Chapter 396 Staying at the Academy as a Mentor

When Di Wuyou led Xuanji and Wanwan over, Rong Jin's dean's room was already full of people. When Wanwan pushed open the door, she shook off Di Wuyou's hand and ran quickly into Feng Qinghuang's arms.

"Mommy, Wanwan misses you so much."

Fortunately, Rong Qi was there to protect Feng Muwan from falling, otherwise both Feng Qinghuang and Feng Muwan would have fallen to the ground.

Feng Muwan stuck out her tongue playfully: "Daddy, I was a little impulsive, but I'm so happy. Daddy and Mother won't blame me, will they?"

What could Rong Qi do but spoil her: "Come here, let Daddy see, our Wanwan seems to have grown taller again."

Feng Muwan turned and threw herself into Rong Qi's arms. Rong Qi held his daughter, whom he hadn't seen for many days, feeling both happy and sad. He was happy that his daughter was being taught very well and that her cultivation was improving rapidly, but he was sad that he had spent too little time with her.

"Sister, sister."

Rong Fengyu broke free from Rong Jin's embrace and rushed behind Feng Muwan, hugging her tightly.

Feng Muwan laughed and quickly turned around to hug her youngest brother.

"Yu'er, have you missed your sister? Have you been bullying your brother at home?"

Feng Muwan knew that Yu'er was the most mischievous person in the family, and Yu'er would say whatever she wanted. Feng Nian didn't like to talk much and didn't want to argue, so he would inevitably suffer.

Feng Nian knew, of course, that his older sister wanted to protect her younger brother, but he wasn't about to let himself be taken advantage of; he just didn't want to say too much. How could his foolish younger brother possibly bully him?

Rong Fengyu shook her head quickly: "I didn't bully my brother, my sister is bad."

Feng Muwan patted her younger brother's head and beckoned to Rong Fengnian: "Fengnian, come here to your sister."

Rong Fengnian ran over and snuggled into her sister's arms.

"You two are the best behaved. When your sister isn't home, you have to listen to your parents, okay?"

Feng Muwan turned to look at Feng Qinghuang: "Mother, are you staying here with Wanwan this time?"

Feng Muwan's question echoed the sentiments of many present.

Feng Qinghuang glanced at Rong Qi, then nodded: "Okay, I'm not leaving. I'll stay with Wanwan. If anything happens on Tianwu's side, I'll go back then."

Feng Muwan was overjoyed: "Yay, yay! Daddy and Mommy aren't leaving, they can stay with Wanwan now."

Meanwhile, Rong Xiao and Feng Qingyun, along with their family of four, were quietly exchanging words, expressing their longing for each other after not seeing each other for many days.

Rong Jin instructed the disciples in the courtyard to tell the kitchen to prepare more dishes for lunch today. It was already noon, so they should have a simple meal at the academy and then take them out for dinner in the evening.

Feng Qinghuang and the others had no objections to this, after all, they hadn't seen each other for a long time and had a lot to talk about. Feng Qinghuang felt that she and Rong Qi also needed their master to guide their cultivation. They had found that although their spiritual power was purer after arriving in Tianling, their cultivation was somewhat unstable, and they didn't know why.

If possible, they would like to continue practicing under their master's guidance, for learning is endless, and they also want to set a good example for their children.

During lunch, Feng Qinghuang raised this question with her master, Rong Jin, who was very pleased. This was the same thought Rong Jin had when he first hoped they would come, and now that they had brought it up themselves, it was exactly what Rong Jin wanted.

Rong Jin proposed that they serve as instructors at the academy, where they could teach and cultivate at the same time. Moreover, the academy's library is completely open to the instructors, so they can spend their free time reading and studying in the library when they are not in class.

Feng Qinghuang and Rong Qi agreed without much thought. However, Feng Qingyun and Rong Xiao's cultivation levels were much lower than Feng Qinghuang and Rong Qi's, so they didn't mention this aspect.

Feng Qingyun and Rong Xiao suggested that they could do business in Sky City instead of being idle all day.

Rong Qi and Feng Qinghuang didn't force them. Doing business was fine; they could hand over their current businesses to them later.

Rong Jin then stated that anyone wishing to become an instructor at the academy must pass an examination. After all, while he was the dean, he didn't have the final say on matters concerning the academy. Feng Qinghuang and Rong Qi naturally agreed; without rules, there could be no order. Passing the examination would allow them to become instructors openly and honestly, thus silencing any potential gossip.

"Master, how exactly is the assessment conducted?"

Rong Jin thought for a moment: "There are two methods. One is that the elders of the academy will conduct an assessment together, which includes cultivation, knowledge, and character. The other method is to go to the Trial Grounds. As long as you pass the test, you will be considered successful. However, the Trial Grounds are dangerous, and most people would not choose them. Of course, the more dangerous the place, the better the opportunities may be for you."

Feng Qinghuang and Rong Qi exchanged a glance: "Master, we choose the trial grounds."

Although they were confident that their cultivation, knowledge, and character were beyond reproach, they were newcomers and worried that they might not be able to answer the elders' strange questions about the Heavenly Spirit. It would be disastrous. They figured it was better to be straightforward and choose the trial; after all, they were confident they could pass.

"Alright, you all go back and rest first. I will inform the elders about this matter. You wait for Master's instructions."

"Yes, Master."
