be it if you know."

Upon hearing Rong Qi's words, Feng Qinghuang's lips curled up in a smile.

She gave Rong Qi a quick kiss.

"This is what A-Qi said. If everyone knows that A-Qi is one of my people, and anyone still insists on coming to their death, then I won't be polite."

Rong Qi felt much happier looking at Jiao Jiao's mischievous appearance.

Rong Qi hugged her and said, "Yes, they're all yours."

Rongyi and Rongxin, standing outside the carriage, both rolled their eyes. "Master, just keep spoiling the princess! She's already fearless enough with her status; with you added to the mix, she'll be ready to cause a huge upheaval!"

After a while, the royal family arrived. Rong Mian brought two princesses with him for training: one was Rong Xiao, and the other was Rong Yang, who had caused trouble earlier.

Feng Qinghuang looked at Rong Yang. Was her confinement period over?

Rong Qi knew what she was thinking: "After the training, you'll go back and continue your confinement. The time isn't up yet."

Feng Qinghuang nodded, whatever. Anyway, if she dares to cause any more trouble, she'll take action.

The rest of the people bowed to the newly arrived members of the royal family.

"Greetings, Your Highness the Prince and Your Highness the Princess."

Rong Qi led Feng Qinghuang down from the carriage, and everyone else looked on with curiosity at the couple.

After Rong Qi and Feng Qinghuang walked over, they stood there blankly.

Rong Mian dared not let Rong Qi bow, but the little girl next to him didn't seem to know how to bow either.

Rong Mian was unaware that this little girl had been granted permission by her father, the Emperor, not to bow to anyone.

Rong Mian looked at her and said, "You little girl, are you scared out of your wits? Why don't you know how to bow to us?"

Rong Qi frowned: "Who do you want to bow to?"

"This young lady beside you, Rong Qi, you have your father's imperial edict, does this young lady also have one?"

Rong Mian's feelings towards Rong Qi were still complicated. On one hand, he felt that he was inferior to Rong Mian in every way, and on the other hand, he felt that Rong Mian had never taken the initiative to deal with him. On the contrary, it was him and his mother who were trying to kill him at every turn.

He wanted to let go of this grudge, but he was also unwilling to give up, so he was conflicted.

Rong Qi didn't care what he was thinking. He could deal with him, but he couldn't bully his little darling.

Rong Qi scoffed: "You're absolutely right."

"What? Who is she? She actually has the Emperor's decree?"

Rong Yang, who was standing nearby, finally got his chance: "Third brother, she is the little princess of the Phoenix Prince's Mansion, and is showered with love and affection. How could she not have the Emperor's decree? Even we legitimate princes and princesses don't have this kind of treatment. I don't know how she got it."

In truth, Rong Yang knew perfectly well how Feng Qinghuang had obtained this imperial edict. She simply wanted to vent her anger over her days of confinement.

Rong Xiao, who was standing next to Rong Yang, slapped him across the face.

Rong Yang covered her face in disbelief: "Royal sister, you..."

Rong Xiao glanced at her: "You don't know how Sister Huang got this imperial edict? Do you want me to help you recall it?"

Rong Yang didn't want to be beaten again, so he quickly said, "No...no need."

"Hmph, you better behave yourself this time, or you'll see."

After Rong Xiao finished speaking, he ran to Feng Qinghuang's side.

Rong Yang, standing behind her, stared angrily at her retreating figure.

Feng Qinghuang naturally saw these things, but with her brother there and the secret guards, Rong Yang couldn't cause any trouble and could only feel angry in secret.

"Sister Huang, have you and your cousin arrived already?"

Feng Qinghuang nodded: "Yes, we came by carriage and have rested for a while."

Feng Qinghuang leaned close to her ear and said, "Sister Xiao, my brother will protect you today."

Upon hearing Feng Qinghuang's words, Rong Xiao secretly glanced at Feng Qingyun and saw that he was also looking in their direction. Her face flushed slightly as she nodded.

Feng Qingyun was pleased to receive the affirmation and simply waited to bring the person to her side after they went inside.

Feng Qinghuang found Rong Qing through the crowd and saw her cousin Murong Xuan beside her. Feng Qinghuang laughed and winked at Rong Qing playfully.

This made Rong Qing unable to hold back her laughter.

Rong Li, who was standing next to her, looked at her younger sister with some confusion and suspicion.

Rong Qing: "It's nothing, Second Brother, I'm looking after Sister-in-law."

Rong Qing knew from a young age that her second brother had some issues with her eldest brother. Although there was nothing outwardly about it, she could often hear her second brother complaining about her eldest brother in private.

So when Rong Qing saw her younger sister Huang looking in this direction and then mischievously winking, her first thought was that her younger sister Huang was already taken, and no one could covet her, not even her second brother.

She is a person who clearly distinguishes right from wrong; right is right, and wrong is wrong.

Rong Li looked in that direction after hearing Rong Qing's words.

So it was just a young girl, and also his sister-in-law...
